Jase Keller took life one day at a time. As a deputy sheriff, his schedule fluctuated weekly and he never knew when he’d be home. But when his grandmother needed his help, he didn’t hesitate in stepping up. After all, she had done that very thing when his own mother had abandoned him as an infant. Caring for his grandmother was one thing, but taking on her unwieldy Great Dane, Moose, was another thing entirely.
Ezra Howell was through with men. The good ones were taken, and the available ones treated him like crud. He was working on getting his life in order when Deputy Delicious suddenly showed up at the clinic with Ms. Jo’s sick dog. Ezra has his suspicions and can’t get over the idea that Jase is to blame.
The attraction is there, but they’re as opposite as night and day. Can they move past their differences and accept their mutual desire?
Accepting My Desire is the eighth book in the Sulfur Springs series. This is a Men of Crooked Bend spin-off and takes you off of the ranch and into the lives of those in Sulfur Springs. While each book will focus on a different couple, you should read them in order for the most enjoyment. Each book contains sexually explicit material between two men and is intended for adults over 18.
Reread Oct. 31, 2025 I love Taylor Ryan's characters. We are back at Sulfer Springs for this look at Deputy Jase, tall, hunky and 30, as he deals with the destructive Great Dane he had dropped in his lap. His Grandma got Moose, but then she fell and needed her dog cared for.
Ezra, short and slim, 24, is the blue haired Veterinarian Clinic manager, likes Deputy Delicious, but not the way he cares for the big dog. Spunky Ezra jumps to conclusions he shouldn't and they have a rocky start.
Steady and dependable Jase is not giving up, and sends flowers and keeps on pressing forward. Ezra is special, caring, and adorable, and so worth the chase.
Jase moves slowly in his quest, because he wants it to last, and finally they iron out the misunderstandings Ezra had. Their Halloween costumes were fun....
Each man has been through similar situations growing up, and each dotes on their Grandma who raised them. The Grams play an important part of their lives.
Ezra has low self esteem and has been treated poorly by other guys, plus he's struggling to get a newer car, pay his college debt, and get an apartment, in his "adulting" plan.
I love this whole series, and this addition is terrific.
These guys are wonderful together. Hot sexiness, and some fun play, plus the smaller/larger size difference. Very entertaining ! ENJOY !
Jase is accepting of himself and his life. Then there's Ezra. Ezra who seems to be constantly searching for something. Jase meets the young man at the vet where he takes his new Great Dane puppy (courtesy of Grandma) who hoovered up practically his entire house. For some reason Ezra takes a giant dislike to the gorgeous Sheriff's Deputy. Will Jase ever get Ezra to see him the way he sees Ezra?
This is a lovely tale. I adored Jase and his energetic, destructive Great Dane. Ezra was harder for me to connect to at first, but he eventually redeemed himself. All in all, a sweet story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Jase and Ezra, once Ezra finally got over his hate for Jase when he thought Jase was mistreating his Great Dane puppy Moose, because Moose had to be operated on when he destroyed Jase’s house by escaping his grate and chewing through his garage door. So Moose ended up getting internal bleeding from the wood he’d chewed up. The he saw Jase and Moose at K-9 Dog Training with Daniel and Moose was well behaved then he asked about the collar, Jase told him that it was a shock collar and Ezra let him have it and then left, without letting Jase explain that it doesn’t hurt Moose, he checked on himself first and it was at the suggestion on Daniel and Xander, Moose’s vet to even try the collar in the first place. When Ezra gets back to work, Xander lets him have it and explains the whole situation and that Moose is perfectly fine and that Jase loves him. Jase decides to take matters into his own hands to try and win Ezra over and to get him to change his opinion of him so he sends him flowers and other gifts. I love Jase’s name for Ezra, Bluebell it’s cute. Man Moose is a wee cutie but he definitely lives up to the name of Distructo. I love how much Jase and Ezra love and support their Gma & Grammie, it’s really cute. I love how Gma got Moose for Jase so he could meet and get to know Ezra as she thought that they’d be perfect together. Got to love meddling grandparents. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
I absolutely loved this latest book in the Sulfur Spring Series!!! A series of misunderstandings kept Ezra and Jace from getting to know each other. Ezra thought the absolute worse about Jace. As they start to get to know each other, Ezra begins to realize that he was so wrong about Jace. Jace is smitten with Ezra and doesn't understand how he gave Ezra the wrong message but he really likes him and is willing to show him that he can be the man he needs and is truly a good guy with good intentions. The more they get to know each other, the more the attraction burns up and neither of them can deny the feelings that they stir with each other. It was such an amazing story and I was hooked from beginning to end. I laughed, swooned, and teared up at some parts. It was a truly great story and one that I would recommend to all. I can't wait for the next book from this talented author. Well done!!!!
Another well written instalment in the Sulfur Springs series. Jase, a Deputy Sheriff, and Ezra, an Office Manager at the local vet clinic, are both likeable characters who do feel attracted to each other. Unfortunately for Jase, even though Ezra feels the attraction he doesn’t particularly like Jase. His opinion is based on assumptions. Eventually they work things out and when that happens their chemistry sizzles. Add in a couple of Grandmothers and a destructive Great Dane puppy named Moose as side characters and it makes for an easy, enjoyable, sweet read with no angst. This is a standalone but I believe it would make for more enjoyment if your had read other books in the series as those characters do make appearances.
I chose Accepting My Desire, Sulfur Springs Book 8, by Taylor Rylan to read something by a new-to-me writer. I checked out her book reviews and saw that there was a consistent good scoring.
I have to say that that I was disappointed with the writing. It seemed like the author was emulating James Joyce’s stream of consciousness with every minute detail of the MCs’ activities! A case in point was Jase was asked by his Grandma (Gma) to get her quilting thread. It took 4 pages of fairly irrelevant words to get the thread and take it to Gma.
I actually put the book aside and read another book by a different author, hoping that I would connect better on second read. I am sorry to say it was no better and I had to give up reading the book.
This is the eighth book in The Sulfur Springs Series. I would read the previous books in this series to receive the fullest enjoyment out of this book. A wonderful book the writing was good. Although this book isn’t as strong in the writing as previous stories. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters delightful. The characters were developed and thought out. Jase and Ezra are the MC’s of this book. There is one thing that I found very distracting and the was the name that each MC called their grandmother. Otherwise I enjoyed reading this book and I can recommend it as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
Making assumptions is never a good idea, especially when accusing someone of animal negligence and when that someone is Deputy Sheriff Delicious and you have to see him because your boss did surgery on his huge puppy, things could get awkward. Add a speeding ticket delivered by same deputy and WTH? And because life is not simple your grandmother, who raised you in the house you're still in, is tired of the cold winters and wants to move to Florida to retire with her sister. Then the sexy man in uniform not only stands up to your cheating ex, but sends you flowers...and chocolates... your favorite expensive kind. How can you ignore him when he seems so sweet...and kind...and did I mention sexy in his uniform?
I have got to say at the start, that I always loved the Sulfur Springs series and looked forward to each of the stories. I couldnt wait for Ezra to find his HEA! The characters in this book were really great and I liked the quirks and characteristics of both Ezra and his Deputy. That being said, I must say that the story line felt a bit disjointed to me. Whereas some of the previous books had a main theme the plot revolved around, I struggled to find it here and felt more like reading snippets from the story, without a general shape or form. It was still a pleasant read and a feel good story, but fell flat compared to previous parts in my opinion.
I really enjoyed seeing Ezra again after he was introduced in an earlier book. He is sassy and a bit over the top, but also lots of fun and entertainment. Jase is trying to do the right thing, but a misunderstanding regarding his grandmother's puppy, sets he and Ezra at odds. They definitely have attraction, and Ezra needs to get over his history of bad exes. It was a nice, slower change of pace from the angst of the last book. I have really enjoyed this series and the way the characters from previous books play active roles of successive books, although each book focuses on a specific couple.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
Deputy Delicious is a good way to start - lol, the story has antics that will keep you laughing!
Deputy Jase is drifting in hopes of finding his home base that "your person that gets you & you them". He has a dog that his grandma that can't handle & it meaningful look like the worse dog daddy ever. Ezra has the vet's office going as a oiled machine & Dr. G lives Erza but his unprofessional is can be a challenge but he does understand it's his passion that drives him. The emotions that these both go through - wow! More impressive is Jase I mean who wouldn't absolutely love this guy. He all in & amaxing. More book reviews @my2centsbooklover Thank you!
Fall in love with Ezra and Jase. And you can’t forget Moose. This book was so much funny. Ezra is sassy and smart mouthed and doesn’t hold back when it comes to tell Jase off. Jase is super sweet and down to earth. He keeps taking all of Ezra’s wrath and keeps coming back for more. Both men have sweet grandmas that raised them. This book is so sweet it will give you a toothache! I’ve fallen in love with all the men of Sulfur Springs and i will miss this series tremendously. I can’t wait for the final book so we get to check in on all of our favourite men!
Jase and Ezra were an I retesting pair. They started off rocky and Ezra having a really bad opinion of Jase but as the story wore on, Jase eventually had Ezra falling in love with him. This is part of a series and while considered a stand alone, I recommend reading the others in this series as I was a bit lost at times. This was a happily for now ending which is perfect because it was a happy ending.
Ezra and Jace are complete opposites in so many ways but in the ways that matter most they are more alike than different. This book features a size difference, a sassy office manager and an unbelievably sweet deputy sheriff. The book has more of a slow burn than others in this series but does not detract from the overall product. Adding in characters from previous stories and two well meaning grandmothers not to mention an oversized pup this one is a lot of fun to read.
I really enjoyed Jase and Ezra's story. They were great together once their misunderstanding was cleared up. While this could be read by itself I would't say that it's a true standalone because so many of the other characters have their own stories and they are all woven together but they are a great in their own right and no hardship to read. All in all anther wonderful addition to the Sulfur Springs series.
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the GRR team*
I've been hooked on this series since the first book and have not been disappointed. And I was so happy to finally get to read Pinky's story, aka Ezra..aka Blue Bell, lol. Jase (Deputy Delicious) and Ezra have a rocky start but their attraction to each other could not be denied. And their road to HEA was filled with laughter, some sadness (not too much though), steam, sweetness, and love. And Moose is great
Finally Ezra gets a story! I love the dynamic between the two where they are standoffish at first, but as they start to get to know each other they both start to realize that they need the other! I also think Moose is adorable in the book too! This book was really fun to read and I love being back at Sulfur Springs!
This was such a great slow burn story. Ezra has an instant dislike and mistrust of Jase, even if he is attracted to him. Jase also feels the attraction and decides to win Ezra over. I really loved both of the characters, both of them are so sweet and it was so nice watching Ezra becoming more comfortable with himself and letting his guard down. This is such a great series but the book can be read as a standalone.
Ezra was a bit too much of a jerk at the beginning. It was a little too over the top and unrealistic. It made it hard to like him. Once he got over that things got better though and it was actually a pretty interesting story even though it wasn't spectacular. It seemed like things were going to go somewhere with Ezra's ex but it never did.
I loved Accepting My Desire. Ezra and Jase were both such sweet men with a little unpredictability thrown in. I loved how similar they are and their meet-cute was great. Moose was definitely a great secondary character who added a lot to their story. It was fast-paced with a slow build romance and hot smexy times. I totally recommend this book.
A feel-good book that will have you smiling, laughing and frowning at the same time. Jase and Ezra have a misunderstanding from the moment they met. Moose is hilarious and the grandmothers are adorable. The book is sweet, romantic, some angst, some funny moments and all the characters are likable. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
This was absolutely wonderful, could not put it down, so I didn't! Definitely a must read, so much excitement, joy and lots and lots of fun parts and sexy moments and memories. Absolutely loved this book and this Author, she will have you turning those pages and wishing for more. So many thanks, Honey Bee 🔥🎭📚🥰💙🤠🐝🎶
This is the sweet story in this lovely series, with two very different man, a stoic gentleman deputy and a blue haired sassy vets office manager. It is full of miscommunications, misunderstanding is, heat and one very elaborate set up involving a book stealing puppy.
I wanted to bang heads together for quite a bit of the book, but was also quite glad when I actually started communicating I found this to be a very enjoyable read, but this is a series that I would recommend that it would be best to read in order.
I really wanted to like this one more than I did. I liked Jase for the most part but Ezra got on my nerves. He was very judgmental and an ass for the first half of the book. Nothing really happened in this book.
2 grandmas and a very large dog added up as love between a deputy and vet clinic manager. It turned out they had a lot in common, especially when it came to parents and grandparents.
The first few times Jase encountered Ezra, Ezra appeared to not approve of Jase for some reason. Jase was determined to win him over, though. Ezra discovered that he had misunderstood Jase and realised he owed him an apology. A beautiful, caring story. Loved it.
This is my second book by this author (the first I've finished), and the writing style just definitely isn't for me. It's way too much tell and not enough show with a focus on completely irrelevant things. I think I'll make sure to pass in the future.
