Change is coming. Old rivalries will be forgotten.
The aftermath of a violent attack on District Three has left ITF Director Bill Taggart feeling uneasy. All is too calm. The Indigenes have returned to normal life; even his wife is moving on. Bill wishes he could do the same.
When a surprise illness starts spreading through the Indigenes’ home, Bill’s greatest fear comes true. It’s a medical problem he’s not equipped to deal with. Setting aside his fears, he asks an old rival for a favour. But when conditions in District Three deteriorate fast, he has no choice but to give in to his sworn enemy’s demands.
A virus is loose, and his rival may be the only one capable of identifying its source. If Bill and his team can’t figure out the origin of the virus soon, it could end up destroying two civilisations.
Genesis Cure is the seventh book in the exciting Genesis series. If you like unlikely heroes, broken worlds, and edge-of-your-seat tension, then you'll love the latest instalment in Eliza Green’s dystopian society thriller series.
Eliza Green tried her hand at fashion designing, massage, painting, and even ghost hunting, before finding her love of writing. She often wonders if her desire to change the ending of a particular glittery vampire story steered her in that direction (it did). After earning her degree in marketing, Eliza went on to work in everything but marketing, but swears she uses it in everyday life, or so she tells her bank manager.
Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, she lives there with her sci-fi loving, evil genius best friend. When not working on her next amazing science fiction adventure, you can find her reading, indulging in new food at an amazing restaurant or simply singing along to something with a half decent beat.
Eliza Green continues to challenge our imaginations with her science fiction world where humans and their “improved” counterparts attempt to maintain an uneasy alliance in this multi-planet series that is both brilliantly executed and intriguing. The power has shifted and relationships are strained in this dystopian world created to help the human world survive and now a mysterious illness is running unchecked. Bill Taggert must set aside old grievances to seek out both its origination and a cure, all while his marriage crumble around him and life as he knows it is swirling the precipice of disaster.
GENESIS CURE is part of a continuing drama-filled tale of survival with grit and characters who come to life on these pages, once again. Turmoil, danger, mistrust and one man’s desperate need to hold things together will collide with daring to trust and a race against disaster. Who can be trusted? How does one prioritize what is important?
I have followed the journey Eliza Green has created and it is riveting science fiction that crosses genres just like everyday life. A little romantic upheaval, a lot of unrest and the terror of the unknown. Fabulous reading that never gets old or tired! Rapid-fire tension on every level as we find ourselves caring what happens to old friends!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Eliza Green! This is my honest and voluntary review.

This is such an interesting Sci-fi series. Each book is an island all by itself. Building up to one heck of a unpredictable and unexpected storyline. This book moves fast and keeps your attention throughout. Truth is stranger than fiction. Pulse pounding and breathe quickening read. Scary and hauntingly like what we are facing with Covid19. Received ARC copy and this is my honest opinion.
I feel pretty assured in saying that this is the best book of the series so far! Continuing the story of the Genesis saga in humanity's future, the book follows Bill Taggart and many familiar characters as they battle the next crisis to befall them. They had thought everything was more or less over. Or is it actually too quiet?
Honestly, I am blown away with both the quality of the writing and the way the characters have developed and grown over the series so far. Everything is visceral and so real. You can smell what they smell. See the buildings. Feel the sensations. The Genesis Series is highly recommended and I also suggest you go check out the rest of the works by this talented author.
If you enjoy well-written and realistic science fiction with credible characterisation and events, then read this series.
Although the characters are familiar to readers of the series, we get enough background artfully shared that you don't feel lost if it’s been some time since you read the last novel, or you are new to the series.
As you would expect from the final novel of the series, there's a lot of tying up of threads. But in true Eliza style they will not be as you expect or be predictable. It does mean we get a slightly slower start than fans imagined after the exciting ending of book 6, Genesis Variant, and it's set several months later.
So lots of questions readers will have at the start will not be answered easily or immediately. Is Tania dead or in the Nexus? We get hints that are reeled out in an enticing way that keeps you reading and not wanting to stop. What happened to the remaining conditioned and elders? Not a spoiler but I did comment on Facebook to Eliza that life imitates fiction ... Make up your own minds as the release is timely.
Stephen is still in charge of the District 3 Indigene’s with Serena, but the ever-challenging Margot keeps telling him something's wrong with the Nexus. They all think she's mad and ignore her. The rebellion of the younger Indigene’s looks like it has been quelled for the time being.
Bill is in charge of the ITF and its rebellious human population. He's trying to keep control on his own, now that Laura has gone to 'find herself' in District 3. The elders disappeared, presumed dead by the population, leaving him as lonely and miserable as you would expect. I love that we open with him at his favourite restaurant – just what I do when I am sad, go and eat comfort food at my favourite eatery (before lockdown that is).
When I started reading, I thought this was the last novel but there's plenty of threads left for another one.
I was given a free copy by the author for my fair and honest review.
This was absolutely my favourite book in the series so far!
We are treated to the continuing stories of our favourite characters, along with being reintroduced to some we haven't seen for a while. I loved the expansion of Margaux's character arc and it was great to learn a bit more about Julie.
My favourite, and most nail-biting, part of the book was the ongoing story of Bill and Laura's relationship. What type of life will Laura choose and what will that mean to Bill? Will they get back together or will they move on to different people? It was heartbreaking seeing the struggles they both go through and I was really rooting for them to get it right in the end (you'll have to read the book to find out if they did or not, though).
I enjoyed the insight into the world of the Indigenes and how the relationships operate between the different districts and the different leaders. This aspect of the story highlighted just how close they could easily come to resemble human society, despite the differences between the two races. It was interesting to see that despite their telepathic abilities, there was still the facility for deceit within and between Indigenes along with the very human desire for power and control. And, I love how Laura's explanation of her ability allows her to explore this further.
I have a hunch that maybe the inter-district relations may be further revisited in future books in more depth, but I'll have to wait and see if I'm right - I hope so.
Clement remains a mystery to me and I hope to learn more about him. From the previous book, I was really expecting to learn some great secret about him - that perhaps he is not really what he seems. Instead, we are shown quite the opposite - that he may, in fact, be exactly what he appears to be. That being said, I still feel there is an air of mystery about him and more exciting things to come from this character.
And, then there's Harvey Buchanan who's plans are kept so close to his chest they may as well be a second skin. You can see and feel that something is coming, you just can't quite figure out what yet.
This is an emotion charged and action packed installment of the Genesis series and well worth the read.
Lastly, a word of warning in that this book is the first one to end on a real cliffhanger note. Where previous books have ended in a way that might have desperately left you wanting more, it could still have the feeling of a finished series about it if no further books were forthcoming, this one has a true cliffhanger which demands another book to resolve it.
Note; I received a free RC of this book in return for my honest and unbiased review of this book. As mentioned earlier, it is my favourite, so far, in the Genesis series.
Am I glad I read it - absolutely Was it a waste of my time - not at all Would I sit down and read it all over again - yes, I would Would I read more by this author based on this book - yes, without hesitation
Sometimes a long series of books does rather run out of ideas, but I am happy to report that this is not one of them! After the exciting ending, full of action, in the last book, we pick up again a little later. As most readers will think, those actions by Tanya did alter her destination, and not for the good. As you may guess from the name of this book, many Indigenes are affected by this change, and suddenly we have a virus (no spoilers, it's in the blurb) that is causing devastating effects. So the race is on to find the cure! In addition to that problem, we start the book with Bill missing Laura - will she return? Also can Stephen take on the mantle of leader successfully? Our favourite villain - Harvey is still up to nefarious things and generally causing trouble. Don't you just love a good baddie? There is plenty to keep you interested in this book, and I really enjoyed reading it.
Eliza does it again in the last addition to her exciting Genesis Series. In Genesis Cure she continues paint an amazing story with well built characters that we can relate to. I always enjoy reading Eliza's novels because she continues to grow as a writer and I can't wait to see what she will come up with next. Received ARC copy and this is my honest opinion.
More action than previous installments. Virus hits the Indigenes and Bill has to enlist Harvey Buchanon to help. Enjoyable story, however, I feel the conclusions are getting quicker and quicker. What is Harvey REALLY up to???
