The wolf shifters of House Canis have come to power. But with great power comes great temptation, and the current King of the House has gone mad with it. A hardy group of rebels has broken free and is fighting back. It is a dangerous time to be a wolf shifter—and an even more dangerous time to be the mate of one.
But these women aren’t just ordinary women. They’re tough, confident, and more than a little sassy. The physical dangers abound, but what good is a wolf shifter as a mate if he can’t handle a little rough and tumble with the pack? These women certainly aren’t going to put up with any wusses!
Read along with a blanket and some ice water, because things are about to get hot as tensions spike, lovers quarrel, and the united might of the rebels challenges for the right to rule House Canis and to lead them forward. There’s never a dull moment in Plymouth Falls!

Riley is one of those early-morning people you love to hate, because she swears she doesn't need caffeine, even though the coffee-maker is connected to her smartphone. She lives in a three-story townhouse by the good graces of a tabby-cat who rules the house, the couch, the table, well, basically everywhere. When she's not groveling for forgiveness for neglecting to pet her kitty enough, Riley is strapped in to her writing chair coming up with crazy worlds where she can make her own decisions of when feeding time is and how much coffee can be drank without her friends--of which she has three--holding yet another intervention that they threaten to post on the internet.

In book 1 she came over to the farm to confront the men when they are too loud. Now she is back with news that will rock Chief's world. In book 4 the rebels take back Moonshadow Manor. Realizing it takes a lot of political correctness to keep the peace and because of this, he has to make a hard decision that is becoming increasingly difficult to keep. This was a great box set. When dragons awake centuries later that is a big learning curve. Five are awakened to face a ancient enemy, vampires once thought vanquished. It was a fight they were willing to die for.
I loved the plot line and steamy romance. There were some awesome scenes that were, definitely, amazing. I give it three out of five, because... Invest in a good damned editor. Heather's best friend's name changing in the middle of the whole chapter, kinda irritating. There were a lot about of grammatical issues, and typos(he that should have been she, the wrong name used, other things like that). I can see why it's offered for free on Kindle unlimited. She's an excellent author, but Melissa and Michelle, are two very different names. Plus many others, but that struck me as the worst, and in the last book, no less.
Loved the carry-over of style from the Ursa set of books. Well-defined characters, a bit slow to recognize what they have in the way of mates, but they get there. The only reason I didn't give this (and the Ursa book) five stars was the grammatical errors. Unfortunately, they pulled me out of the flow of the story every time. One more round with a STRONG editor, and I'd be willing to re-evaluate for that fifth star.
I will be reading more by this author. Next will be the High House Draconis books.
If this book series had better editing, I’d give it 5 stars, but the occasional grammatical and even contextual (referring to the wrong person in a sentence) mistakes are a bit of a distraction. Story wise, though, this is a great series with strong characters and a solid story line. Each individual book is the perfect length (for me, anyway) and I appreciate how the stories of the different houses and the characters intertwine.
Really enjoyed this series. You got to know & care about several of the characters & the pack as a whole. A few errors where characters were called wrong names & he was used instead of she & vice versa but otherwise very well written. I'd love a follow up to show how the new mates are doing, their offspring & now the "family" is re-united again how it's moving on.
This is a great series you can start anywhere in the series they can act as a stand alone or start with the very first series house Ursa the shifters the bears then you will start to get a picture of all the shifters and what is truly going on and the wolf shifters all lead you to the to the dragons truly a great series of books.
Another great series to be taken off my TBR pile. No wonder this author is one of my favorite with these compelling stories. It is thick with suspense and so hot. I highly recommend them to the genre lovers. For my part, I'm off to read the next series in my TBR pile. The House of Ursa. I can't wait to start it and see the stories this author created.
I wish we could give half a star when rating books as it was more than a 3Star but not quite a 4Star read for me. There were parts in each book in the series that could have been proofread better. (Thus the 3-3.5 stars) Overlooking that I feel it was a very good read & storyline if somewhat repetitive held my interest to the end. So much so I have purchased her Draconis series. Enjoyable.
I thought I could never the exceed the excitement of Ursa House. While House Canis has a more refined buildup the final book was edge of your seat consuming. Wonderful characters, well developed and offering a connection to Ursa House that was well appreciated.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading the series. Now we just need a book that ties all the lose ends together to show how the houses, and mages all came together, united. I’d Really like to read that one. Thanks for the three series.
This book is a jumbled mess! Author forgot what she wrote in previous books in the series about characters. Words are missing or out of order or both in sentences. Subjects are addressing themselves when they’re clearly speaking to other characters because of editing errors. This series has the worst case of editing I have ever read. The story would have been awesome if the author didn’t feel the need to reiterate the characters feelings about the same subject every 4 or 5 pages. It made a great story line drag! I hate that in order to get a conclusion I need to read the Dragon series. I can only hope it is not as frustrating as this one. I would like to know why the dog that had a big role in the first book just cease to exist in the third book? You need to reread in order to try figure out what the author meant to say but because of errors in the copy didn’t.
This series is full of action, but there is a ton of character development also! The whole premise makes for an action oriented storyline with tons of steam added in! The pace is breakneck and the tone is tense but hopeful. The characters are so vibrant and kickass that you are totally drawn into the stories! Each story has a different problem, but the overarching theme carries us into the next one. There are a few editing issues, but that does not keep you from being pulled into the series and anxiously awaiting what happens next! All in all, this is a super fast, action oriented series with superbly well drawn characters. If you like that along with steam, then this is for you. Read the High House Ursa box set and then this one, and finish off with the 5 stories of the High House Draconis (not yet available in a box set, but maybe soon)! Prepare to be blown away by these 3 series. Enjoy!
