This is a big collection of paranormal stories featuring prisons for the supernatural.

I love collections which provide a variety of authors and styles and this one fits that bill perfectly. There are a lot of different stories here and you are likely to find your own favorites, but I found all of them to be well written and highly entertaining in their own right. Needless to say, they feature a lot of different characters and settings and the authors have different approaches to the tales giving you a lot to choose from. Overall, a very entertaining volume which provides plenty of entertainment value.

Highly recommended.

We have adventure, suspense, and of course romance. I only read a few of the stories, Since they seem to leave you wondering what will happen next. So yes the stories is a start of a series. Some of the stories are really short and others are longer. So you might want to get the set just so you have the prequel to the series.

Clockwork felon Maggie alabaster prequel

This kind of seemed steam punk like to me it was an interesting short. I bet the other story at the end has some yummy mm. I loved the detail just enough to make you want more.

Blood cursed Tabitha Barrett prequel

I want to go to wicked reform school and see so vampires go down. This sounds intense I'm defiantly hook I'm going to have to get my the down so I can read these pronoto.

Margo bond Collins broken chains prequel

Was a fun prequel to an interesting prison story leaves you wanting more.

Deadliest Quirah Casey prequel

I think the idea of this story is totally bad ass. I am totally hooked. The Fmc is totally amazing and I love the idea of their powers.

Elemental beginnings m.m. Chabot

This was a supper cool story idea. This kind of gave me avatar the last airbender vibes mixed with divergent. Totally worth an add to the tbr.

Cell block sorcery tiegan clyne

This was a fun short detailed story I love how her work has vivid imagery it sucks you in every time. The character I can tell is snarky but she won't go down easy and I think she likes that warlock more than she wants to admit. I think the ending was my favorite I hope she expands on it if not it's a great short witchy read.

Emma Cole. Nicked prequel

They sound like some versions of odd shifter I was totally digging this one.

May Dawson freed

This was such an unexpected book I totally feel for it. I didn't see that ending coming at all.

Freak Elizabeth Dunlap

This was such an unusual story I can't even begin to explain it but I know I need to read the full story.

Cyndi Faria uncaged

Well that was a twist on a vampire book. I. Liked it it was an interesting read for sure. Some of the military lingo went over my head though.

Queen of the dameed prequel I.a. fox fugitive demon

This is a freaking cool story. Reincarnation is my jam. A human dragged into the mix with a rainbow of demons sign me up.

Tina glasneck chosen

What in the Holy mind Fuck this is one different apocalypse book for sure. Robot dogs magic fairy blood witches and gosh knows what else.

Leigh Kelsey kiss and lockup

Another human who turns out super natural and some possible mm signed me up for this. Did I forget to mention sexy Greek wolves and Greek mythology double win.

Dana Lyons bind his wings

I think this is a pretty cool book definitely not what I was expecting at all I'm interested in the next installment for sure.

Niobe marsh the black garden

Holy world of interesting that's an awesome idea for a story nicely written I need more.

Conjuring asylum aj mullican

This was a sweet quick read that I didn't see coming I loved it nicely done.

Bee Murray. Reporting for duty

Raven shifters that sounds awesome. What a fun interesting funny start to a story. I see a snarky fmc and some cocky and awkward males. I like it a lot worth a look into.

Jen ponce rock meet hard place

I love how this intertwined with another series. I think gargoyles turn human will give it tons of funny parts I approve her other series sounds awesome as well.

D.a. Stein the prison of despair

Holy wow that was hot. I need a cold shower. Sign me up for the next installment this seems to be a serial.

Faith summers. Bounded

This looks like an exciting story I love how deep it got with just that short of a start. Totally awesome and totally hot.

Paranormal guard Nicole zoltack

This was a short story that left a lot of room for what sounds to be like a good plot. This character sounds kick was.

Nice collection

I had to break this one, the constant going to prison thing becomes boring when I tried reading it in one day.
Broken Chains was my favorite and I will be waiting for November to get the new release that goes with it. This is a nice collection of supernatural characters to different things to be sent to various prisons. These stories have some great characters, but as with any story collection I didn't like them all, but that's to be expected. Anyone who like the supernatural beings should enjoy this one.

Margo Bond Collins makes you want to go right out and get the next book in the story after reading Broken Chains, “A La Isla Perdida Paranormal Prison Prequel” (say that three times fast - laugh). I am already in love with Evangeline, Mara, and Gage. Collins has magic, shape-shifters, battles, and human a**wipes. Gotta love a story like that. Stick a fork in me because you had me at cat burglars who are chained up. (laugh)

Elizabeth Dunlap kicks off an exciting new series “Highborn Asylum” in Freak. Violet, aka “Letty”, wakes up everyday pretty much with no memory. If she is lucky she sees a boy, who calls her Letty, and does not mind that she can hear the walls talk. All she knows is the walls of the Asylum even though the boy tells her differently. He says she is magic and has seen it. She thinks he is as nuts as her. I loved this story. It is deep, dark, and twisted. It has so much potential. Freaking loved it!!!

Gargoyles that turn into hot men. Men that have a sense of humor and honor? Jen Ponce knows how to write a hero in Rock, Meet Hard Place which is part of the “Magic, Mayhem, & Rebellion Series”. Ponce does not write much about Poppy other than the guys think she is cute (laugh) - typical guys. On the other hand, Ponce has created quite the background for our guys and their gargoyle world. I love their humor most and I have a feeling their punches come with snarky one liners.

Locked in prison is the theme lately. These writers make it seem like fun to watch.

Reviewed Rock Meet Hard Place. Ok will start with this is I would say an excerpt or a prequel to this story as it’s very short and ends on a cliffhanger.

That said I immediately loved Mayhem. He reminded me of a very happy puppy that wanted to explore everything, he enjoyed all the nuances that life had to offer both the good and the bad. The story is being told from Mayhem’s POV so far which is probably why I enjoyed his snark and optimistic view of the world. Crash was along for the ride and was enjoying himself but he was a bit more reserved.

I had so many laugh out loud moments, snorting moments and just wanted more, and when Mayhem and Crash finally met up with Poppy I snuggled down for an entertaining read and then the story ended. I will admit to a very theatrical NNNOOOOOO. Before that happened I had just muttered that this author has found a new fan and the book ended…both annoyed and hungry for more. Needless to say I’m very curious to see what happens with these three and what hijinks they will get up to.

So he had to do something to make it so he can go to school. The secound story (Blood Cursed) is about Ceyla heir to the Sabourin Coven she had no family and no allines. She want by the Miekcarek Coven so they send her to the Dark Forest Academy to see they can get her to go over to the Miekcarek Coven but things did not go like they wanted them go. The three story (Brocken Chains) is about a prison island that puts supernatural criminals. They keep the people in their oun groups. The four story is (Abducted) and it is about people that catch magically and other suprernatural people and send they to the human world to use as weapons development. Now would be the time to get this book.

My review of Kiss and Lock Up by Leigh Kelsey

Loved this short taster about Helle (FMC) and her harem - Alpha Bjorn, Valr and Magnus. Loki's daughter Helle thinks shes human and has no idea what Asgard Penitentiary (where she is at the beginning of the book). Accused of murder she is send there to serve her sentence. This is a great start to this book and im actually looking forward to reading the whole book because this was good

This book set will introduce in many authors that you might have not read before. The stories in this book are fast faced and interesting. They make you want to read that authors book. You will enter so many different worlds in this book. From Maggie Alabaster's ClockWork Academy, Noibee Marsh's The Black to the last book. You will meet all sort of different supernaturals in prison for various reasons.

I enjoyed being introduced to so many different authors with all different realms and supernatural characters, I recommend this

Wow I’ve never read anything like this before and this review is for Jen Ponce called Rock, Meet Hard Place.
I loved this story but it was too short and then it ended on a cliffhanger and I said ohh hell no you can’t do that to me but yes Jen Ponce did so now I’m chomping at the bit for the next book talk about a tease. I loved everything about this story especially the characters Mayhem, Crash and Poppy and boy did I laugh it was hilarious but I want more. I admit I'm someone who likes a beginning, middle, end when it comes to reading a story. I'm not a big fan of cliffhangers or the abrupt end of a story so you will buy another book immediately. With that being said, that tends to be what you get with anthologies, so you have to just accept it and deal. This anthology, Hexes and Handcuffs, was really pretty good. There are quite a few stories I will buy the kindle books for because they were that interesting and I want to know more about what happens. Not to mention, reading an anthology on a subject that interests you is a great way of finding new authors to read, which this book has done for me. A 5-star read!

I grabbed this anthology to read Emma Cole’s ‘Nicked’ the prequel to Avarice House of Mustelid. It contains RH PNR and shifter magic.

Vaughn, Bane, Ilian, Lorca, are enforcers chasing a thief, looking for their bondmate. Their quad senses she’s near during their current mission.

Avarice, member of the Ghost Clan, with her alter’s magic, stealth and ability, attempts to protect her Clan. Under her uncle, the Clan’s regent, the town is slowly being strangled by tariffs. Once she finds her bondmates, she will be eligible to rule.

This was a great, fun read. Can’t wait for more. The collection of stories is a great intro to many indie authors.

Anthology

As most anthologies, it is filled with a group of short stories meant to captivate and get you hooked on a new series. Some of these are prequels, and some are just short stories associated with an existing series. Sadly, I feel most if these are good for existing fans that have already read the connecting series. There are a few stories that have promising plots. As for worth, I was fortunate enough to purchase for free through Amazon, and regardless, it is worth that price. I think the regular price was 99 cents, which is still a good price in my book.

Prison for supernaturals. These stories are all prequels to series. All of the main characters are magical supernatural beings who have been sent to prison for crimes they may or may not have committed. And once there they are looking for a way to break out or take over, with a little help from other inmates. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review

Great Collection by some impressive authors

I have to confess that I got this book because I’m totally gushing on Bee Murray at the moment and her contribution of Raven Guard was super. But then I got lost in the anthology. It is packed full of great contributions and the variety and diversity is impressive. From inmates to guards, from space stations, shifter jails, gods being gody, seelie criminals, the list is endless. It’s a great read!

I read The Prison of Despair by D. A. Stein. This review is ONLY for that short story. I did not get any of the other stories in this book set. Vampires being caught by vampires and taken to a prison to breed after being drugged and the it cuts off. I really didn't understand the book. It didn't seem to have an ending and I didn't know really why anything was happening. I didn't have long enough to like the characters. It was not my cup of tea.

I downloaded this ebook solely because I saw Margo Bond Collins was a contributor. Sure enough, I loved her story. Happily though the others were also a lot of fun (with one exception though it was well done even if not for me, so I’m not going to point it out). I’m glad I came across this set and am happy to recommend it.

If you want a sneak peak or a prequel prior to purchasing a full series, this anthology will provide that. The stories are short glimpses into other series, not an anthology or collection of novels. Not what I like

Introduction to Interesting Series

This is a diverse collection of stories about supernatural individuals facing prison. There each are short reads and many introduce you to a series that’s upcoming or is part of one that has already been released. It is a good way to find more interesting read.

A great introduction to many stories

Strong heroine and the hero that love them. The prequels had everything( good back stories, drama, romance) and now I looking forward to reading the stories. I do wish more authors would have strong female characters that are not afraid to what needs to be done and the male characters that love them and stand by them. 🌟🌟 ❤❤

Enjoyed This Collection

It was interesting to read about magical prisons. The different takes on paranormal crimes on and off world. Some were prequels, some were mix series stories and all were well written. Only a couple were too short for me to really get a feel for the actual series.
