Prosecutor Genevieve Holst has a spotless record when it comes to putting the bad guys behind bars.

When her boss and friend is accused of murdering his wife and two children, he requests that she defends him ... much to the disgust of not only the investigating Homicide Detective Owen Graham, but also her friend's sister.

Being the brilliant lawyer she is, she manages to get him acquitted. But she's beginning to have doubts about his innocence. Could she have freed a possible killer? Could he have committed those heinous crimes after all?

His actions have aroused her suspicions and when he threatens Genevieve, she only has one person who might be able to help her ... the detective who warned her against defending her boss.

But is she going to be able to just walk away?

WHY is the second stand alone novel in a series of psychological suspense thrillers. Well written, there's lot of page-turning action with a romance thrown in for good measure. The characters are deftly drawn, and I love how she and her three besties interact with each other.

Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of WHY. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Highly suspenseful and violent, this crime drama kept me in suspense throughout. Genevieve, known as Gen to her friends, thinks she doing the right thing by defending her boss in court for the murder of his wife and children until his unexpected behaviour, both past and present cast a new light on the situation. At first Gen's character did not appeal to me as she is loud, brash and obnoxious, but she definitely grows on one and as more of her personality is portrayed, she pulls one in and made me root for her. After all, it is her background and tenacity that gives her the impetus to survive and push through circumstances. Her unfortunate attraction to her nemeses Detective Owen Graham gets in the way of her clear-minded thinking and logic, but when she needs help, he is the one to turn to. Owen's gut tells him that Perry is responsible in some way for the death of his family, but the evidence points elsewhere. When Gen insists on taking the case, Owen finds himself keeping a close watch on her. As events keep piling up, Owen comes to her rescue more than once and he finally has to acknowledge his feelings for her. The problem is piercing Gen's wounded heart and winning her over. Owen is opposite Gen in every way, and yet he is so very right for her. That is if she can live long enough for him to tell her. The novel is a standalone and comes to a successful conclusion with interesting and entertaining supporting characters. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

When a verdict of not guilty comes down during the trial of the century, Gen should be on top of the world. But when things are not all that they seem and she delves deeper into the real crime she uncovers answers that only led her into more and more trouble. But when Owen a detective on the case becomes too involved will they both become the next heads on the block? the reader wil be locked in form the prologue and hold onto your hats for the twist at the end!!

Why is the highly anticipated second book in the Stalker Series by Megan Mitcham. After reading the first riveting book, “Who”, and loving it so much- I really had very high expectations for this story. I wondered if Ms. Mitcham would be able to even match, let alone surpass, the sheer brilliance of book one. But, I really shouldn’t have doubted her though, because this book is every bit as good as the first- and I am having trouble picking my favourite out of the two. It’s so intense, compelling, and clever. Colour me hooked on this series now, it’s that addictive! I will be expectantly waiting for the rest of the series to release- ready to pounce as soon as they do!
The book/s could be read as standalones, but as each book focuses on an individual from a great group of very close friends, I really recommend reading book one before starting on this one. As I said earlier, book one is such a riveting psychological thriller, it’s a story that deserves reading in its own right- but it also introduces us to the recurring characters, and also knowing what happens in book one will only enhance your reading experience of this story.
“Why” follows Genevieve Holst, who we met in book #1. She’s a formidable attorney, who has just successfully represented her boss, clearing him of murder charges, after he was accused of killing his wife and two young children. He’s not just her boss, but also a friend and mentor. She had to do what she could to help clear his name as there was no way he could be guilty of such a heinous crime. Right? But no sooner had the ink dried on his release papers, he began tweaking her suspicion. Did he actually kill his family? Did she help to free a killer? And this is where this wonderfully suspenseful story really takes flight…
The story is a very steamy and suspenseful crime thriller that’s packed full of intrigue, dramatic developments, mystery, tension, danger, and plenty of action. As with the first book, the intensity, suspense and dramatic effects were so well developed, cleverly crafted, and entirely compelling. It was so engrossing and easy to lose myself in the story (in the best possible way) that I found myself devouring the pages, completely caught up in the exciting developments and trying to figure out what would happen next. It was so deftly woven- and is a true testament to Ms. Mitcham’s writing prowess.
I am eagerly anticipating the next instalment- “How” (Book #3) - FBI Agent Libby Irish’s story.

Thank you, Ms. Mitcham!!

I have real enjoyed reading the second book in this series. Megan gives you a really sense of excitement and danger mystery in this sequel. There some tough decisions to be made. Gen is a strong woman according to her friends "she's the baddest bitch in attorney in NYC". This is not your typical novel it has Romance, Thriller and slot of suppense. It worth the read I am looking forward to book 3

I loved Who. I really liked this one, but not as much as the first book. Partially because of Gen herself. Larkin had issues, and I didn't think things could be worse, but Gen was harder than Larkin.

Genevieve is a hot shot prosecutor in New York. The top female lawyer who has not lost a case yet. Unlike Larkin, she did not come from a rich background, but worked hard to get to the top. The oldest of the 4 friends, she has always been the most irreverent of the bunch too. When her boss is accused of murdering his family, she is asked to defend him. Although she has never defended anyone in the past and truly believes that all those she prosecutes are guilty, there is always that small percentage that is innocent, and she truly believes that Perry Carter is innocent. Perry is not only her boss, but her friend. She has interacted with him and his family for years. She knows how much he adores them so she takes his case. Knowing there is a conflict of interest and that she should not be defending him, she also wants to help her friend.

Owen Graham is the lead detective on the case. Gen and Owen have been on opposing sides for the entire trial, but . that doesn't mean he doesn't find Gen attractive nor she him. After the trial is over, Genevieve begins to see a side of Perry that makes her question her belief that she made the right decision in defending him. When new information is brought to her attention, she can't seem to stop herself from delving into the past looking for answers to some startling news.

Like the first book, some things are unknown, others are guessed at, but at the end, both heroines almost lose their life. Gen was one of those people that you applauded for being so outrageous and out there, but she was also a bit clueless. When she goes into a neighborhood that chews you up and spits you out into pieces, unarmed and ignoring her phone...well, things go from bad to almost dying. The fact that she doesn't know how to fight and basically lets herself get beaten up. She freezes rather than reacts. Not the kind of vulnerability I expected from this tough as nails attorney. But I really liked Owen. Sweet, but tough. Fair and honorable. A really good guy that she just could not ask for help until it is almost too late.

Another great story in the series. And the best part is that we keep getting all of our favorites from the first book too.

I liked the plot in this book but I thought that there wasn’t enough time spent on the relationship development.

The plot was good in theory but not much happened as this book takes place at the end of the trial so that’s not shown, Genevieve goes to work sometimes and sometimes not but not much of it is shown. I liked seeing her find more clues about the murders but when she went to do something about them, the outcomes weren’t that interesting or nothing was really done about them .

In this book the only character you get to know is Genevieve and that’s only because it’s written from her perspective. There were a lot of characters (her friends, Douglas, Owen, her co-workers) but they aren’t really shown in this book. Genevieve speaks with her friends maybe three times throughout this book so you don’t really get to know them. I liked Douglas’ character in the last book and Genevieve seemed to like him so I thought that there would be more of him in this book but he’s not shown often either. I didn’t find Genevieve and Owen’s relationship believable at all because in this book they talk twice then something happens where Owen stays with Genevieve for a night and then the next time they see each other, they talk about love. I get that they knew each other from the beginning of the trial but the book doesn’t show their relationship developing which made their ‘loving’ each other abrupt.

I don’t think that I’ll continue with the series as the side characters weren’t shown in this book so I’m not interested in reading books about their stories. I do want to try a different book by this author as maybe I just picked the wrong series to read by her and I hope that other books will have more developed characters and show relationship development better.

Holy wow! It’s been a while since I’ve read a book by this author, and I had forgotten how exceptionally well she does romantic suspense. Or maybe it’s more of a psychological brain scrambler with a side of romance thrown in. My mind feels like it’s spent an hour in an industrial strength blender, and I have yet to pick my jaw up off the floor.

Genevieve Holst is a cracker-jack prosecuting attorney who tries to make up for failing her sister by putting the bad guys away. When her boss, mentor and friend, Perry, is accused of murdering his wife and children, Gen dons the defense attorney cap to represent Perry. With her spotless success rate, it’s not long before Perry is a free man again. When it should be business as usual, Gen starts to see and hear things that cause her to question Perry's case, and it’s not long before her biggest nemesis from the case, Detective Owen Graham, becomes an unlikely ally.

What follows is a complex, intricate, convoluted storyline with twists, turns and surprises guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat and reading voraciously to see what happens next. Mitcham takes us deep into the psyche of her flawed, elaborately crafted characters, securing the reader's investment even further.

This one left me breathless. Gen is one of the most amazing heroines I’ve ever read. She's intelligent and determined, with an admirable moral compass and the kind of inner strength we'd all love to have. While she and Owen seem like polar opposites, as their layers are peeled back, we find that they’re more alike than they realize, and they're truly a perfect match.

This isn’t a lighthearted romance, but lovers of suspense and psychological thrillers will enjoy every part of this story. It's intense, enigmatic and hypnotic and unequivocally worth the read. Don’t miss this one. It's not only exceptional, but impossible to forget, as well.

I’ll start this review by saying I’m a huge true crime fan of anything and everything in real life outside of books, TV shows, movies. Anything goes when it comes to this particular genre. My curiosity always gets the best of me and not just for the victims but for the people who commit such atrocities against humanity. But anyway, here goes nothing with this review:
In this novel, we follow a successful attorney with an A-one record and a client guilty of the crime before him but how far would she go to maintain her supreme record to free her client?
In this book, we follow prosecutor Genevive Holt who finds excitement in getting bad guys off the streets. She’s not been beaten in court thanks to her mentor/boss, Perry. But Perry’s been charged with the heinous crime against his own family (killing his wife and kids), she’s called to defend his innocence. She soon comes to question his innocence after letting him go free when she discovers him throwing a few too many festivities at the scene of the crime and sneaking around with a gorgeous woman.
Soon after she’s up to find out what he’s up to while trolling him but she finds the same detective who suggested she not take the case to begin with threatens to arrest her for stalking if she doesn’t stop. Holt must decide if she should save her career by letting a killer go free or bring justice to the victims by placing him where he belongs: Behind bars. . .
This is the second standalone novel of a series that had me on the edge. I’m hooked! I’d like to say I love this author and how she builds up suspense in her books. That alone will have you on the edge of your seat eager to read page for page. I couldn’t put this one down till I was finished.

Wow, just Wow! Ms. Mitcham has penned another edge-of-your seat thrill ride in WHY, book 2 in The Stalker Series. We first met Genevieve Holst in Who, book one of the series, but if you haven’t read it, don’t worry you won’t be lost. (But I do recommend it.) According to her friends she’s, “the baddest bitch attorney in all of NYC,“ and she proves that when she switches from prosecuting to defending when her boss, Perry, is accused of the heinous murder of his family, and she wins the case.
Then when Perry begins acting strangely she starts having second thoughts, and begins investigating and butts heads with NYPD Detective Owen Graham, who advises her to leave things alone for her own safety and because Perry cannot be retried for the same crime. It only complicates things that their chemistry is off the charts! And Gen’s conscience won’t let her rest.
What follows is an adrenaline fueled thrill ride full of twists and turns, with Gen’s 3 besties, Larkin, Marlis, and Libby never far behind. These ladies know what true friendship means. And of course there’s romance with a detective who knows how to treat a lady, which throws Gen for a loop. But Gen is a great character with a wicked sense of humor and gives the detective a run for his money.
Why is not your typical romantic suspense, but more of a psychological thriller with romance that I highly recommend. Even though Why is the second book in the series, each book is a standalone, but I equally recommend Who, especially for background on the characters.
I am loving this series and now I can’t wait until How, Libby’s book, releases.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I was glued to my kindle reading this book. It started off interesting and then became slow. Too much interest in the case. Then once the Detective started getting more involved (his times kept me riveted) it picked back up. Then it became a “hold onto your hat” wild crazy ride until the end.

The main characters were good and their connection to each other is like dogs and cats. I struggled to put the book down when they had their verbal sparring. Sparks seemed to fly! I really enjoyed Owen! He is so much more than I expected. His drive to get her is amazing! I wasn’t such a fan of the big bad lawyer(Genevieve) persona. When push comes to shove and it seemed to often...she flailed. She became a simpering woman. I got the impression she was a “take no crap” bada$$ lady but she seems to be that way in the courtroom only. She does have a wicked mouth on her and is able to spew some great comebacks to other characters.

My other issue is the time for the injuries to heal (seems non-existent) before either more are inflicted or a sexual escapade. Just seemed weird she wasn’t ever in pain past the next afternoon. I think I had this problem in the first book as well.

Overall it’s a story that gets better the further I read it. It took me into the wee hours of the morning because that ending...Whew! Totally worth it! I do recommend this book and I look forward to the next.

Holy moly!!!! I absolutely ADORE this series. This is the second book of the adrenaline filled Stalker Series. Where it's not 100% necessary to have read book one first, it might help to understand a few of the characters better. This series is FILLED with twists and turns, secrets, treachery, betrayal, heartache, friendships and family. Basically the making of a kick butt, adrenaline filled book! At the heart is a strong, wicked smart woman who fought every step of the way for all she has. Her family by choice is a wonderful group of highly successful women. All of whom would drop everything at the drop of a hat for each member of their sisterhood. So far two of these witty, amazing women have been the center of both books within this series. There are so many levels of deceit, drama , crazy adventure, psychological drama, and enjoyable.crazy... I devoured this book and can't wait to see what the next in this series will be. I was cheering on our main character Gen, and her friends through the entire book. With every twist and turn of the story I held my breathe excited to see what was next!!! There were most definitely a few surprises along the way! I loved this so much I plan on re-reading the first in this series again 😁❤

Why is the 2nd book in the Stalker Series by Megan Mitcham. It can be read as a stand-alone but there is a little bit of a continuation from the previous book but not any significant amount that it would affect your enjoyment or understanding of the book. Like the first book in this series it is a fantastic psychological thriller with a romantic aspect to it.
Having read the first book I was really looking forward to reading Genevieve’s story and I have to say that I was gripped from the very first chapter. This book is very different from the first book but it is equally thrilling and full of suspense.
The story starts with top attorney Genevieve Holst, famous for prosecuting criminals, working on a case to defend her friend and boss when he is accused of murdering his wife and children.
What leads on from here is a story that will have you on the edge of your seat and your heart in your mouth as Genevieve struggles to deal with the outcome and the aftermath of the trial.
The romantic interest comes in the form of Detective Owen Graham who was part of the prosecution at the trial and therefore an adversary who later becomes someone that Genevieve can rely on for support.
I really loved this book. It was great seeing into the lives of Larkin, Marlis and Libby again too. I’d really like to see more of these girls and hope that there will be more to come from this series.

The second book in the Stalker Series by Megan Mitcham, Why has played out to be the best so far! I truly loved it. It was quite suspenseful and enthralling. Genevieve Holst is one the cities best women attorneys. This time she is defending her good friend and boss Perry, which she is still figuring out how she is able to. He is charged with murdering his wife and family. She ends up works together with Detective Owen Graham who basically sets her world on fire! She doesn’t know what to do with him! But after the trial is when things start to get a little bit scary and a little bit creepy. Perry, her boss, starts to become a different person and starts to show a different side of him that Gen has never seen. This is definitely a psyche thriller that has you on the edge of your seat and a romance novel that has you fanning yourself. This is a serious rollercoaster of emotions that you never know what is coming next but you know for sure that whatever is coming is going to be good because this book doesn’t disappoint. Just like normal, I would definitely read the first novel so you can understand where the main character is coming from. Kudos Ms. Mitcham for a spectacular second book!

It's quite a while since I read "Who" and I forgot just how brilliant this author is at building suspense and keeping me on the edge of the seat Yet another night of reading into the early hours of the morning not wanting to put this book down. I am not sure if I would call it a romantic suspense as the romance is more of an aside but it is definitely a psychological thriller with a touch of romance

Genevieve (Gen) Holst is a prosecutor who loves to put away the bad guys something she wishes she could have dome for her sister but when her boss is accused of killing his wife and family she turns to defending him after all he is a good guy and couldn't have done what they are saying. Been as good as she is she soon has him free that is when she begins to question what she has done She is hearing things that she doesn't like about her good guy boss has she made a error in judgement. Soon the man that was her biggest thorn during the trial Detective Owen Graham becomes her ally as she tries to rectify what she has done. This is a book that has more twists and tirns than a corkscrew and will keep you engaged until that last page

Why is Book Two in the Stalker series and brings us Genevieve's story.

Gen gained my interest in book one, and I couldn't wait to get to know her more and see how her book played out, which in a word was phenomenal.

Mitcham delivers a compelling suspenseful ride through the pages of this story diving us right into the mystery of this violent crime and takes us on a thrilling ride trying to solve it. I loved how everything came together on this one, the pieces that fit and the psychological side of this story. As always the suspense was full force and gripping, while the romance angle wove its way into the rest of the story.

Gen is a hardened prosecutor, bent on putting the bad guys away and helping those she can. So when her mentor Perry is accused of a horrific crime - she flips to his defense. But his not guilty verdict kicks off more investigation and she's not quite sure what's going on. Paired with Detective Owen in an unlikely situation, the two discover there is much more between them than the case.

Full of twists and turns and an elaborate chase to discover just what exactly is going on, Why will keep you on the edge of your seat.

If you are looking for a book with twists and turns, with a healthy injection of intrigue and thrilling story this is the book for you.

Genevieve is a brash, full powered character who at first you may not warm to but I really enjoyed the character greatly she knew what she wanted and goes for it. Until she has a dilemma when her boss is arrested for the murder of his wife and family. Gen decides to defend him but as she delves more into the evidence and his story something is just not quite right and she has a feeling that he may have committed the horrendous crime. So she asks her "friend" Detective Owen Graham to help investigate but will their relationship cloud the murky water already stirred up in this mystery.

Why by Megan Mitcham is the second in the Stalker series but is a stand alone story and what a read it is. I enjoyed the interaction of all the characters, the build of tension just pulls you into book and has you griped until the end. The characters are rich and well written, I really enjoyed this series and can not wait for the next book in this series. If you have not read a Megan Mitcham book then download it now you will not be disappointed.

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham

5 Stars

This is my second book by this author and I think I liked this one even more than the first, this is one of my chosen genres and I get so immersed in the story that I lose all track of time. I loved the suspense and danger that was a part of this story, and you could actually read this as a standalone but the first one gave a lot that helps understand parts of this story.

I Love Gen...she is strong and holds a position of power, and when her and Owen Teamed up it brought the story to a whole new level…. When someone you trust all of a sudden becomes someone you don't know, it's time to figure things out. This is when the story pulls in the fear and danger, twists, turns, and sitting on the edge of my seat...I read this literally in one sitting, I could not put it down and truly did not want it to end.

I loved Gen’s friends..that whole group was awesome and their bonds were tight and I love that in a novel!

I can not wait for the next in this series and I also can not wait to read all of these back to back all over again! This author is amazing and her stories are spot on!

The first chapter is wonderful when all the ladies get together. You have four high profile women and their banter is hilarious. We move to Genevieve, a lawyer that has not lost a case that she has prosecuted, but she moves to the other side to defend a friend and mentor. After the verdict is given, things get sticky from there on in. She becomes obsessed in finding the truth. A detective, Owen Graham, keeps showing up at the most inopportune times. Douglas is wonderful as usual and where this story goes is quite a long and winding road. It was definitely a page turner, filled with so much tension. The last quarter of the book had me in quite the tizzy, my stomach was in knots just reading it. There's a teaser at the end for the next book in this series and I can't wait. I highly recommend this author, this book and this series.

I received this advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

Why: A Stalker Series Novel by Megan Mitcham was a fantastic read, I am looking forward to more in this series. The story picks up from the end of book one when lawyer, Genevieve Holst, is tasked with defending her boss and friend on a murder charge. In book 2, Genevieve has been fighting in court and the jury is come to its verdict, but Gen isn’t happy. She needs to know what actually happened to the family that she considered friends and goes on a search of her own with some surprising consequences. She also has to deal with the fallout from the officer in charge of the case, the gorgeous Detective Owen Graham. As Gen’s suspicions start to grow, she finds herself in increasingly dangerous situations, but what will she sacrifice for the truth? I really enjoyed this book; it is difficult to review without giving spoilers, but I would highly recommend. I am eagerly anticipating the next edition.

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham is the second book that i have read by this author and i thought it was really really good. I couldn't put this book down because it pulled me in from the very first page and didn't let me go until the very end. Suspenseful, Mysterious and Violent, this crime novel kept me on my toes in suspense. This one was about Genevieve "Gen" Holst. She is a prosecuting attorney who wants to make up for a terrible thing that happened to her sister. Gen thinks she doing the right thing by defending her boss in court for the murder of his wife and children. His behavior, both past and present are unexpected for the situation and she begins to see the case(and him) in a new way. I was on the edge of my seat and i enjoyed every minute of this book. I don't normally read this genre but i loved it. I am looking forward reading more by this author and i would recommend this to anyone who like suspenseful and dramatic crime novels!

Why (Stalker Series #2)
By Megan Mitcham

I have been eagerly waiting for the second book in this series to arrive on my kindle – I LOVED book 1 – it was such a riveting and exciting read and I couldn’t wait to see if the author was able to continue that over into the next book and she absolutely did! We met the main character Genevieve in the first book and I was looking forward to finding out more about her! She was an awesome main character! She’s strong, sassy and good at her job as a prosecutor. With her new case a little more personal she is ready to defend her mentor but as expected there were some great twists and turns along the way! I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through with this story! It was yet again another outstanding read from Ms Mitcham! I am so, so looking forward to the next book in the series!

This was a really good psychological thriller. Why, by Megan Mitcham is a very well written book. Very easy to read, the story flows effortlessly and keeps you intrigued and turning the pages one after another. Genevieve our heroine in this story has such a desire for justice and she's driven to it even to her detriment. And I'm always looking for the story within the story and I really love the way the author deals with how we view our past and the guilt that we have over the different things in our past and how we deal with that. How it holds us back how it chains us to those events in the past and sometimes prevents us from moving on into the future. A good solid thriller even though the story does get a little bit hot and steamy and some may be a little uncomfortable with that.

Why by Megan Mitcham is the second book in the Stalker Series. This is a great series because they do not have to be read consecutively. Prosecutor Genevieve Holst is a successful attorney and has gotten into an awkward case of having to defend her mentor, Perry. Was it a wise decision to make the move to the other side and defend Perry? Things are not adding up and she has to find out why.
I like these books because they are suspenseful and smartly thought out. Genevieve is a smart and interesting character. She has a lot to deal with because she is trying to figure out if she just saved a guilty man who also happens to be close to her. This has a great storyline and the story reads quickly. I really like the flow and did not want to put the book down. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

This story is excellent and I’ll tell you Why😉

Why is the next story in the Stalker series and should definitely not be missed❣️I have waited for what feels like ages to get my hands on this book but it was sooooo worth the wait🤩

Genevieve is a badass prosecutor but when her boss Perry is accused of killing his family, he asks her to jump to the other side by defending him. Out of loyalty she does defend him, but now she’s questioning everything that she knows and unfortunately or maybe it’s fortunately, a sexy detective has gotten under her skin and might just save her from herself😍

Loved this story and I’m super excited to read Libby’s story next. Thank you to Megan for my advanced copy and I voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

Genevieve Holst is a killer in the courtroom and not afraid of anyone, but in her personal life she is afraid of commitment and closed off, except for her three close friends Larkin, Libby and Marlis. When Gen realized she set a killer free she does everything in her power to gather evidence to remedy her error, even confide in her enemy Detective Owen Graham. The story starts slow like a roller-coaster, but then the thriller ride starts full of mystery, secrets, deception, nail biting suspense and fighting to stay alive action that leaves you breathless with heart palpitations in the end. I have read quite a few books by Megan Mitcham and she always delivers a story that captivates your imagination that takes you on a journey with strong characters, action and romance.

An exciting suspenseful, sexy satisfying read that had me turning page after page when I should have gone to sleep.
Genevieve is a woman forged from a traumatic past. She has become a fiercely independent, private, loyal, fiercely protective lawyer who kicks butt in the courtroom. When Perry her mentor, boss and friend is accused of a heinous act she vigorously defends him. Detective Owen Graham is convinced that Perry is guilty as sin. Gen might be one of only a handful who believes his acquittal is just. However long held secrets, illogical behaviour and inconsistencies make her question, could she be wrong? Gen and Owen may have been opposites in the court, but now their simmering chemistry can no longer be ignored. The story is rich with drama, angst, danger and heat.

This is the second book in this series and I loved it just as much as the first. This is a well written romance-suspense story that I had a hard time putting down. The twists and turns left me turning pages just waiting to see what would happen next. The characters brought the story to life and kept me engaged. Gen is an attorney that takes on a case she probably should not have. The case gives her the feeling that something isn’t right and she is left fighting for her life. She goes through alot but she is such a great character that it was great watching her. I loved the chemistry between Gen and the detective. I highly recommend reading this must read story to find out what happens with Gen and her case.

!!!! This is the second book in this series by Megan Mitcham and she knows how to get you hooked and keep you there. I’ve fallen in love with every single one of the main characters, I can’t read fast enough.
This book is Genevieve’s story. It’s got action, heart break, terror, agony and love. She has a huge case she has to defend and in the process meets the handsome Owen, whom she verbally battles with just for fun. The girls are still tight as can be- family. Through this adventure you learn why Gen is … how she was in the first book. Why does she seem so distant? What secret is she hiding that won’t let her live without sadness? I raved over Larkin’s book (book 1) but this one had me even more- partly because us redheads have to stick together :) Great book!!
