Quick short snippets of horror. Book has ten short stories. They get going quickly and then finish. Might be better if the tales had more meat on their bones
To let you know where I'm coming from I don't often read short story collections as too often I've found them by their very nature rather uneven, so tend to go for novels. Still, this a short collection of horror tales set in the UK and I know he writes well as I'm also currently re-reading an updated version of his 2017 novel, Sker House (Spoiler: it's good, you should read it) so I thought why not give these a go. Overall I thought this was a pretty strong collection and definitely worth a read for fans of short stories. None of the stories were bad, most were decent, and two or three I thought were very good indeed.
Hugely enjoyed this collection of short stories by CM Saunders. The fourth in the X collection. No bad stories amongst the bunch although I did feel that the stories got stronger and stronger (from this reader’s perspective) the further through I got. Overall well worth the read and recommended for any fans of horror out there.
