For a counseling textbook, I found the writer to be sexist in his composition of the book. Overwhelmingly, the therapist was referred to as male. While clients were mostly female. In addition every reference to an intimate relationship was a hetero one. This book provides a clear example to how systems are created and supported by dominant culture. This is especially important to note as we are talking about training counselors to work with people who have experienced hardship at some level, presumably some of these clients will have experienced oppression. And if we as a profession can't do a better job of accurately representing the women, queer, trans, people of color, etc having a place as authorities we will remain part of the problem.

تاثیردرمانی معتقده که مشاور باید هدایت جلسه رو تا حد زیادی به دست بگیره و کاری کنه درمان یا فرایند مشاوره موثر باشه و در یاد مراجع بمونه.

اد جیکوبز یک مدل برای این کار معرفی میکنه به اسم RCFF که مخفف Raport یا ارتباط مشاوره ای برقرار کردن، Contract یا قرارداد بستن، Foucs یا تمرکز و Funnel یا تعمیق هست. همچنین یک نمودار معرفی میکنه برای ارزیابی عمق بحث های جلسات و میگه هرچه عمق بحث های داخل جلسه مشاوره بیشتر باشه جلسه موثرتر خواهد بود.

جیکوبز در این کتاب همچنین از فضای آکادمیک مشاوره فاصله گرفته و ادعا میکنه خیلی از اصول و تکنیکهایی که در فضای آکادمیک آموزش داده میشه گاهی مواقع در عمل اجرایی نیست یا اجرتش باعث تخریب ارتباط مشاوره ای یا فاصله گرفتن از عمق و تمرکز جلسه میشه. بنابراین در این کتاب تکنیکهای موثرتری رو برپایه نظریه های Ret، گشتالتی، TA و طرحواره درمانی معرفی میکنه.

جیکوبز اصل صحبت خودش رو درباره اصول تاثیر درمانی در مقدمه کتاب میکنه و ادامه فصول به تفکیک، روی تکنیکهای هر بخش RCFF کار میکنه و مثال های زیادی به شیوه گلدارد میزنه.

کتاب راهنمای خوبی برای کارورزهای همه گرایش های مشاوره به خصوص برای مقطع ارشد هست که تسلط خوبی روی نظریه ها دارند.

پ.ن: متاسفانه نسخه ترجمه کتاب که از آقای یاسر تکجو از شاگردان آقای جیکوبز هست و اینجانب مطالعه کردم در گودریدز ثبت نشده و لذا اینجا روی نسخه انگلیسی ریویو گذاشتم.

This book provides a great overview of Jacobs' Impact Therapy...which is really RCFF--rapport, contract, focus, funnel. This is a great structure for any counseling session of any length, and really challenges the counselor to push for making the most out of any session. Also included is a great overview of other theories (and how they relate to impact therapy) like transactional analysis, gestalt, re[b]t.

Excellent skills for my counseling toolbox

This book provides engaging and insightful techniques to use with clients in a down to earth tone. I flew through the book and enjoyed the sample "session" where techniques were demonstrated. I highly recommend this book to any counselor/ therapist and psychology students.
