Stranded with the Ex-Boyfriend

Rate this book
My ex-boyfriend is about to die in a snowstorm—because we’re trapped together and I just might kill him. Aaron broke my heart, stole my client, and forced me out of a job I loved. I don’t even want to see his stupid, handsome face, let alone pretend to be a couple. Too bad there’s a blizzard raging, and the innkeeper won’t rent us the last room until Aaron convinces her it’s our honeymoon. Like I’d ever marry him! Sharing close quarters should be a nightmare after everything he’s done, but with him pretending to be a loving husband, I start to remember the good times. How it feels to curl up next to him. The way his strong hands rub my shoulders when I’m tense. He’s charming when he wants to be, keeping me from going stir crazy and holding me tight when the power goes out. When I see how great he is with the kids at the inn, it reminds me of the future I thought we’d have together. Is it possible I was wrong about him? He claims he wants a second chance, but that might be even more dangerous than the storm outside. **Stranded with the Ex-Boyfriend is a romance novel with steamy scenes, no cheating, and a happy ending. It can be read as a standalone.**

Aaron broke Tori’s heart and when they see each other at a conference, Tori decides she can’t stay. She leaves and runs into a blizzard and then gets stuck on the road. Aaron saw Tori leave and decides to go after her and they end up stranded together at a B&B where they need to pretend, they are married to get a room. What will happen when old sparks return? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and steam. I liked the characters and the story is fun and entertaining. A good read.

I wasn’t sure if I would like Aaron at the start of this book. He sounded more like a villain then our hero. I’m glad he managed to redeem himself. Tori was just looking to get away from her ex but ended up stranded with him. But because they were stuck together they managed to find out the truth and the lies. This book was fun and sweet and I loved it!

Sophie Brooks is a really great writer. Her voice is great, the characters are overall likable. The feel of the book is charming and witty but I have some problems with the set up/story choice. What Aaron did was not forgivable at all. They broke up after he "stole" her client. Tori spend time, effort and I assume money, getting a client who's selling a 1.5 mil condo, which imo, isn't a "big" score in a city like Chicago (but that's a complaint for another day). The commission on a sale that size should be something like 3%. That's $45,000.

It turns out that he didn't steal the client, his mother (the boss) gave it to him. Instead of being honest, he lies to Tori and tells her he stole her client because she really loves his mother and apparently a dick boyfriend who you can't trust is better than having a nepotistic boss. It doesn't occur to Aaron that this is VERY a big deal. The reason this is a big deal is because the trust is GONE. This isn't about just work vs personal. If you're a real estate agent you will talk to customers at all hours, in front of your boyfriend. You will have papers at home. How can she trust him to not go through her bag and take her client info if he's already done it once? How can she talk about work with him? How can she share her day with him? How can she trust him not to do it again? She can't. And no top of all that, her brother is his bff and he lost them both. The man has the emotional intelligence of a banana.

His excuse for accepting the commission is that the mother would have "just given it to someone else." That's the biggest BS I've ever heard. He didn't stand up for her. He allowed her to be treated terribly and disrespectfully by someone he had sway over, not only allowed it, he condoned it when he accepted the commission. He profited from it. If he actually cared about her, he would have been honest with her, if for no other reason than she was working for an asshole boss who stole 45k from her. A boss saying she's new and needs help to close a deal is one thing. To take it away is something totally different. Her boyfriend taking the job is twisting the knife. Him lying about it is pulling out the twisted knife and stabbing her again.

This could have been a great reason to keep them apart, with lots of hurt and lots of drama but it wasn't treated with any kind of seriousness. It wasn't forgiven, once it was explained, it was simply forgotten. Instead, the real issue is that Tori thinks he cheated. He says he didn't and she simply believes him. Why? I don't know, he's already a proven liar. But this whole plot device only makes Tori look bad for sleeping with a guy who she thinks is in a year long, committed relationship.

He seemed very likable and I was waiting for the explanation to clear his name and this was pathetic. This is not the behavior of a stand up guy because he didn't stand up for her when he could have. This is the behavior of a coward. It was easier to lie than tell the truth, to face up to how he benefited from nepotism and got ahead without earning it. It left a very bad taste in my mouth that he then thought he could join her new business. He might have redeemed himself as a boyfriend, but he is totally and completely irredeemable as work partner. This guy is bad news and totally untrustworthy. If he fucked her over once, he'll do it again. The only way they could possibly work as a couple is by NEVER work together.

Just my opinion. It obviously worked for other people. I'd be interested in reading more of Ms Brooks work, because she is very talented, but I just hope she has better thought out stories in her other books.

I just finished reading Stranded with the Ex-Boyfriend and I loved it. The chemistry of Tori and Aaron were awesome even if they were not together anymore. Tori was an up and coming real estate agent trying to make her own company. Aaron was part of Chicago's best real estate firm. Both were attending a conference in Ohio. Tori was networking and handing out her business cards and Aaron was there with a very beautiful colleague. Tori was upset and left to go home but got stuck in a blizzard in her convertible. During her chapter of the book, she kept blaming her ex for her problems. But she was now stuck in a snow drift without any help in sight. Not long after a car comes into view and low and behold it is Aaron her ex-boyfriend. She really doesn't want to get in the car with him, but what choice does she have? They happen upon a B&B and have to trudge in snow to get to it. A young man answers the door and tells them he can't rent a room unless they are married per his grandmother's rules, so they have to pretend to be married. Tori has a problem staying with Aaron and it drives her crazy. She and he both feel something but can't get past the hurt. As the days go on and with no leaving there anytime soon, they try to make the best of it by interacting with the other guests. Soon Tori and Aaron are playing the part of the married couple, but which parts are real and which parts are made up? As the book goes on, Tori and Aaron start to feel something for each other, was it always there and did it just get swept away with all the hurt? I love how they banter throughout the book. Aaron is a great story teller and soon guests want to know how he proposed to Tori. He tells them and Tori realizes that that part wasn't made up. If they stayed together, she thought that is how he would have proposed. They really need to talk about what happened in the past to get on with the future. So, they do and there were a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunications that lead to their breakup. It was a fantastic book to read about a second chance to make it right. I highly recommend reading this story. There are steamy parts to it which will have you swooning!!!

Sophie did it again another hit in my mind. Can you imagine your ex-boyfriend who caused you to lose your job plus a real estate listing for a very expensive penthouse coming to your rescue after your little sport car slides off the snowy highway? Aaron finds Tori and stops to assist her but she is so angry at him she isn't sure she wants his help BUT what is her choice? They continue down the highway as the snow storm gets worse and worse. Tori sees on the map that there should be a place to stay just down the road so they decide to pull off to find the B&B and hope they have room for them. As they are checking in there is only one room left and they had wanted two rooms. The grandson of the owner then explains to them that they can not stay in the room together unless they are married because his grandmother does not believe in sharing rooms without marriage. So naturally Aaron says they are on their honeymoon they get the room. Then the "acting" has to start so everyone believes they are on their honeymoon. This is such an interesting story with so many families staying there with lots of stories of their own. You need to purchase this book and finish this great story.

3.5 stars.

I really like second-chance romance when the couple have recently broken up, but I kind of wished that we got a little more of the hate to love thing. There was an element of that, especially at the beginning, but Tori was very on/off with Aaron, like one minute they were joking around and the next she was mad at him again, and I wished that was a little more consistent. Also, I didn't understand why Tori would start a physical relationship with Aaron again when she still thought that he was dating another girl? I thought for a while that the author had just forgotten about that plot point, and that part was addressed waaaay too late in the book in my opinion.

I still really liked a lot about this book, like the chemistry between Aaron and Tori and the way the storyline with the creepy things happening at the inn played out. Also, as with the other two books in this series, the forced proximity trope was SO GOOD. This was probably my least favourite of the series but I'm so glad that I found these books and I will definitely be reading more Sophie Brooks in the future!

Wonderful Romance

This was an utterly delightful romantic tale. As I got into this story I remembered the first novel in this series "Stranded With The Billionaire" which was about this story's main female character's brother. I felt having read that story already really helped me to connect more with this second story. I must also admit that I look forward with anticipation to the third story in this series that will connect these first four characters to the upcoming two new characters.

In this second book, the characterizations were all well done, involving a small ensemble cast. The main male and female characters weather, both physically and emotionally, unsettling times but worked their way through past barriers to grow towards a future together.

I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel from the author via Prolific Works and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.

I received an arc for an honest review. This story brings us Tori and Aaron. Tori and Aaron are exs, that see each other at a conference. However, Aaron isn't alone, and so Tori decides to leave the conference and drive back to Chicago. There is a snowstorm, and Tori's car goes over a bank, and she has no way of going for help. Aaron saw her leave the conference, and knows about the storm, and goes in search for her. When he finds her, she is still hurt by what he did to her, but together they find an inn and in order for them to stay there, they have to pretend they are married. This grates on Tori's nerves. There are several others at the inn, all of them in the same predicament. As Tori and Aaron attempt to pretend they are in love, old feelings begin to creep in. There are twists and turns in this story - but the ending is great. I highly recommend this book.

🌨All is not what it seems: cute, 💞 romance with a touch of intrigue😊

4-4.5🌟stars❄
Good, well-written romance, with a varied and interesting crew of characters at the B&B, a pinch of mystery and intrigue with some unexplained shenanigans that target Heroine Tori, and a history of communication breakdown to remedy before the romance gets repaired. I enjoyed the couple's chance isolation and the perfect opportunity to set things straight. There's some steam, but it's not excessive (unless you maybe ask Kay, the supermoralistic owner of the B&B!). If you liked Stranded With the Billionaire, the previous standalone in the series about Tori's brother, there's every likelihood you will enjoy this one too. I did!😊

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Tori and Aaron have a rocky history and when she sees him at a conference she decides to leave. However she never counted on getting stuck in a snowstorm and needing to be rescued. Aaron knew that she left and was worried about her so he went looking for her. They end up stranded at an Inn together and have to pretend to be married in order to stay. They are driving each other crazy so they go and hang out with the others staying at the Inn. Soon its hard to remember that they are just pretending because everything seems so real between them. Will they get a second chance together?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is the second book in the Snowbound Billionaires series. Aaron comes with a few strikes against him and Tori has no thoughts of forgiveness. But a snowstorm is coming and there is only one room left at the inn, will they both survive the snowstorm? As much as one would dread this experience, it seems that it is exactly what Aaron and Tori needed to sort their past failures with one another. Apparently, there were lies and miscommunications that needs to be explained. Once the snowstorm ends will they leave together or still go their separate ways? A great story, I have read the first book in the series and it was awesome to see the secondary characters from that book get their own chance at a HEA. Excitingly waiting for more. Enjoy!

Snowed in and maybe getting a second chance together

Stranded with the Ex-Boyfriend is the second book in the Snowbound Billionaires series by Sophie Brooks. This is the first book I have read by this author and after reading the book description it looked like it could be a fun and entertaining book. I am glad that I decided to pick it up as it was both fun and entertaining. This is a light story with a couple ex's, Aaron and Victoria, who end up stranded in at a B&B during a snowstorm. There is nothing like long days and even longer nights to make you face each other, work some issues out and realize that you are actually meant for each other. But then again they may just kill each other before they figure things out.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This was a really good story, it's sweet, funny and interesting. When Tori saw her ex with another woman at the realtors convention she was at, she packed her stuff and headed home. Unfortunately, she didn't get far. It was snowing badly and she ended up running off the road. Aaron went to the convention with the intent of fixing things with Tori. Tori is smart, stubborn and a bit naive. Aaron is a jerk from the start to the end. I never warmed to him because he's arrogant, unfeeling and lackadaisical. If he really loved Tori he would not have waited a year, and until they were out of town, to explain what happened. He thinks it's fun to irritate her all the time. And he's pushy. Tori deserved better. But like I said, it is a good story, and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. Because of all the other characters.

I love this book!
This is the first book I've read in this series and I can't wait to read the others. I'm definitely buying them too...
The plotline was interesting, exciting, funny , and often sweet and sexy. I liked the idea of being stranded with the ex boyfriend from the beginning. And the author did a great job of telling their story to us. The main characters were absolutely likeable, the character development was noticeable. Of course now I want myself a boyfriend like Aaron. We also got to know a lot about the other characters too, and I can't wait to learn more about some of them in the other books from the series.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes sweet and funny romances with feisty and independent heroines and sexy alpha males.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

This is the second book in the Snowbound Billionaires, it is a second chance romance that is well-written and has wonderful characters. Tori and Aaron had a bad breakup a year ago and she has avoided him ever since he ruined her career and broke her heart, all in one sweep. Aaron has always loved Tori and when she leaves a conference and runs straight into a storm, Aaron leaves to go after her. They have loads of misunderstandings and hurt to deal with. Fortunately being stuck together during a storm while pretending to be married will force them to confront the past and perhaps a HEA. Sweet story, there is plenty of emotion pouring off the pages.....

This was such a quick book to read. I didn’t want to put it down, but obviously had to at times. Tori is such a strong, stubborn, and beautiful young woman. She wants to start her own Reality firm after having to wait for a year because she quit a bigger rival company. Aaron is a also stubborn and still madly in lobe with Tori. I loved their different interactions with each other. I was super anxious to find out what had happened the year before that had caused them so much turmoil that could destroy their relationship. There was a lot of build up to the reveal of this big secret, and it was good, but it all stemmed from miscommunication. I love their ending and want to hear more about all of them.

Tori and Aaron were once a couple that is until he spoiled things and hurt her deeply. They both attend the same conference, but Aaron isn't alone so Tori leaves the conference early to drive back to Chicago. As if her day isn't bad enough, her car goes over a bank in a snowstorm and there's no way she can go for help.

Aaron knows about the storm so when he sees Tori leave he goes in search of her. He finds her and together they find an inn but due to the storm rooms are limited and to get one they have to pretend to be married. Pretending to be in love with him is hard for Tori but the more time they spend together "pretending" the more old feelings begin to resurface. Can they go back or is it too late?

Aaron’s and Tori’s story was amazing.

Aaron was the ex boyfriend. Tori saw him at a convention for realtors. She left before she decided to kill him after their bad break up. She left in the middle of a snow storm. She was driving a convertible and lost control on the roads,

Aaron realized that she checked out of the hotel at the convention and he took off to find her. He found her stranded. He helped her to his vehicle and they found an inn to stay at. When checking in the young man told them they only had 1 room and couldn’t stay unless they were married. So they lied about it.

Can they handle being snowed in together pretending to be married or will they kill each other?

You must read to find out!

This second chance romance focuses on the story of Victoria and Aaron who broke her heart when his actions resulted in her quitting his mother’s real estate company. Victoria goes to an out of town conference which Aaron also attends with the intention of finding out why she broke up with him. When Victoria sees him with another woman, she gets upset and leaves in a severe snowstorm and ends up stranded on the roadside. Aaron rescues her they end up staying at a small bed and breakfast inn pretending to be on their honeymoon in order to get a room. Stranded with the Ex-Boyfriend
By Sophie Brooks
Main Characters: Tori and Aaron
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 out of 5 stars
This is a second chance contemporary romance with an HEA ending. This was s cute read and I especially liked Aaron's character. He was funny, cute and just an all-around nice guy. I just wish when I read these romances that the ex-couples communicated better from the beginning. Lack of communication seems to be the biggest thing getting them all in trouble with all the misunderstandings.

Yay! Finally!

We got these teasers in Liam and Fiona's book and I was dying to find out what had happened between Tori and Aaron and then how they were going to handle being stuck together during a snow storm. I was happy to see that their breakup wasn't Aaron's fault. But, one thing I was hoping for is seeing that Haley gets her beat down (conniving little witch). I will just picture it in my head that Tori ripped her a new with Aaron smirking beside her. Yeah, that's it!

I loved this book and now, now we need to know about Piper and Jackson being holed up in a cabin in the middle of nowhere during this same snow storm. Oh, I have a feeling sparks are going to fly more ways than one.

Great book! I love this series! ❤❤❤❤❤

Aaron and Tori were at a real estate workshop separately . Tori thought she heard something from a past coworker. She left without thinking about the snow storm raging outside. Her ex boyfriend came after her, knowing her little sports car would never make it. Aaron was right! He found her in a ditch off the side of the road. They were able to find a small inn with one room left. They had to pretend to be married because the lady that owned the inn had a rule. You have to read this book! It's just too good to miss! Watch how Aaron and Tori learn how to love each other again!! I highly recommend this book! ❤❤❤❤❤

Tori and Aaron, the H and H, have a complicated back story that is revealed to the reader a little bit at a time. Each of them has their own perspective on all that has happened between them, and everything is definitely not what it initially seems to be. The author redeemed Aaron in ways I was definitely not expecting

Getting stranded and snowbound is the best thing that could have happened to them! Excellent, entertaining dialogue and creative secondary characters help make this book a pleasure. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series.

Loved this sweet funny story with Tori and her ex Aaron. After she thinks he betrayed him she leaves the real estate firm they both worked at and started her own in Chicago. When they both go to a conference and run into each other she decides to leave in a blinding snowstorm and he goes after her. They end up at a B&B after her cars slides into a ditch and he picks her up. This is where the story gets interesting because they have to pretend they are married in order to stay in the only room available and he sure does not make it easy on her. Interesting story with some entertaining days and nights.

I really did enjoy reading this second chance romance. Definitely after reading this the main point is communication. Communication between the two main characters would have solved alot of their issues earlier on and their probably wouldn't have been a break up. But hey if no break up...no getting back together romance story. The banter between the two was comical and entertaining. Their attraction to each other was still HOT even though they had their misunderstandings. The story had a satisfying ending and can't wait to read the next one in the series.

This is book number 2 in the Snowbound Billionaires series. Tori and Aaron are exes that happen to meet up again when they are both attending a real estate conference and when her car is on the side of the road during a snow storm. They head to an inn but they need to convince the owner that they are couple and on there honeymoon. Sparks fly when these two are around each other and old memories start to resurface. Will Tori and Aaron get the second chance to have a relationship or will it burn out before they get the chance to see what can happen.
