Little do they realize, they're falling in love on borrowed time.Something is up with the shifters in Portland, Oregon. And if there's one person who's going to get to the bottom of it, it's Diana Paul. As the executive director of a center that offers all sorts of services to shifters, Diana is extremely protective of her clients. All except for one extremely annoying -extremely attractive- wolf shifter named Orion.Orion is used to taking care of his siblings, he's been the protector who's been doing it his entire life. Maybe that's why Diana's take-no-prisoners attitude draws him in so quickly. She doesn't need anyone to take care of her, she kicks ass and takes names. Orion didn't even realize he was looking for a woman like her until he met her. Now, if only he convince her to date a client...As Diana and Orion get closer and closer, they begin to notice the strange behavior of someone in their lives. Little do they realize, they're falling in love on borrowed time. There is something dangerous barreling toward Orion and his siblings and Diana might be the only one who can stop it.This is the fifth book in the "Forbidden Shifters" Series, but can also be read as a standalone. No cliffhangers. HEA guaranteed. For adults only.
Ooooh! This book ends on a cliffhanger for the trilogy, but wraps up a delightful romance for Diana and Orion.
I am really loving this series, especially the second trilogy.
This book has a strong suspense vibe as there are some shadowy figures in the background trying to capture the Wolf siblings and use them for nefarious purposes and friends are suspect.
What I love about this is that the main characters trust each other and support each other... and, as the book describes, "come for each other" (I meant that in the rescue sense, but my mind got dirty as I was writing this).
I LOVE when my main characters build trust and, even though they are warned to "trust no one", decide that they know their loved one and will trust them. And that makes me sooo happy!
Orion is great. He's been super into Diana the whole time. And he's open to trying new things to make things work with her. We get them getting to know each other, being friends, and being vulnerable. They are both fantastic characters and are so fun together.
The spice was great, the adventure was fantastic, and the side characters are well portrayed. As always, we get to see some glimpses of the next romance in this one, which promises to be a nail biter!
So how can Orion finally get the sexy Diana to take him seriously? He has tried convincing her to be his mentor, mostly by rejecting all the other mentors assigned to him. He has texted her and called her at odd times. He has even tried pretending to smoke a cigarette underneath her office window, nothing seems to get him where he wants to be. When it is suggested to him that he try doing exactly what she wants, he is a little reluctant to try this hands-off approach but what does he have to lose?
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
A Mate for Orion is a marvellous addition to the Forbidden Shifters series. Each instalment is a continuation of the main plot; while delivering a refreshing and exciting storyline. Orion and Diana's story is terrific; it met my highest expectations. I absolutely adore Orion; as the oldest, he bears the weight of responsibility and the wellbeing of his younger siblings. Even so, he had an innocent aura about him that totally drew me in. He is very much like his brother Phoenix; he has a basic understanding of human behaviour and communication. His attempts at learning human conduct were adorable, humorous, and totally irresistible. It's impossible not to be charmed by their guilelessness. Diana is the executive director of the center for shifters. She is beautiful, strong-willed, and protective with a tough veneer. But once you get to know her more, you'll see the soft, caring, and vulnerable side of her.
Orion gets his sights on Diana and goes out of his way to get her attention, and eventually, his persistence pays off. Orion and Diana's story is wonderfully written, sweet, and has enough moving parts to keep you wondering what comes next. Mystery, intrigue, and suspense are woven perfectly into the storyline. Danger creeps in the shadows, stocking the siblings, and they must find a way to stop it before it's too late. The ending was gratifying, and I'm definitely looking forward to Quill's story; I just know it's going to be amazing.
The narration is outstanding. Craig A. Hart captured and depicted the nuances of Orion and Diana's personalities, emotions, and attraction flawlessly. He made the story and the cast come to life, making it even more enjoyable. A Mate for Orion was a terrific listen; I love the world-building and characters, and I'm strongly recommending this audiobook.
Orion has loved Dianna from afar since he saw her for the first time nearly a year ago. Dianna has had a constant source of irritation and endless amounts of paperwork in Orion's constant calling and insistence that she be his mentor. When Orion's friends convince him to change up his strategy, Dianna believes that they might have a chance at being friends, but Orion wants more. Can he convince her that she should take a chance on loving him?
This book was even better than the last. Every time I finish a book in this series, I think that there is no way Selena Scott could top it and she continues to prove me wrong. This book was absolutely fantastic. I loved getting to see the softer sides of both Orion and Dianna as they fell in love. Once I started reading I couldn't stop!! I loved this book so much and it should go on everyone's TBR!
What I love about this series, is that even if you took the erotica out of it, it’s still a good story. This is Orion’s story. He’s the eldest of the Wolf siblings. He has felt the burden of responsibility of caring and protecting his brother, Phoenix, and sister, Dawn, Ever since their parents died. Now he has a chance at a loving and caring relationship of his own. He just needs to convince Diana of that!
Like his brother, Phoenix, Orion is such a breath of fresh air. Completely without guile, and open with his thoughts and feelings, he seems to understand humans better than humans themselves. The author has also peppered this book with breadcrumbs about what may transpire in the next book, “A Mate for Quill.”
I heartily recommend this series to anyone that enjoys PNR books.
The first 3 books was good the last three is about another group of siblings but I found it to drag on about sex to much and very childish relationship.the wolves might of grown up in the wild but they are grown adults.it just feels like all the mentors want to teach them his sex even Diana was all about sleeping with orion.there is just something missing the storyline is interesting but the pages of sex that show up to often is not the storyline
Orion is still learning how to live in the human world. He found the himself at first struggling , as he couldn't read or write and he had taken care of his siblings all by himself but who would take care of him. Diana is the executive director of a centre that helps shifters, she is drawn to one of her clients, who is annoying , attractive - wolf shifter named Orion.
A Mate For Orion is book five in the series Forbidden Shifters by author Selena Scott. So all this time I’ve talked about the characters in each of these books- yet I’ve never mentioned the mystery- The Director and his evil plan- well I’m not now either. (LOL) However I will say that things are getting a bit more serious and all secrets are coming out. Ok so now the characters- Orion is a whirlwind and Diana has met her match. Talk about perfect. Enjoy!!
This story was slow to begin with, but became increasingly enticing to the point where I could not put it down. I feel like the ending was incomplete, I wanted- for lack of a better word- more. I wanted to know more than what I was told; it came to a point where I just couldn't put this book down. Over all, this novel deserves a high rating because it was deliciously good.
Buckle up and hang on! You are about to go on a wild ride! I love the charismatic characters in this series, and the action packed drama throughout. Must read series!
I am really enjoying this series. Different from most shifter reads, but just as amazing. I love watching the Wolf siblings adjust to life as a human. So many things are misunderstood, but they are learning quickly. Orion is many things. But it's his persistence that will really pay off. He was so patient with Diana, something she never expected. It also threw her off her game a bit. Orion was so sweet. His level of honesty was heartwarming and often at times just made me laugh. Diana, outside of the Center, was not what I was expecting. That hard exterior she has, is just that. Underneath it all, she is a bit vulnerable. She wants what we all do, to be loved. Although Orion has held back for the past year, he's ready to take the chance with her. The story is sweet and steamy all at the same time. Of course, the danger that is following the siblings is getting closer. An attempted kidnapping and a rescue, also introduce us to a new character. There is definitely a lot going on in this one. Action, love, loyalty and humor. But no good story is complete without a betrayal. All I will say is one of our characters is going to have a lot of explaining to do. But I'm not sure forgiveness is possible. While the book does not end in a cliffhanger, the turn of events will leave you twisted with anticipation. Book 6 could not come soon enough. I was lucky to have received an advanced copy. This is my voluntary opinion.
Orion is trying to navigate human way of living after his brother was badly burnt and they had to take him to hospital. Diana is head of a department that helps shifters integrate into society Orion has gone through a lot of mentors as he wants her to mentor him but that’s not her job. Orion has been doing whatever possible to spend time with Diana and nothing is working he has been in love with her since he came out of the forest one year ago his friends advise him to do what she asks work with his mentor and behave himself not to try talk to her all the time and bother her. Orion puts this plan into action even though not talking to her is hard. Diana doesn’t understand why Orion isn’t waiting for her by her car or getting text messages from him she confronts him and asks what wrong they end up going out as friends first of all but it doesn’t stay that way long but other dangers lurk in the shadows for Orion and his siblings. Someone wants all three siblings to experiment on and use as weapons they have set the trap and wait for the three to arrive. Orion and his siblings soon find out it is a trap they need to save each other. Diana finds out what is happening her first thought is to go and follow them and get to Orion she realises she loves him and needs to tell him.
Another brave 🐺wolf shifter wins his woman, evil agents notwithstanding 😉
💕This story has a lot of quiet, connecting moments for shifter Orion Wolf and Diana, daughter of a witch turned hyper-efficient social center adminstrator. I liked the pair, but especially Orion. He's pretty optimistic about his chances with gorgeous, in-control Diana, despite being illiterate and just recently integrated into human society after a lifetime lived in the remote Northwestern woods.
👥The romance unfolds simultaneous with a subplot that places Orion and his family in danger. There's some knuckle-biting action, loyal friends and lovers and conflicted betrayers all interspersed with some progressively steamier action between Orion and Diana. Phoenix's story in the previous volume in the series had more humor, but Orion's basic, open goodness, kindness and efforts to please and protect made this a feel-good, enjoyable read.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I quite enjoyed reading this wolf shifter romance & found it somewhat different to the normal shifter romance. The plot is well-thought-out & written with some unexpected incidents. The characters have good chemistry & continue to develop into emotional strong individuals although one of the characters does have devious intentions but he does redeem himself to a certain extent. There is: a male wolf shifter (Orion) trying to find his way in the unfamiliar world of humans, his siblings (Phoenix & Dawn), a seemingly closed off woman (Diane), her stepfather (Robert), a center for shifter integration, various kinds of shifters, drama, intrigue, some twists, humor, adventure, some action, danger, threats, evil, memories, attitude issues, verbal conflict, confusion, suspicions, warnings, deceit, betrayal, attempted abduction, unexpected help, declarations, contentment & a satisfying conclusion.
Beautifully told story! I love the rhythm of this author’s writing. The Wolf siblings are fascinating, with their better-than-ordinary natural abilities. In the year they’ve been living in human form, they have each improved their skills, found people they enjoy spending time with, formed deep relationships. Yet, there are still those out to do them harm. Some of the dialog between Diana and Orion just tickles me! Orion, regarding the gift of glasses he doesn’t want: “Now, not only do I have to wear them, I have to treasure them.” I love watching the push-pull dynamic between the two of them! The romance is amazing, the dangerous times intense. Excellent reading!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Well, I liked this one a lot as it is equal to the previous one, but it did take a long time for the story to actually get started. Orion is just to sweet for his own good. Grown up in the mountains with his siblings, far away from any human, with literally no chance of knowing how to act in the human world and so more than often situations appear where he does act weird... Diana is his best chance of getting introduced into the world. Very nice one - I very much hope for Dawn to find her mate in Jesse...
I loved Orion. He was a great character. He's still new to the human world after spending most of his life away from humans as a wolf. He found his mate right away, now he just has to convince her of that. Diana runs the center for shifter integration that is helping the Wolf siblings find their way in the human world. She tries to keep the relationship between her and Orion professional, but he doesn't make that easy. Great story and great characters. I really enjoyed reading this and can't wait to see what happens next.
Orion is so awesome and sweet, and I fell for his naivete and honesty fast and hard! Quill!! No words! Dawn was so naive! Quill seems to be getting a conscience and feels, but not enough of one!! I loved how Orion confronted Diana after the glasses store. He called her out!! Too fun! The director is still alive- too bad my prayers weren't answered yet! Looking forward to Dawn's story and praying she's not Quill's mate!!! Loved Jesse better!
Orion has been enamoured with Diana since first meeting her a year ago. He's still learning how to live in the human world. The Wolf family haven't cracked it all and there's still the baddie trying to get hold of them. A funny story about our customs and how they can be misinterpreted. I'm looking forward to reading Dawn's story.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Orion and his siblings had spent most their lives in wolf firm. Staying away from humans. Now that is was safer for shifters to come out they have been learning about society and how to function in it. Except for Orion, he was in love with Diana who ran the center for shifters. Diana didn't mux business with pleasure and she sure didn't date clients. Except something about Orion kept her coming back to him. Great story.
A mate for Orion: Forbidden Shifters book 5 By Selena Scott Kindle unlimited purchase Orion was sweet how he tried to get Diana to notice him. Diana is a woman that worries about what others see and this might make her miss her happy ever after. There is evil underfoot. But who is out to hurt the Wolfs. Wonder what happened to book 6? Will there be a book 7?
