I just finished *Alpha's Dominion* by Rebecca Claire Smith and wow, this one completely surprised me.
I'm usually a fae romantasy girl, so werewolves aren't normally my first choice. That's exactly why this book impressed me so much.
The atmosphere was incredible. Snow covered forests, an isolated cabin in the woods, and a dark, broody hero who immediately had me hooked. Nathaniel... what a man. At first I wanted to yell at him because he keeps interrogating the FMC instead of explaining anything. She's just woken up naked in a strange cabin after being shot and he's demanding answers. Relax, sir. But once you learn why he rescued her, everything starts falling into place.
The chemistry between them is fantastic. From the very beginning there's this constant push and pull. They're clearly drawn to each other, but neither of them wants to admit it. It was frustrating in the best possible way because I kept thinking, "Just tell each other how you feel already."
One of my favorite tropes was that female werewolves are incredibly rare. They're treated like something precious, almost impossible to find, which made the stakes feel even higher.
What really stood out to me, though, was Rebecca Claire Smith's writing. You can tell she's an experienced writer. The pacing felt natural, the descriptions were immersive, and the spicy scenes were exceptionally well written, every single one was memorable and beautifully written.
And that ending... excuse me? Nathaniel is gone? You can't leave me with a cliffhanger like that.
I'm giving this one 4.5 stars. I save my five star ratings for books that completely redefine the genre for me, like my favorite fae romantasy reads. But this absolutely deserves 4.5 stars for the writing, the atmosphere, the tension, and a hero I'll definitely be thinking about for a while.

I picked up Alpha Domination to support an indie author friend and somehow finished the entire thing in ONE DAY. 😂
This was such a fun, fast read. Rebecca Clare Smith drops you almost immediately into Georgina’s very bizarre predicament—injured, naked, and in the basement of a man who is clearly hiding A LOT—and from there, the story really doesn’t let up.
What I enjoyed most were the characters and the conflict between them. Georgina is stubborn, independent, and understandably not thrilled about suddenly being told there are rules to a supernatural world she didn’t even know existed. Nathan is equally stubborn, secretive, and frustrating, which makes their dynamic incredibly entertaining. I especially liked that their attraction doesn’t magically erase the tension between them. There are genuine reasons for these two to clash, and I found myself invested in both the relationship AND everything happening around it.
I also really appreciated how much mystery Rebecca leaves surrounding both characters. We get enough answers to understand the immediate story, but there is clearly so much we still don’t know about Nathan and Georgina’s pasts—and I have a feeling some of what we think we know is going to look very different as the series continues.
And then THAT ENDING.
Rebecca. Ma’am.
You cannot just end a book there and expect me to behave normally.
If I had one critique, it’s probably that I would have happily spent a little more time in certain moments. The book moves quickly, which made it ridiculously easy to devour, but there were a few character and relationship beats I would have loved to linger in longer—especially because I became invested in these characters so quickly.
Overall, Alpha Domination was addictive, entertaining, and exactly the kind of paranormal romance you can accidentally lose an entire day to. And considering this is only book one of the Alpha Wolf trilogy, I’m VERY curious to see how much bigger Georgina and Nathan’s story gets from here.

Alpha Domination was my first real venture into werewolf romance, and apparently I've been missing out. The author pulled me in quickly with a story that never gets bogged down trying to explain every detail of its paranormal world. Instead, you're dropped into Georgina's extraordinary situation right alongside her and allowed to discover what is happening as she does. The writing is light and vivid, making everything from the quieter character moments to the action easy to picture, while the mystery and suspense kept me wondering where the story was headed next.
But the real strength for me was Georgina and Nathan. Their attraction and tension are palpable almost immediately, and there's a genuine heat and sensuality to their relationship that keeps building as the story progresses. Both felt like fully realized characters I could easily picture, and even when I wanted to shake them and tell them to JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER, I was invested in what happened between them. I also appreciated that the romance never completely overtakes the suspense; there's enough danger, action, and uncertainty surrounding Georgina's new reality to keep the pages moving quickly. And then there's that ending, which left me simultaneously satisfied with the story I'd just read and very much wanting to know what happens next. An addictive, sexy paranormal romance that made a pretty convincing case for me to read more werewolves!
