One night.

That was our agreement. No strings, no attachments.

Suffering from career suicide, I was more than ready to hide out in my Boston hotel room before returning home to my small town in Maine.

Instead, I found myself standing face to face with a stranger. He was arrogant, impulsive, and impossibly gorgeous. Perfect for one night of fun, an escape from the reality that was my life.

All it took was one bottle of wine and shared secrets between us for him to see me.

Then the call came offering a second chance, injecting life back into my already flat-lined career. Discover who America's Rock God, Spencer Ryan, truly was and tell his story.

Except when those electric blue eyes caught mine and I reached out to shake his hand, I already knew.

My one-night stand was returning for an encore on who could be the more miserable idiot between the two of us.

Let the show begin.

This is the first book that I have read from Brittany Taylor and what an introduction to her work. I loved this story so much. I mean who doesn’t love a Rockstar romance, I know I do. Loved Spencer and Lane so much. Their chemistry and attraction was so good. The feelings that was between them came off the pages and you felt everything that they were feeling. When they were happy, sad, or angry, you were able to feel the emotions and that is because of how they were written. This was a quick and easy ready that will leave you wanting more. I will be going and read her previous works and I am looking forward to many new stories from her in the future.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

My favorite book by Brittany Taylor to date. I was laughing right off the bat with Lane's disaster interview and fell in love with how well written their story is. Taylor took a popular trope but as usual wrote it so beautifully that I felt like I'd never read a rockstar book before. Spencer has my heart from here until eternity.

Brittany Taylor gives us an unforgettable rockstar romance with Lane and Spencer. The romance between the two was heartfelt. This isn’t your typical sex, drugs and rock n roll type of rockstar romance. It’s a journey of two broken and lonely people who see beyond what is shown on the outside. The connection they have is soul deep. I recommend this read!

Guys, I'm not okay...  Brittany Taylor perfectly encapsulates the struggles of putting your trust in another person when you yourself are broken.  Broken hearts, trust issues, half-truths, and touring the country with your one night stand - what could possibly go wrong?

All our lives, we're told not to play with fire, but Spencer has me not caring how badly I might get burned. - Lane, See Through

The depth and chemistry of these characters is beautiful.  Their stubbornness had me slamming the cover of my Kindle closed on multiple occasions with an audible growl, and the ending had me in tears.

I've always been a fan of Rockstar Romance novel (because really, who hasn't fantasized about ending up with someone with a smooth, velvety voice who knows how to strum a guitar? - if you said you haven't, I don't believe you), but I can tell that this one has soared up to one of my top 3 all-time favourites of this genre.  I also don't have a doubt in my mind, after only 24 days into the new year, See Through has made my 2020 Top Ten Favourites list.

Not just any rockstar romance. See Through is an amazing book with all the feels and scorching chemistry between the two lead characters. Lane and Spencer are two lonely souls who meet and spend one night together but then have to navigate a rock band tour and all that entails. I love the way that Brittany Taylor has written this book. It’s a very refreshing take on the genre. Highly recommended.

Ughhhh I am big puddle of mush and I’m sure it will take me a week to get over this book hangover!. Lane and Spencer were pure magic and I was enthralled in their chemistry and energy. I’m going to be thinking about them and their story for a long time...a MUST read!

Spencer has been in the spotlight for two years due to being in a band. Lane is a strong woman and stands up for herself. The couple have great chemistry and are good together. A great rocker read.

This is such a great read. Who doesn't love a good rockstar romance. Lane and Spenser are great characters. This is a quick and easy read but leaves you wanting so much more. I absolutely loved it. Brittany is one hell of an author.

I’ve read a few rockstar romance books lately so I was a little skeptical when I picked this one up. Not to say that I don’t like them, they just all seem the same. That being said, I was very pleasantly surprised with this story. I loved that neither Lane or Spencer were pushovers, challenged each other from day one. The fact that both characters had a past they were recovering from made them vulnerable but at the same time they were redeemable. I also enjoyed the pieces we got of secondary characters such as the band and would love to see this book turned into a series (Brittany-hint, hint!!)

Jumping into this book I wasn't sure what to expect from Lane and Spencer. I went in mostly blind and I'm glad I did. This isn't your typical rockstar romance, and Spencer isn't who you think he is. Lane doesn't give herself enough credit. She's smart and she stands up for herself. I loved that about her. The two of them together are pure perfection!

This book is OFF THE CHARTS GOOD! Literally whizzed right through the chapters! I didn’t want it to end, I’d truly take about 10 more books like this one.

Spencer and Lane have a connection that just sizzles in every way! Leaving me turning the page because I need to know what happens. There’s some twists in this book that you wouldn’t expect but all in all I loved every single word and can’t wait to see what else Brittany writes.

This is by far my favorite book that she’s written so far!

All the love for See Through! Brittany Taylor did an amazing job with! Everything about this book is perfect! Spencer and Lane were everything! Rockstar romances are no always my thing, but Taylor might have just made them a must read for me.

Spencer and Lane are amazing! Their journey is amazing to read. They are two broken people who find each other. Right from the start their chemistry is chart topping. Their story is like no other rockstar romance I have read.

See Through is beautifully well-written and captivating. I was hooked from start to finish. I had so many emotions happening while reading See Through. I loved every second of this book.

I love a good rock star romance, and Taylor really excels at the anticipation. The energy that thrums through you before and after a great concert. And Taylor achieves that great balance with Spencer, between anxiety and falling into a role he was made for.

"Grey continues tapping his foot on the bass pedal, maintaining a steady rhythm. The deep sound vibrates through me, humming in my veins. I’m reminded of how long I’ve wanted this and how long I’ve waited. Despite the minutes until I’m technically supposed to go on stage, I don’t give a shit. I’ve waited long enough."

"The crowd raises their arms, neon orange and green bands wrapped around their wrists. Their screams filter through me as I slide my favorite pick from my pocket. I grip the microphone with my right hand, pinching the pick between my thumb and forefinger."

"The fans cheer, jumping up and down, raising their arms and clapping. I find myself cheering along with them, yelling at the top of my lungs. I can feel my throat expanding, allowing the cold air and excitement to tingle its way down. My body heats, and I know it isn’t from the hundreds of people surrounding me. It’s Spencer. He’s lit the fire inside me once again. He’s the match, and I’m the striker."

Most of the book talks about how he's wanted this since he was a child. The background about him learning guitar was fabulous. He has some reservations, but he mostly lives for the fans. Which is why I didn't really get the blurb about the book, parts where it talked about him not wanting fame. It seems to me that he wanted to badly, with some problems on the side.

I also had a hard time with his they met. It didn't seem feasible when she talked about how much she needed this job. She is professional and well liked journalist, but she doesn't do THIS (spoiler). But I know you have to suspend believe sometimes in fiction, but this bothered me.

However, it's a riveting story. Well written, and fully formed characters, even the minor ones. And the lyrics and music was fantastic. I saw that the author has someone write them, and they marry perfectly with the story. Love the way Spencer isn't a "reformed" bad boy. He's just having trouble navigating the social aspects of being a rockstar.

There are some subtle sentences that just grabbed me and held on.

"There’s this brilliant haze about her, pulling me in, and this time, I hope it won’t disappear."

“There’s a fine line between dreams and reality. Sometimes they’re hard to discern, but in the end, does it really matter?”

"It’s like our hands are flowing through water, shifting and dancing with the current. "

“Love makes us fools, Rachel. Fools and idiots.”

This is a very strong story and near perfect dialogue. You feel like you are THERE, and it helps that Spencer is so likable. Tired of the anti -hero rock gods, we readers needed this book.

Lane and Spencer's hot one night stand was supposed to be just that - one night. But now she's faced with the man who snuck out of her bed and he's the rockstar she's supposed to follow around on tour and get his life story out of him. How's that possibly going to work when Spencer is about as open as a rock and Lane's still hurt he snuck off before she woke up?

I gotta say - I've read a lot of rockstar romances, and they all tend to follow the same formula, and so did this one, but it does it well. Lane and Spencer aren't shallow, one note characters, rather, they feel real and human suffering from the same vulnerabilities and pain that all of us do. It helped give this story an edge over the typical shallow fluff that most rockstar romances tend to be. I hope this author plans on writing more rockstar romances, because this one is great.

One night stands are just supposed to be that just one night only. In the case of Lane and Spencer it was one earth moving moment and while it sparked feelings, they both walked away. Spencer on the verge of stardom and Lane looking for a new journalist job. While Lane didn’t know who Spencer was to the world since she lived in a bubble, she knew who he was to her. Yep only for a night she had the real Spencer. Despite fake names and earth shattering orgasms they went their separate ways until Lane received a call for a once in a lifetime opportunity she thought she blew.

Lane is a jilted lover. I mean seriously her ex stole her article as his own and just wanted her to brush it under the table. Alright kids can we all say JERK?? JERK!! Well actually I want to call him worse, but I don’t want to anger the Amazon gods. She is adrift and signs on to follow a rock star around to prove he’s not who the media portrays him to be. Easy peasy right? Free trip around the good ol USA and getting paid to do it. Spencer is on the fast track to superstardom. He has it all or so he thinks. He can’t keep the paparazzi off his back with the relentless articles calling him a womanizer. Trust me the last thing he wants is a journalist following his every move. So much of his life isn’t for public consumption and he vows to keep it that way. When he meets Lane he is struck stupid. Could she be the one to turn his life around and his heart? Ohhhh you’ll just have to read this book to find out.

Rocking Together.

What could happen when Lane, a journalist, meets up with a Rockstar, Spencer? Well, their worlds are both rocked in a way that neither one could see coming.
Lane, take's a job with a company that travels around the nation trying to make a name for themselves. When she meets a stranger, and for once throughs caution to the wind only to find out that Spencer is her next write up. Spencer only just met Lane in a hotel room and thought it would not be so bad to have a night of passion with her, only to find out she is his next sandals write up. Watch as both see-through themselves through heartbreak, happiness, loneliness, and back up to realization. Read as Spencer and Lane both discover that not all people are out for their next gig or scandal.
See-through is professionally written, the characters well-defined, and the storyline flows. I enjoyed this book and looking forward to more from Miss Taylor. Your fan Julie @ AA.

This story was pretty good and it had a really great romantic ending and I’m a total sucker for that. Spencer is an up and coming rockstar and he has a one nightstand with a beautiful stranger or so he thinks. Next day in walks the beautiful stranger one nightstand who’s actually the journalist who’s been hired to write about him. Lane is in shock because Spencer told her his name was Adam. This book had the makings of a great story but the author chose to tell the story from internal dialogue from Lane & Spencer’s head, pages and pages of it. Showing us would have made us like the characters more and kept me from flipping kindle pages at the speed of light. It’s not the worst book I’ve read this week and I did finish the whole book. So I leave it up to the readers to decide if they read it or not.

So I really liked Spencer (though I wish there was more showing and less telling that he was wracked with guilt about his family, and that he went to therapy to heal) but I didn’t like Lois. Like how did she live with this man 24/7 for three months, see Tori throw him out and him say “you’re just like the others” and STILL think that he was cheating on her and say the tabloids got it right?? Like I get she has trust issues but HOW can you be that dumb?? And I’m sorry flying to Scotland and writing a little addendum to your article was absolutely not enough she needed to GROVELLLL to the max and she didn’t. And they get engaged?? What, are you going to think the worst of him every single time he even looks at a female and fly off the handle with no explanation? He deserved way better than her.

Cute read

I liked getting to know Lane and Spencer through all their push and pull struggles. I also liked the secondary characters, Grey, Trevor and Daphne. I think there is potential for more books about these characters.

The few criticisms I have are if Lane is interviewing for a position to not only write an article about a rockstar, but to go on tour with him, wouldn't you do your homework and find out everything about him (including what he looks like) before the Interview?
Also, her being so upset at the end, but not really letting him explain and not answering Grey's texts to to see if maybe she read the situation wrong was a little much. But I did enjoy the story and will look at reading this author's other books. I would definitely recommend this book.

So I have a few opinions on this book, first I really liked it I thought it was really cute and a bit different which was a nice change. My only con is that it was a bit insta love which isn’t always bad but I don’t know it didn’t sit right with me also in the end when Lane didn’t believe Spencer it was annoying because the trust was just broken and it was oblivious he didnt do anything so it was annoying. I think the smut was very tame which isn’t bad but i would have loved more detailed spice to create the angst and why they were so connected to each other so quick. Overall it was a good book not my favorite read but not the worst at all. Spencer is very sexy as well which we all love!!!!!

See Through is the first book by Brittany Taylor that I have read. I was impressed by this rockstar story. Lane and Spencer were great characters and the story had all the feels. Lane and Spencer had a one night stand. After which Lane get a job that requires her to go on tour with a rockstar. When she get there of course it I the one night stand from the night before. The story line had me hooked because I had to know what was going to happen next. I am looking forward to reading other books by Brittany Taylor.

Lane recently quit her job at the local newspaper after leaving her finance who was also her boss. She accepts a job to follow around a new solo artist, Spencer, who needs to repair his image as the rockstar playboy. Spencer begrudgingly agrees to have a journalist follow him around to tell his side of the story but if he is being honest he doesn't care. He knows the truth and doesn't want to share his secrets with the world. He just wants to play music. But neither one can deny the pull they feel towards each other but working together muddies the waters.

This book was a breath of fresh air when it comes to a rock star romance. Don't get me wrong I love the reformed bad boy as much as the next girl but it was nice to see one that wasn't actually a man whore content with the sex, drugs and rock-n-roll lifestyle. Spencer just wanted to create and play music and didn't want all the excess. He adored his fans and it was always misconstrued by the media. He had his reasons for his secrecy and I do not blame him. He was right in keeping those a secret. Spencer has the biggest heart and I just want to give him a hug. I was really liking Lane and thought she was kind of awesome and understanding of who Spencer really was. But at the first sign she jumped on the judgment band wagon. Made me kind of upset. But she pulls her head out of her butt and apologizes to Spencer. I really enjoyed the pace of this book. Loved that there was the instant connection but not a instalove story. They gradually fell into each other but it felt a little telling. I would have loved to see more of their time together instead of being told about it. But overall it was a good book that I really enjoyed and recommend that others should read.

Poor writing.
Messy plot.
Very slow and short.
Insta-love.
The author need to find their voice and tone it’s all over the place.
30% of the novel happens before she even steps foot on the tour bus.
The characters are shallow and not flushed out.
This novel needs work but has potential.
The author went as far as to make a Spotify playlist with the bands music in the book. It’s good music too.

Spencer Ryan is FIRE!! Whether he's topping the charts or not, he is the perfect face of rock star stardom but also the sweetest and sexiest thing behind closed doors too.
See Through was such a great rock star romance. Easy to read and fall in love with. These characters chemistry soared off the pages.

I was not able to finish. Got maybe at 38% of it through. Booktok got me to this book and I don't know why I just losing interest in it. Maybe because the story line was going to slow for me or maybe the lack of action or OMG-drama is not enough to capture my interest. Hopefully I can come back to this book and finish it.

Oh my ❤️.

This book had me choked up so many times. Lane and Spencer both had so many things that hurt them in life. This book shows the struggle we go through when life beats us down. It also shows how to come out the other side.

Good book

It was a good book nothing really stands out about it so don’t expect your life to change after reading it. But don’t let that discredit the fact this book is entertaining an worth a read!
