Talented actor and singer Jim Santoro left the small upstate town of Mechanicville when he was eighteen, destined for the brightest lights and biggest stages New York City had to offer. Even after four decades of commercial work, unnamed extra parts, and walk-on roles, the dream didn’t die—but he almost did. When Jim experiences a medical miracle, he embraces the gift of a second chance, touching lives and taking Broadway by storm.
Horrible. Dont waste your time or money. Glad I got it from my local bookstores bargain bin for only 5 bucks. Where to begin? Let's start with the numerous typos. I don't know who his editor is but they need to be fired. Extra words, letters, spelling errors. Littered throughout. If that wasn't bad enough, this story is a short story or novella at best that was attempted to be transformed into a full novel. Saying this is a tough read is an understatement. It seems that the author was going more for a word count than actually telling a story. Every single chapter (as far as I could stand to read, about half the book before I just couldn't anymore) is filled wirh repeat phrases. When I say repeat I mean not once or twice but sometimes into the double digits. It did nothing to help the story and instead made it difficult to actually get into the book. I recommend this to absolutely no one. It's the only book I have read by him, but it has made it so that I won't even think about looking at another. I'm flabbergasted that this was his 7th, (YES 7TH! ) published book. How? How is that possible????? Buy I digress, if it was trimmed down, there might be something worth reading in there. Just not in its current form. I would give a half star rating if it was an option. Based solely on the idea of the story being sound. There's one other rating at the time of this writing which gave it a five star. I have to assume this was done by someone that knows the author peraonally or the author himself because there is in no way another reader gave it one anywhere near that.
