Bronx is the President of the Steel Horse MC while also trying to run his father’s construction company. He doesn’t have time for a woman in his life, but that doesn’t stop Skylar for barging in and needing him. Bronx can’t let her go once he knows she needs his protection. She’s not at all what he thought he wanted or needed, but she broke down all his walls and buried herself in his heart.
Skylar just lost her mom and moved back home. She’d left a bad relationship in her last town and she swore she wanted to find herself again. She’d become timid and shy and she wasn’t a fan of this new version of herself. When she finds herself in trouble she goes to Bronx, a man she’d only met a few times, but knew could keep her safe. She’s not supposed to fall for him, but how can she stop it when he’s just so good?
I voluntarily read and reviewed this as an ARC Blair Grey hits a homer with this series starter. Bronx and Skylar seem as different as night and day but when he's the only person she has to turn to for help I found they really have more in common than I thought. Both are trying to find their footing in a new part of their life but a common threat opens their eyes to their true path. I highly anticipate forthcoming books surrounding other characters mentioned.
Blair Grey has done it again! Bronx is the first book in the Steel Horse MC universe and it is one hot joy of a ride! It has depth to this story and the way Blair writes these characters you become invested in them throughout the story. This is a thrill you won't want to miss. I received an ARC copy and am leaving a voluntarily honest review.
I loved Bronx & Skylar's story. Good characters. This was an exciting & intriguing read. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Needs editing for errors and content - Potential there for a great series
I rated this story 3 stars because the potential for this series is there, but the author tries to do too much without enough substance to accomplish everything.
Many years ago I started reading contemporary romance stories, then progressed gradually to darker themed genres such as mafia, MC, cartels, outlaw MC, alien / sci-fi, abduction, reverse harems, etc. This story kind of bounces among a couple of them. Some of the intimate scenes are almost sweet, some are not. Then the action scenes fade out, while others don’t. While it wants to be a darker themed, alpha, outlaw MC story, it just doesn’t imo.
There are also grammatical and content issues throughout, as well as some potential triggers for sensitive readers (some examples are listed below).
⛔️ Contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, restraints, spanking for pleasure, etc.; violence stereotypical of the genre such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, betrayal, coercion, blackmail, threats, subterfuge, money laundering, gun running, cheating, prostitution, human trafficking, mafia / cartels, drug use, drug manufacturing, drug distribution, as well as the mental, physical and sexual abuse of females and children, etc.
There are a few grammatical issues but they are minimal and primarily comprised of incorrect word choice / tense, typos, punctuation issues, missed words and extra inserted words. The content also seems to skip at times, where there may be scenes that were cut or missed that should have been included, which made it feel like the story was incomplete. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
It's been awhile since I've read an MC romance and I'm glad I read this one. It's not as gritty, dark or violent as most which is more to my liking but in turn this was a nice change. This author is new to me and if her other books are like this I will probably continue with this series and check out her other works. I loved the back and forth between Skylar and Bronx, Skylar is a 3rd grade school teacher who just moved back to her hometown for a few reasons which aren't pleasant. Bronx is the President of the Steele Horse MC which he just took over. Skylar needs Bronx' help because of a stalker, but when he decides to help their lives change. Only thing that really annoyed me was Skylar, at the beginning it was like a repeat over several pages of how crappy her life is and so forth....I just wanted to smack her. The heat level I would say is a 2-3 ... which there's nothing wrong with that, means more story than intimate moments. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy from Bad Boy Update and my opinions are my own.
This is the first installment to Steel Horse MC Series and it is fantastic. Congratulations to Ms. Grey for her talent and creativity in dreaming up this Series of bada$$ Men that ride on gleaming bikes and stick together as a Brotherhood should. Within these pages, you are introduced to an unlikely pair; an ex-con, construction worker (soon to be owner) & the President of the Steel Horse MC, Bronx, as well as a beautiful school teacher, Skylar (who is need of a hero on 2 wheels). Trust that there is plenty to keep you reading along as this dramatic romance continues to a wonderfully written happily ever after.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Bronx in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
I highly recommend reading any of the publications of Ms. Grey.
I received the ARC from Bad Boy Update. I love Blair's MC romances and this new club is no exception! Bronx is the new President of the MC and he is trying to take over he father's construction company. He thinks his life is fine the way it is, until he literally runs into Skylar! Skylar is back in her home town after the death of her mother and leaving her abusive ex. She is trying to start a new life and never planned on meeting a hunky, tattooed MC guy. She never thought she would fall for someone like that, but when she keeps seeing a man watching her she turns to Bronx for help. What they find out will make her question her entire life and as the danger increases Bronx will do anything in his power to protect her. I love the beginning to this series and can't wait for the next one !
I love a good MC story but unfortunately this is not one. I honestly couldn't wait to get to the end. The whole story just moved way to fast. I didn't feel connected to the characters at all, we only find out a little bit of back story but then that's it. And skylar WTAF she meets a guy twice for a brief moment and then all of a sudden shes so dependent on him and she really didn't seem to have a backbone I understand she went through alot but still there really wasn't any fight in her at all. Then all of a sudden their in love and shes wearing his mark. Just NO!! Also the book seemed to be told mostly through what they thought and they didn't seem to have many actual conversations. The story really needs work.

Blair Grey writes fantastic stories about Motor Cycle Clubs and their members. This book is the first on the Steel Horses and is about their President, Bronx. He is buying out his deceased father's business partner in the construction business and has recently been elected in his father's place as president of the club (not gang). It all takes place in the small city of Beaumont, Texas.
Skylar just moved back to Beaumont from Dallas when her mother fell to cancer and died. She recently met Bronx who is the uncle to one of her third-grade students. This is the exciting romance between them as she came under the protection of the Steel Horses.
I liked the storyline of this book but some times it felt hard to continue reading it. A lot of the sentences and paragraphs in each chapter felt very repetitive and that made it almost unbearable at times. I felt like it dragged the book on more than necessary. I could hear myself saying over and over again “ok we get the point. Let’s move on already.” I think if the author took out some of the repetitive lines and added more details about the characters or what was going on in general then maybe I would be able to give it a 4 or 5 star. I didn’t hate the book but it didn’t really hit the mark for me either 🤷♀️
This is the first book in the Steele Horse MC SERIES and definitely started the series off on a high note. Bronx is busy and overwhelmed with being president of the MC Club and running his father's construction company. He has no time for anything else, especially a woman. Things take a different turn when Skylar comes into his life. Plenty of action, twists, surprises and explosive chemistry make for a drama filled book. Well written with strong characters and an engaging story. No cliffhanger and a good ending. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Blair Gray writes solid MC stories and Bronx is the start of the Steel Horses MC series. Bronx and Skylar are compelling characters, he's an alpha MC president and business owner, she's a loose ends following her mother's death and a failed relationship. They meet, have an instant attraction, and he has to protect what he feels is his. The book is a well paced, has great sizzle, and just the right amount of drama. Great start to the new series and less than $1 or free with your KU subscription. Awesome! I received a copy from Bad Boy Update and this is my honest review.
Skylar is a character you will like immediately. She just lost her mum and is getting out of a bad relationship. When trouble shows up to seeks out Bronx to help her. Bronx is the president of the Steel Horse and a construction worker, in fact he owns the business. When Skylar comes to him for help their journey begins. It's not a smooth journey but one that will keep you reading until the end. I was given this book for an honest voluntary review
Quite good, everything except one thing was okay so three stars for good writing and good plot. This was first time for long time I meet a book written in so distant and even cold way, that I it felt like a piece of an article in a newspaper. There was many emotions told but every of those from so far that it was mostly like reporting of them. How it was done? I don't know. Now I'm not sure I'm going to read next one although I bought the whole box of Steel Horse books.
Bronx has his hands full as Steel Horse MC President and running a construction company. When he runs into Skylar, she peeks his attention and goes on to become so much more when she is the focus of a cult's return to their town. She is all alone now that her mother has passed and the cult wants her back in their folds. Will Bronx be able to keep Skylar away from them and out of harms way? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I loved this well-written storyline with seemingly opposite main characters who fall for each other. The Hero, MC President and construction worker while our heroine is timid, has recently lost her mom and also coming from a bad breakup. There is attraction, chemistry, danger and protection needed. This is an enjoyable read. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
Another new series from this author and once again a another hit. Bronx and Skylar come from different backgrounds but when she is in need, he steps up and helps her out. In fact, his whole MC helps out. When you least expect it you just might find what you didn't realize you were looking for. A Happily Ever After... The book was well written and very enjoyable.
I read a lot of MC books and while this one was OK, it didn't quite did enough to get me really invested into the story. The characters weren't quite believable as a couple, and they didn't seem to set each other on fire.
Overall, not a bad read, but there were some areas of disappointment.
Skylar moves back home after the loss of her mother where she meets Bronx. Bronx isn’t looking for a relationship but when Skylar is in trouble, he is there for her. Plenty of drama steam and intrigue. I really liked it.
Started off good, getting stories behind main characters. Seven chapters in, not so much. Main characters have met, not really a lot of interaction. Still talking about the same thing (introduction). Plot of story happened too quick with no real detail.
This story was incredible, exciting, and just plain fantastic!!!. It has everything in it for a fantastic story. Blair is an amazing writer and phenomenal storyteller 😁😂.
I’ve got the box set. I think it was only 99p but after reading Bronx. I couldn’t read anymore. Flicked through half of it. It was more thoughts than conversation and when I got to the good bit it was over in a few pages.
When I think of MC books I think of a grittier storyline, while this is a good story, it doesn't seem like an MC unless it would be considered a vanilla MC book. This is only my opinion tho.
More like 1.5 stars. It was bad, but not so bad I didn't finish it. Steel Horse is a poor excuse for an MC, and Bronx is a wishy-washy wimp. Good premise, poor execution.
This book rambled on and on...sometimes more internal thoughts or descriptions then needed.
She’s observant enough to notice a logo on a tshirt but not the patch on his jacket or vest? The house has at least 2 bedrooms but he’s camping in her living room? I get Skylar has been through a lot but she’s so weak I almost gave up reading the book. She went from weak to snarky back to weak...WTAF!!
All Bronx could think for the first 10 chapters was getting laid, buying the business and getting laid...it was repetitive and boring because he can’t date her but suddenly he’s telling her she needs a tattoo to show she’s with him!
Just when I thought the book was FINALLY getting better - smack - back to mediocre boring but yay happy ending 😏
I somehow got the bundle (I think it was free) but i can’t find any more books in this series on Goodreads. I’ll continue reading but I can’t recommend this book
