Princess Adeline is next in line for the throne in their werewolf kingdom. At nineteen, she has yet to find her mate. The king and queen’s solution? Throw a ball. A simple midnight ride is all it takes to throw her parents’ plan awry. Her horse bolts, and she soon finds herself in the territory of her father’s most hated subjects—the pack of rogues, who have long been banished and are ostracized by other werewolves in various packs including her own. There, on the land of these dangerous misfits, Adeline unravels a dangerous secret—a secret that, if uncovered, might one day force her to make a the royal crown or her newfound mate.
I really did enjoy this book when I first read it on Wattpad and was excited to find it was getting published; I wanted to see what changes the author would make to the plot and characters. Unfortunately, not much changed as far as I could tell. One area in particular I wanted to see improved was the characterisation of both Ryan and Adeline, which I found slightly confusing. It would have been nice to see their relationship develop authentically to make the intensity of their emotions later more believable. I get that they are werewolf soulmates, so feelings develop faster than in normal romances, but it was a bit too quick for me.
Nevertheless, it was a very quick read and kept me interested throughout. This being a debut published book, I'm sure the author's writing will mature, and wouldn't mind reading more from them in the future.
It started off great but it was as if someone else began writing around the time Poison, her horse, runs off. I'm no English professor, but there were mixed up words (like passed instead of past or smelt rather than smelled), spaces missing between periods and the beginning of a new sentence, and even the dialogue became choppy and stilted. The princess suddenly became a snob and weak, as well. I get that she's been raised to be a Queen, but that doesn't mean she has to act like she's better than everyone. That part of her personality didn't get too out of hand, but it turned me off just the same. I stopped reading at about 14% so perhaps it gets better, but I lost interest & got annoyed too quickly to go on.
I enjoyed reading this story. It has a good story line with a few mysteries you kept chasing through to the end. The characters were good and quite a few surprised me by the end. The only part that confused me was the heat/bite; it ended very suddenly, but we didn’t really get definite answers as to why the bite hurt so much.
Overall I’d recommend this book to anyone else who likes shifter romances. This one also had action and some mystery to it that had me finishing it in one sitting.
It was a good book but her parents pissed me off through the whole story like damn I was raging because of them I felt so bad for her and her mate and her character was very wishy washy sometimes. I wish she had a backbone in the times she freaking needed to but she chose flight in most fight situations and gosh I hated that. A lot of miscommunications but still I liked how they got their happy ending and resolved their issues in the end.

This story was so sweet and easy to read that I just got lost in the fantasy. Adeline is a princess who is bored out of her mind but her horse Poison changes that when she ends up in Rogue territory. Ryan is the Alpha in that territory and she just found out he is her mate, that is not going to go over very well with her parents the King and Queen. It’s was a fun read.
A very well-written and creative book. The author has great use of imagery and each chapter leaves you on edge. There’s a shocking twist that completely switches the path of the storyline. It’s a wonderful, quick read about a girl who grew up as royalty ended up being mated to the alpha of the rogues, a man who grew up around constant violence and poverty.
An enjoyable supernatural shifter romance that is far from this world, with a love story that in itself is worlds apart. Royal AGAINST rogue, and royal FOR rogue. Deception, mystery, challenges and redemption. The princess and the rogue alpha is worth the flick through.
Honestly pretty good! The book was easy to read and the characters pretty like-able. If you’re looking for a good book that’s easy to read than this it! I’ve read a couple of other werewolf books this week and had to DNF them. Not this one though.
loved the alpha in this story but flipped between liking the Princess and wanting to choke her! I did really enjoy it though. I will be looking for more from this author.
None of the characters had any real motivation. The only consistent one was just mentioned and not even a character. What someone wants is what usually shapes them.
