Lady of the Church

Rate this book
Sabrina Dean did not sign up for her role as First Lady of Everlasting Love Ministry, but that’s what happened when she married a preacher’s kid. The role requires far more than she bargained for. There is the pressure of perfection. Isolation from not being treated like a “regular” sister in Christ and the judgment. Oh, the judgmental remarks she endures. It also doesn’t help that things at home aren’t as perfect as people think. Sabrina puts on a brave face, one of many, but how much more pressure can she take?

Great Read

Well written Christian novel, Pastors are held to a higher standard than others in this story he and the First Lady really had to deal with a lot. They handled it in a normal way like regular people. Thanks for showing them as human.

Sabrina Dean did not want to be a First Lady, but she loved her husband. Sabrina and Daniel have been married for 11 years but she was not in love with her husband. Daniel was the pastor of Everlasting Love Ministry and put his church first and his family last. Sabrina was on the verge of filing a divorce if things did not change.

Not a bad story, it is not a Christian nonfiction novel, so do not expect that. There is mild cursing, alcohol use, and brief violent altercation, the story is just based on the life and trials of pastor and his wife. The characters were interesting and the issues within the church and marriage were entertaining. However, the book should have ended sooner than it did. The Bria storyline got old quick and the "drama" became a tad bit corny. Overall, it was a good book.

This was a great storyline and the characters and situations were so real. Pastor G sure angered me with his refusal to set priorities and I could surely see where First Lady was coming from. And Pastor was way off base with his assistant and where was his discerning spirit? The church politics was dead-on and with the church 'Christians' thrown in, a whole 'nother layer was added. Loved this book, and would recommend it to anyone - it's not just about church, but people, family, love and faith. Very maturely presented, it is a wonderful Christian read. There were bouts with editing issues, and I hated to rate for that, but this book was too good to be diminished by errors.

First of all, this book is over 400 pages long. I already was hesitant about possibly being in the same book for 4-5 hours. Long books give me anxiety, especially when the synopsis is only a couple of vague sentences. The beginning was just too slow for me to care what happened. I feel like longer books should work overtime to keep reader’s interest, and this book did not do that for me. It could have been a good read but shorter stories are my personal preference.

Great Read

I laughed, I cried, I fussed and then remembered that although this is fiction, it is a true representation of some of the struggles faced while trying to do the right thing.

Awesomeness

I really enjoyed this story. People take the Pastor and First Lady for granted so often. We forget they are human and have feelings outside the church. Then there are people of the Church that dislikes the First Lady just because she is married to the pastor. God called him to lead His people, she has to support her husband, but also continue to enjoy life in an appropriate manner. I loved it. Thanks so much.

OMG this was a great page turner. I really enjoyed this book. There were so many lessons learned in this book. As we go through life we need to set boundaries, communicate and quit being judgmental. I was able to connect with the characters. This book will make a great bookclub discussion.

Very relatable

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I could see me reacting the same way Sabrina did. We don't always think before we act. Impulsivness can block blessings God has for you. It's better to pray and wait for your answer to come from Him.

This book was fire 🔥

Omg I loved this book! I was hooked from page 1!
Sabrina was tired of being ignored and being last in her marriage and Gabriel was so busy being the best pastor that he forgot about his wife and kids until he thought he was losing his wife to another man!

Excellent!!!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Well written. So thankful for the tasteful ways anger and sex were handled. I could identify with all of the characters. They were real people. And I really liked the subject matter. So nice to be able to choose this book as entertainment and turn off the tv!

Being in a one-sided relationship for 11 years is very taxing. But having faith to push through and overcome fear and trust is all worth it In the end. This read had me laughing and mad at the same time at the things that people do when they don't get their way.

Great Story-teller

I read this story in one sitting. The biggest problem I found, there were so many misspelled words , even so I still had to give the story five stars.

Good story and easy read...

Storyline is great. There are grammar errors throughout. I read this story because I was looking to get into more Christian fiction. Great use of scriptures. Only wish the writer went into more detail about how the characters were actually feeling.

Great book

This book shows the power of God. A Christian woman who allowing the Lord to lead her in his way. It got hard not to cheer for the divorce. God used it to show that if you don't have a balance between home and work.if momma ain't happy no one is.

First book l read by this author, Loved it !

Church folk are regular folk just like everybody else. I admit I had to learn this the hard way. Through prayer, the Bible, talking to knowledgeable people and life experiences I've learned to not be so judgemental. The author makes you examine your expectations of others and also shows you what can be accomplished if you trust God. Thank you for once again enlightening my spirit.

Awesome

This is a must read, it shows if we keep our eyes on God. He will see us through, at first I didn’t think there marriage was going to work. Reading this book, I literally prayed for someone that might be going through the same tests. God always prevails.

Nice light reading

It's a bit slow, but gets better near the end. A few too many characters that actually serve no real enhancement of the story plot.

Interesting story line

This was a good story line with the potential to be a good book. Unfortunately, there were a lot of misspelled words and grammatical errors that detracted from the reading experience.
