I was just going through my Facebook feed when suddenly facebook showed me Aahvan, an interesting Hindi book. The cover and blurb were promising. I contacted the author and got to know more in detail. Later on, I bought the book's kindle copy, which made it our 8-9th Hindi book in our catalog. Unlike the books we have read till now in Hindi literature, this was well thought, at par with English literature / English authors.

Consider this book as a collection of at least two full-fledged novels (for me it is 3). The books start with the death of Rohan. Jayant, a family friend of the family was called by Rohan's father. They presented Jayant a will which was sent to them by Rohan before his death. Rohan died in an accident and within a few hours of his accident that Will reached to his family. Also, mysterious details found in his will made his family confused. Jayant with help of his forensic department expert tried to solve the case.

On top of that, they found another mysterious dead body. When they tried to dig deeper they met a deadly opponent and series of events that connects their investigation with. The parallel story started with the Naga clan and its terror/ nuisance on neighboring nations. Krishna had sent a confidant named Shon with his secret message to save these two nations. The story then takes sharp cuts with treachery, political, and military strategies to link Lord Krishna with some of the unknown facts of Mahabharata. Read the book to know more.

Hindi books we have read till now, except Sangram Sindhu Gatha by Vivek, none of them had uniqueness associated. They were just normal Hindi stories. Saurabh has well conceptualized this plot before putting his words. While reading the chapters related to different topics you will be bombarded with proper information. I have read many crime thrillers where the essence of the scientific background was missing. The cases would be solved by a charming officer just by some of his personal deduction. Where in here every information from Mahabharata and contemporary history was provided with references from researchers.

Talking about Mahabharata times, it was also well portrayed. It started with the situation of Bharatvarsha just before the Kurukshetra War. At that time nations were in dilemma which party to support and whether to take a neutral stance or not. On the other side, there were manipulative parties who wanted a war to happen so that after the war they can conquer Arya's as they would have lost too much in the war to fight another war.

Good points about the book
1. The amalgamation of multiple genres. Action, thriller, suspense, horror, politics, war, supernatural and what not.
2. When I said multi-genre, it's not just a mere touch of those genres. Each genre got proper importance. As I already told you it is a long read. You may make 3-4 novels out of the book :)
3. Those who love pure action, the author has taken great care while describing action scenes.
4. There are places in the book which make you scared, fearful or shocked. Dark patches are actually full with gory descriptions
5. Characters of Mahabharata were given full independence to bloom
6. A medium pace storyline. It will take time to come into proper action.
7. Easy to follow language. If you watch Hindi movies or tv shows regularly and if you can read Hindi, you don't need to fear. The author has used easily to understand words.
8. Good pick for 16+ and above (due to violent scenes)
9. The idea of signs and hidden messages was also interesting

Ignoring one or two minor weak points, overall a wonderful book. I think it should be translated into English and other languages for better reach.

Book Title: Part 1: Aahvan: Only a Hidden Truth Can Remain Free
Author: Saurabh Kudesia
Format: Paperback

Book Title:
The title of the book ' Part 1: Aahvan: Only a Hidden Truth Can Remain Free ' is very unique. As the title suggests, it's a welcoming and this book is part 1 of the series.

Book Cover:
The cover image of the book is a beautifully designed digital image of an Astra or weapon like looking image with tridents ( Trishuls ) and bloody serpents. The image creates a thrilling feeling.

Plot:
The story is about a family where Rohan and Virat are sons of Srimanth and Priyanka being Rohan's wife and baby boy Nischal, the couple's son and the mysterious death of Rohan and the little kid. Inspector  Jayanth, who returns from his training after taking up his charge visits Rohan's house only to find the shocking news of Rohan's and Nischal's death in a car accident.

Srimanth, Virat, and Priyanka explain Jayanth the indifferent behavior of Rohan from past months, his hibernation from the family, his unconditional love towards the differently born Nischal and his unknown life outside the house. Jayanth gets a series of shocks and surprises while conversing with the family. They find many discrepancies and flaws right from the will, accident reports, birth and operation reports of the kid, hospital details and many other things that also surprises and intrigues Jayanth to delve more into the case. As he starts working on it, terrifying incidents, horrific truths, and gruesome news keep unfolding.

The book is written with an extremely fascinating story which stays in the reader's mind for a long while. I really had a good experience in reading the first part and eagerly waiting for the second.

What I like:
1. The perfect mixture of fantasy, mythology, and present
2. Very interesting amounts of information on scriptures and mysterious things related to Vedic Hinduism, rituals and dark energies is found in the book.
3. The flaws in the legal system, medical system and humanity are very well explained.
4. The surge of mystery is very well balanced making the readers travel in a brutal and shocking reading experience.
5. The initial chapters including the Will written by the protagonist in unforeseen conditions spark an instant liking to read the book.

What I didn't like:
The story is so engaging that as an avid reader, though I took more time to read as the Hindi font was small in size, I could not find any type of errors.

Characters:
All the characters in the story are an intriguing bunch. Rohan, the protagonist's character is very fascinating. Rohan is powerful, captivating and enigmatic.

Narration:
This is the most fantastic part of the book. The author has excelled in showcasing his writing skills in narrating the story to a different level of imagination. Not every fantasy fiction does this kind of magic. There is horror, there is terror, there is emotion, there is humanity and there is life.

Language & Grammar:
The language is in pure Hindi and eloquent writing is found.

My Final Verdict:
Petrifying and fantastic fiction.

Book Title: 4/5
Book Cover: 4/5
Plot: 4/5
Characters: 4/5
Narration: 4/5
Language & Grammar: 4/5
Final Rating: 4/5

I am generally into reading English books but there are times when the title, cover page or the synopsis of a Hindi book fetches my interest that lands me into having the book in my shelf. One such book that I am done reading just yesterday is Saurabh Kudesia’s debut novel named “Aahwan: Mahabharat Aadhaarit Pauranik Rahasya Gaatha Khand 1”. The book is of around 300+ pages which initially made me doubt if I would be able to finish such a lengthy Hindi novel and over that, the initial 3-4 chapters have very tough vocabularies which made me doubt even more. But the moment the characters come into the picture and the thriller story begins is when the book becomes easy for the readers to go through and it took me just two sittings to complete the same – 80 pages in first and 224 pages in the second.

The book is based on several different dimensions of the story which makes it very interesting as there are terms and concepts that we are introduced with which we aren’t aware about. The great thing is that the fiction story based in the decade of late 2000s is connected with the era of 350 years ago and in a case, several thousand years back too. This is what comes as a shock because death has taken place in a completely simple middle-class Indian family and when the case starts getting linked with such phenomena, it gets surprising for the characters in the family and even for the readers. I wasn’t expecting such references of Mahabharata and Vedas but the way they have been synced up with the stories tells us about the capabilities of the debut author.

The narration of the book is little difficult – the section before the story begins - which might make many readers keep the book for some other day considering the tough vocabulary but later on, as the book begins, even when the concepts discussed in the story are tough and unheard, the way author handles it makes it very easy for you to understand them and even remember it. The characterization is very powerful. Rohan, even when dead, sounds like the protagonist of the book which is the first time I have felt while reading any murder mystery. The chemistry between Jayant-Rathod and Jayant-Dr. Mazumdar is treated very well. Even the plot is very thickening, author keeps on lightening it with the humorous conversations between the later pair. Some sentences literally made me laugh loudly. The support of characters in the Rohan’s family is also nicely woven in the storyline - the characters which I believe shall have magical role in the 2nd part of this book.

Initially, I felt that author would just relate few of the Bhagwad Gita’s quote to connect his story with Mahabharata but I am surprised with the kind of research work that the author has gone through that there are certain scriptures, Vedic texts, archaeological findings, Mahabharata, Bhagwad Gita, signs, symbols, images which play a big role in the story. How today’s technology is proven to be existing even thousand years back in our culture is what made my reading experience more delighting. Few characters are shown having super-human powers which is handled so beautifully that you trust that something like this can happen. Even in the pre-climax, when the mystery of Rohan’s death becomes more complex with the revelations of Dr. Verma’s findings, you end up believing everything – author should be applauded for making readers connect with his fantastical world in such a way. Author has given duly references wherever needed as many parts of his book refers to religious texts or real findings.

Now, talking about the drawbacks- As already mentioned above, the vocabulary should be such that book can be understood by maximum of readers. Secondly, the book doesn’t end up with clarifying any of the mysteries but only making it more complex – author should have scripted it such that something should have given a complete feeling to this book itself. It’s like investing your time in reading 300+ pages and not finding any result to the story. Thirdly, I believe there are few scenes which author has described too much which could have been handled with little less details – it would have helped in summing up this part of the book in just 250-odd pages.

Overall, this is one of the best books written in this Mythological fiction genre with a very unique concept which I haven’t read before. Also, the story has power to make you complete it in one-go with its fast-paced narration and thrill to know what more shall get revealed in this murder mystery. I am definitely waiting for the next part of this story. I give this book 4.5 stars out of 5. Yes! Please do read it.

Thanks.

Part1: Aahvan: Only a Hidden Truth Can Remain Free by Saurabh kudesia is a novel full of suspense and thrill with many other genre you get to read in it.

The plot is about a mysterious death of Rohan that occurs in a family, and how everyone involved with that person reacts to the situation and his will. There are a lot of things to unreveal in the plot which you shall find out by reading the book.

Well this book is almost twice as a regular novel, but I got to read almost every genre into it. It has proper mix of mythology with thriller and also suspense.

The narration is too good, but it is in pure Hindi along with sanskrit quotes, it is a perfect work of literature as far as narration and language is concerned.

Author has taken a lot of time writing this novel and his characters shows that as each and every character is beautifully written, there is sense of protagonist in every character introduced which is excellent a thing one writer can do with the characters.

This novel is written after a lot of research work, because it provides us with a lot of knowledge about various things such as scriptures and reference to Mahabharata.

It also covers emotions, love, hate, violence and everything which is associated with humans and humanity and touches us deep within at times.

It is properly edited which is always necessary in lengthy novels, and the cover is just so wow that it attracts you to pick up the book in an instant.

It has a great initial start which makes it gripping to read it till the end, though I felt like reading two parts in just one but i am really excited for the part 2 of Aahvan.
It is no lesser than a web series.

If you love the novels full of suspense, thrill, and mysterious murders then you must pick up this book to read without any delay.

"आवाहन" by Saurabh Kudesia is a gripping mythological/Psychological thriller with a lot of action, thrill and Suspense.

The Story line grips the attention of the reader from the first page and keeps it intact till the very last, the Puzzles thrown at the readers are really challenging and equally fun to read. It is a fast paced story so the reader will just find himself gliding through the pages.

I have really loved this part of the Series as the antagonist is not someone who is easily defeatable, he provides a really tough challenge.

It Will be really exciting to read the answer to these brain twisting puzzles thrown at us in this part. I am running to pick the next part.

And I recommend you to pick this really fast if you haven't already, do not miss a really good psychological-mytho thriller

There are so many secrets in this book, that even after reading it for me many thinks remained the secret. After reading this, it seems as if the events happening in it are going down in some corner of India and I am able to see everything through this book.

HINDI TRANSLATION:
Its language is not pure Hindi and not ordinary Hindi, its language is such that a simple Hindi reader can be quite easily practised by it. It uses hard words in very few places but its content is such that it can easily be ignored. So it's perfect about language.

WHICH TYPE OF PEOPLE WILL LIKE IT:
This book contains many mysteries related to the Mahabharata, so this book is very enthusiastic for people who are interested in knowing the history of Indian culture. Answers of many questions related to Mahabharata, if you want, maybe you can find them in this book. Along with this, I would like to say that those interested in Hindi books of Thriller or Mystery category will also like this book.

YOU SHOULD READ IT OR NOT:
So I liked this book very much. Ever since I started reading it, I feel like I have entered a different world. I read many books like this before: like Shiva Trilogy, Krishna Key etc. But if I tell the truth, then I felt very different for this book and the level of this book is probably in some other place. There is a reality on every page. Everything looks quite authentic.
So I really enjoyed this book very much. Now waiting for its next part. I want you to also enjoy this book, so from my side, you must read this book and take a different kind of experience.

THANKYOU

Hats off to author, to stick to "Hindi" Language for writing this book. I was sceptical before to read this book as this is only released in Hindi Language. But after reading thing book. I know the rationale that why Author sticked with Hindi Language only.

This book cannot be justified by any other Language. The narration, characters build up, story telling and putting the facts with full proof references from Upnishads and Other Granths is commendable.

This is a High pitch intense story telling book which will keep you on the edge to know what happens further. I am really glad that I chose this book to read finally after its 2 years of Release.

The Research done by Author is highly appreciable because gathering the facts is a very patient and regressive work.

Overall, I would rate this book 5/5 for following Reasons:
1. Narration of Story
2. Putting the facts with sheer clarity
3. Character Build-up
4. Last but not the least the topic which connects the Decade 2000's, with the legacy Mythology of India

Such a interesting hindi book which is pretty big to but it's worth it. It's the part one so more parts are on the way to coming...

This book contains Superhumans factor, Mysteries about death, Pandulipi (a historical language) secret and a war which is still going on after its ending....
Blend of all of these things make this book a perfect read.

This book contains strong hindi language so sometimes some letters might be confusing for some people's but most of the people gasps every concept of the book easily.

Character development of Dr. Majumdar was magnificent it will described in such a beautiful manner and also other characters like Rohan, dr. Swami and other also described very well.
Overall i loved reading this book it's a decent read.

MAHABHARAT AADHARIT PAURANIK RAHASYA GAATHA - khand 1

By Saurabh Kudesia

What an amazing and a bang on book!

Not just the name, but the story inside the book is really interesting. We never come across such amazing books. The book is about medical reports, pandulipi, about studying dead bodies and much more.

Though the book is a bit lengthy but due to fast paced you won’t realise when done reading it. The book is in Hindi which is a plus point. The cover of the book is really attractive and so is the name. The narration is good so is the character development. A must read for all!

P.S. this is a must read for all!

This was my first ever Hindi novel that I have ever read in my life and honestly, I loved it. It is a mythological mystery novel that is written by Saurabh Kudeshia. Every single page is worth reading. I liked the way the story has been described and also the characterisation was too good. My favourite character in this story is Dr Majumdar. He helps the protagonist in the best way to unravel the secrets.

It is part one and the story is still seeking the end. The book is published under Hind Yugm Publishing house and has 304 pages. It seems to be lengthy but it's not boring.

I would love to recommend this book to everyone who has this interest in reading mythological fiction.
Just go for it.

Book cover is so intriguing and well designed with a chakra and shastra around it.
Content:This story about Rohan his wife priyanka and their son ,one they met with an accident and Rohan and his son dead and story takes a turn.
Rohan friend Jayant who is also a police officer came for their help. After Rohan and his son Crimination ,a series of different incident started happening and his family always suspect about Rohan mysterious life.
There are so many pandulipis and things related to ancient time found in his room.
Now i can't tell more about it.

There are so many secrets revealed in this book and more in Part 2 so i am eagerly waiting for part 2.
My Opinion:after so many long time i read such a good book in hindi which i can enjoy reading.book is unputdownable when i started reading but book length is 500 and language is hindi so it will take some time otherwise its an entertaining, full of mystery and a complete thriller.

You have to read this book to know more about it.
And most importantly mythology fan there is a treat here you can read more about Mahabharta and sri Krishna and some intresting facts too.
Author research is commendable and story is well crafted so it can keep you hooked till last page, there is no point of time so you can thought of boring.
One thing bit disappoint me that too much blood or description about death so sometime i feel creepy.
Otherwise its an awesome read and for hindi book lover Its a golden opprtunity.
Revommended

If you ask me about this thick novel, Aavhan by Saurabh Kudesia, I would say in one word: mind-blowing. I took time to read the novel, as it’s over 500 plus pages. But the kind of revelations it made, took me to some other world and I was shaken to the core. I would want him to translate this book into English, and there he stands chances that it becomes the best-seller in India soon. There are many elements, like suspense, thriller, puzzle-solving, murder mystery, unknown secrets from the mythological book The Mahabharata. All these elements, from time to time, keep this book stitched and I cannot wait anymore to see the second book in the trilogy. I want to see where it all goes…that Rohan mystery, that black shadow of death, the fate of inspector Jayant, and other of villains of course. Since the preface, till the end, the quest is insatiable and there is a need to discover more. I personally got into the web of the story so much that some chapters I re-read only to make sure that nothing is missing from the chain. Written in Hindi, but the kind of narrative he has used is worth commendable. Great work by Saurabh.

Good for part1

Good for part 1. Seems like it will run long. Part 4 not available on kindle. Don't know why? Can someone update?
