Synopsis : Featuring delightful photographs, this book explores the wonderful world of both popular and unusual pets. In simple language it discusses the joys, as well as the responsibilities, of pet ownership. This book is sure to be a hit with everyone who has, or event wishes they could have, a pet.
Review : This book series is a wonderful idea that encourages parents and children to read together. We Both Read books are designed to invite the parent and child to share the reading of a book by taking turns reading aloud. Beautiful, sometimes humorous, full-color photography nicely compliments each page and while one page is read by an adult, the other is read by the child. More challenging words are placed in bold text for the parent to help as needed. This story features common pets (dogs, cats and fish) as well as uncommon pets(snakes, frogs and pigs) that people enjoy and care for. Teaches proper care techniques as well as responsibilities involved with owning a pet.
Critical Reviews :From School Library Journal, "A good choice for beginning readers and their families."

Not the most exciting story ever BUT finally a book both Little Fellow and I can read, without there being a huge argument! I think the parent reading page and kid page make it a more fulfilling story.

Sindy McKay's book honors pets and their contribution to our society...and the healing of the human heart. There's dogs, cats, bunnies and even snakes for kids to admire thru tons of colorful photos. Hope you like 'em. It's my gift to all of you.
