Husband To Go

Rate this book
He’s huge, growly, off-the-charts gorgeous – and also my mom’s fiancé.

I’ve always wanted to meet the man of my dreams, but it wasn’t supposed to happen like this. I went to my mom’s engagement party expecting the same as always: flowers, cake, and lots of boring conversation.

But instead, I saw him…

… and even worse, he recognized me because we accidentally met last night!

I swear, I didn’t know who Tanner was then. He was just a hot guy at a club, with perfect lips, blue eyes like lasers, and rough, strong hands that made me melt. I don’t even usually do *that*, I swear.

But now wedding bells are ringing.
Tanner’s the groom …
… and my mom’s the bride!

What do I do?

It’s crazy. It’s insane. Reality has just gone flying out the window along with all semblance of sanity. Instead, indulge in a steamy story about the man of the house and his tempting brat, but don’t be surprised if you need a cold shower after the pages burst with flame! Reader beware.

As with all my books, this one is safe, with no cheating, and a HEA guaranteed.

Inconsistencies Killed the Vibe

2.5 stars - Even though it was predictable, I enjoyed the first half of the book. It was light and fun, mostly. Well, at least as light and fun as a book about the daughter going naughty rounds with her mother's fiancé can be. 😉

There was an unexpected twist at that point that could've been fun? interesting? but wasn't well executed. After that, I got a bit annoyed as there were timeline discrepancies left, right, and center - the wedding is tomorrow; no wait, it's been a week since the twist and the wedding was today - back and forth like a bad game of ping pong.

There were other inconsistencies that had the same effect - Tanner got excited about the idea of Kylie having his kid but they separate because he doesn't want kids. Seriously? Like I said, a bad game of ping pong. 🏓

I really wanted to like the book more than where I landed. I was up for the taboo but, while it delivered on that, it just didn't pan out, for me. The naughty times are what kept me going. I'll give the author another chance at some point but it is unlikely to be soon.

Sooo, where to start?
This is the first book i read from this author.
When i started reading this book, it was totally what i was expecting to find from reading the blurb, which is a good thing. Generally, i think the author has a good way with words too, which practically saved and granded her the second star (which was a very close call). The storyline? thats were practicaly everything went wrong.

*from this point on some spoilers are included, sry*

Like i said, at the beginning i was pretty happy with it, there was the beautiful, innocent, shy, girl, and the steriotypical ultra hot guy she meets in a bar and has sex with. In my opinion the sexscenes were hot too.
They meet again at her mothers party to find out who the other is. so far so good.
Basically the next part only consists of them having very short encounters that include sex, no talk, no meatings of any kind outside this sexual encounters, that would have allowed them to get to know each other even the tiniest bit. Basically he treats her like a 4 time hook up (which she more or less is). All but one of their sexual encounters were in places with super high risc factor to get caught, which would have been a disaster. The marriage to her mother is a rather important business decision to him, despite that, he considers to call of the marriage for a girl he doesnt know and only had sex with like 4? times, which does not fit his character at all.
One day before the marriage between Tanner and her mum, Kylie quits her university and admits herself into a home for mental ppl and even agrees to get electroshock therapie done to her, because she thinks she cant get over Tanner otherwise. I mean, really? who admits himself and agrees to electroshock therapie because they are heartbroken? that was pretty much were it was all over for me.
In general, there are a lot of inconsistencies in the story.
One point i found kinda funny, is that Tanner is more or less afraid to have sex at the "front entrance" (so far they only did have analsex) because hes afraid to get someone pregnant. (Anyone ever heared about condoms and all?) well, two sentenses later, he has condoms, because well its important to use them , not to catch anything. Ofc they never used them before, not even in the bar when they first meet each other and he thought shes just a random hook up. Where was his protection against aids and co that time?

*End of the spoilers*

And theres just so much other stuff that doesnt add up or is kinda ridiculous. So in short, the characterbuilding was not well done, and the story was full of inconsistencies and ridiculous stuff. I had a hard time reading to the end. Im seriously surprised about the 5 star reviews, i wonder if they read the same story as me.

I honestly don't know why I tortured myself with this book. Issues. There were so many issues I had. But it was a train wreck I couldn't look away from. So bad. Don't do it. Learn from my mistakes.

2.5 stars.

I had a few problems with this one. I am no prude when it comes to the bedroom shenanigans, however, all of the anal in this story was a bit of a turnoff.

I think I always have problems with stories that have sexually inexperienced women who agree to do some more advanced sexual things. The fact that she was drunk and propositioned a guy was fine. She had enough wits about her to hedge/hesitate when his dick rubbed against her ass.

Also, for him to be in his forties, his reasoning for all of the anal was absolutely ridiculous. If he did not want kids, he could use condoms. I also didn't like that even though Kylie kept trying to break it off, he kept ignoring her, but he was so cold and uncaring.

I never felt like he was falling for her like she was for him. He just seemed so cold.
Her mom was an uber bitch and I think the whole mental institution angle was crazy.

There were too many taboo subjects in one story. Older man/younger woman, Step-dad/Step daughter, anal all the time.

Heat level was 🔥🔥.

Great story

Tanner is engaged to Veronica Mitchell purely for business then meets Kylie and slept with her but didn't know that she was Veronica's daughter. He ends up breaking up with Veronica and married her daughter even though Tanner is older than Kylie, they got their happy ending

excellent novel

What a refreshing novel! Very impressed with the character development and the true love found by a self professed lifelong bachelor who didn’t want children. But that slowly changed over time

This was one f*cked-up story. The MMC was engaged to the FMCs mother, except the FMC didn't know that when she first met him in a club. Two days later, she met him at the engagement lunch they held. (Side Note: the MMC and the FMCs mother never slept together because "she wanted to wait until after the wedding"...even though she had been married 3 other times. GAG)
She tried to break things off...or tried to convince HIM to end things with her mother. He wouldn't let her end things, and he refused to end the engagement. This man wouldn't take her NO seriously and always managed to have sex with her whenever they were in the same vicinity, even though she'd tell him they couldn't keep doing it.
He pushed her so far that she took a break from college and admitted herself into a mental institution where they did shock therapy. She felt it was the only answer to "fix herself" and rid herself of the bad, amoral attitude she had allowed herself to fall into where he was concerned.
This was one selfish, immoral, twisted, and depraved man. He wanted the business connections he would get from marrying the FMCs mother, but he didn't want to end the relationship with the daughter. He even tried to convince the FMC that she truly did not want kids, when she really did. H went so far as to say, "Sweetheart, you don’t know yourself...You’re young. You have no idea what kids are like, and how they can turn your world upside down.". Seriously?! Yeah, he was really that selfish. It's why they only ever had "back door sex". He didn't want to take the chance of getting her pregnant. It's also why he only ever dated older women. They either already had children and didn't want more, or they didn't want any at all.
Even worse was when the FMC confessed to her mother what had been going on...and the woman didn't even bat an eyelash. She even admitted she had been aware of the looks her former fiance had thrown toward her daughter. She really didn't care if the two of them had an affair. She only wanted the man for his money. Yeah, this was one f*cked-up book from beginning to end.
I couldn't rate this book with any stars. It was just too messed up all the way around.

When I first started this read I assumed it would be a light taboo/smut read. And for the most part I was right. It is taboo and very smutty. However in no way is it a "light" read. And when I say "light" I'm not talking about the length of the book but of the intensity of it's plot and characters. Which I found in this novel to be HEAVY.

I really disliked the characters (and I only got to chapter 5) . Not because they were doing taboo things but because of there attitude towards doing those taboo things. The male lead, Tanner, being the biggest "no go" for me when he admits his morals are very few and how he's okay with his relationship with Kylie as long as she's silent about it. To me that's just not okay. And can lead to things like black mail/manipulation.

I overall just didn't enjoy how Blaise the characters were with continuing having sex after finding out who they were going to be to each other. And I know alot of you are thinking it's a taboo read of course they have sex it's the whole plot line. Well I disagree I thought they would build some real emotion. Some real tension of I want you but can't have you. Of character growth! When it comes to Kylie's mom in Tanner's eyes. Basically I thought I'd get a CLASSY taboo, slow burn romance, with real plot depth. Clearly I was wrong and I'm just getting lack of morols and copious amounts of anal sex.

Tanner and Kylie

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

The blurb promised "no cheating" but apparently the author has a flexible definition of what constitutes cheating.

Billionaire Tanner is engaged in a business arrangement to marry Veronica. Kylie goes to a club where her friends encourage her to go talk to a hottie in the VIP area. She ends in an unexpected rear entry with a man who never gave her his name and didn't ask for hers. Two days later at her mom's engagement party she meets Tanner, her mom's fiancé and the hottie from the club.

Tanner's an engaged womanizer that falls in love with a younger woman that happens to be his future step-daughter. Lots of drama ending in a satisfying HEA.

I'd like more info on what happened to his sister and why he was so upset over North Cross but I'm so happy that Veronica is out of Kylie's life.

Thanks for making this quick read available in KU. JP

this book is pretty good but...

**SPOILER ALERT**
So i feel like there were some plot error that hust made u scratch ur head. Other than that it was a pretty good book. I just dont get the sexual part of it. Don't get me wrong the sexy scenes were hot af. But she's supposedly a virgin in everything but does anal first with his monsterous cock. Then when finally they do regular sex at the very end there is not talk about her being a virgin. Also i thought the split because one wanted kids and one didn't. Throw in the plot error and its like that's a side thought on why they get back together when it was such a HUGE issue when they split. Over all its a good book but mainly because the sex scenes and because there r quite a few of them.

undecided how to proceed

I’m just as confused as the main characters, Tanner and Kylie. The general story has merit but, the inconsistencies make it difficult to get behind the characters. Tanner and Kylie want to be together but, shouldn’t. Tanner is selfish. Kylie is weak. Veronica, Kylie’s mother is the absolute worst kind of person. Kylie’s Aunt Jane is a saving grace in this crazy sort of romance.

There’s a happy ending and it’s a long road to get there. There are the unspoken words, the emotions not acknowledged, a stint in a psychiatric facility, a bridezilla and rom-coms with ice cream. I’m all for Tanner and Kylie finding their way together but, I think their journey is rough and unnecessary.

No. Just no. This book had so many issues. I felt personally victimized by this book on so many levels. There were so many issues I honesty should have dnf'd at the 25% mark but it was late at night and I couldn't sleep.

The biggest issues I had was the fact that Kylie thinks she needs to drop out of college and admit herself into a mental health hospital in an attempt to get over Tanner. There was absolutely no reason for Kylie to make this choice. It literally came out of no where. After only two weeks of knowing this man and only interacting with him on 3 or 4 occasions it was incredibly melodramatic.

This story had potential to be good but unfortunately just came up short for me.

So the first part of the book is very back and forth is regards to both the main characters. Then you have what I consider the middle, where everything comes to a head. This part thoroughly annoyed me and almost dropped the book to one or two stars. That's how much I didn't like that part. The end redeemed it a bit. In an effort to avoid spoilers, since all I really want to do is rant about the part I didn't like, I'm not going to go into it. Suffice it to say, I didn't feel like it belonged in a romance novel and I seriously feel like it detracted from the story in general. So all in all, it was really just okay by my standards.

Husband To Go

You know Tanner had to have been messed up to stay engaged to a shrew like Veronica for so long. One had to wonder how she had a sweet girl like Kylie, that wasn't drawn into her mom's crap. Fates brought Kylie and Tanner together, even though he was dead set on marrying her mom. It's like Kylie showed him there was more to life that making money and having connections.

OMG this was a story that had everything in it that made for a good read. It me happy sad and want to hit the girl's mother. Why, because her mother thought only of herself and no one else. It is an older man and younger woman you're romance with a twist that is for sure. But in the end they got their HEA.

Wow!

For being such a raunchy, taboo story, I would have never thought it could be so good. It hooked me and reeled me in from start to finish. There were unexpected twists and turns along the way, and it was a real story; not just something created to make a buck. I loved it! This is the start of a promising looking series.

Her mom's fiance

What a brilliant story which I totally recommend and hopefully others enjoy it as well. Who knew that the man she met and had sex with at a club was also the man whom her mom was engaged to. What's a girl to do when the perfect man keeps saying things to her that makes her do naughty things? Sexy book with such a taboo subject.

Memorial rollercoaster

SC Adams really captures the emotional rollercoaster that a girl will go through during a relationship. Especially if it is when you are sleeping with your soon to be new dad.

I am on a reading kick with stories that I don’t usually read. This read is a bit taboo but has some hot scenes. It’s an interesting story that will keep you interested in how these characters end up. I will check out more by this author because I’m curious about some of the other stories written.

A journey to HEA.

First time reading a book by this author but won't be the last. I enjoyed this story. I won't lie there was a situation that had me worried for the heroine. Ultimately they made it to their HEA in the end.

Book was ok...

The book had a good storyline, but to me was kind of immatur-ish. The billionaire was not like any billionaire I've ever read about. One who couldn't make up his mind. I also wasn't thrilled with all the anal sex as birth control.
