This is such a fun and well crafted book. The only problem is I really don't know how to classify it?
Romantic Suspense? Fantasy? Sci-Fi? Mystery? This book has some of all of it and more. The more being lots of humor!
This is a well-written story with lots of surprises. It is a stand-alone story in a series that can be read in any order. You can read the series in order if you want more of the background, but it is not necessary.
The Kilty series is always a fun, lighthearted, fantasy read. When things get too serious in real life, or I have read a few too many creepy psychological thrillers, I can unwind with Broch. I am in love with his character and his Scottish accent. The series is comprised of a likeable cast and revolves around the imaginative lives of time travelers. Amy Vansant blended the Kilty series with her Angeli series together for twice the fun and excitement.
I read this as a part of the Kilty Pack II (Books 4-6) set.
This story took me a little longer to read than I originally thought; however, it seemed to read fast. There were a ton of chapters in this book.
Book #5 was better than #4, due to introduction of new characters Anne, Con, and Michael.
The ending was curious, and I don’t quite believe it is that tidy, but I will need to read the next book to see.
In some ways, this book felt complete, but there is a sort of cliffhanger feel to it.
I think I saw one goof-up where a character was mislabeled, otherwise, pretty clean editorialize. There are some sexy bits, but totally vanilla. They occur more towards the end.
If you liked the previous books, you’ll like this one, but I must be tiring of the series because it feels like it has lost some luster.
This series is so different. Time traveler working for the greater good. Catriona works as a fixer for a movie studio. Lots if adventure. Funny. It may sound a little strange but start reading and you're hooked. Did I mention Broch from Scotland Read and find out
This is a mix of action, romance, evil-doers and romance. I like the development about Catriona and Broch's relationship. A new ally comes to help them, and an friend goes through a big change. I look forward to the next book.
Cat, Broch, and the rest of the gang are busy solving mysteries, fighting bad guys, and finding out what new abilities they have. Another well written story.
I love the entire Kilty series but, so far, Kilty Secrets is the best! I am estactic about Broch and Cat's recent developments. Interested in what happened? Of course you are, so be kind to yourself and go get it!
Received as a gift from the authors fan page, it was absolutely super! I've read the entire series and it's the best. Witty, humorous, great characters, and this fifth book has really expanded in story line. I couldn't put it down. I NEVER leave spoilers, but.. but.. ...This ONE time....I must say .... Scotchsquatch. ...LOVE IT. Do yourself a favor and get into this series. And don't forget to check out her Pineapple Port series, I love them too.
I loved it!! Fantasy, humor, suspense, thrills, romance. What more can you ask for? What is Catriona's father up to? Who's the redhead? Can she be trusted? What happened in Las Vegas? Will Catriona and Broch find the serial killer? Come along and find out the answers. You'll be glad you did. Well thought out plot and very well written. I voluntarily received a copy of this book and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.
Once again, a great read by Amy Vansant. I am fully invested in this series and have been here since the first. Broch is just adorable, and funny without knowing it. Catriona is snarky as usual, giving me an entertaining time, along with giggles and tense moments. A few new characters have come into play as well and I’m excited to see where the story goes. Can’t wait for the next! I received this book as an ARC and I voluntarily chose to review it.
I have not read an Amy Vansant book that I didn't love, and this is no exception. I realize that the new characters come from a different series (one that I haven't read) but there was enough information given about them to make them relevant to this one. I feel connected to Broch and Catriona, so this one was particularly satisfying. I won't read as a stand alone, but it is a terrific series.
More adventurous and not as dark as others in the series. I cruelly hope this isn't the last as Cat and Brochan story feels like it has more thrilling adventure s to go along with what Fiona is up to.
I have been reading this series since I Kilty first dropped onto the movie set but this books takes the story in a whole new direction. No spoilers here but I can't wait to see where this story goes.
