It's gonna knock your socks off!

OMG, Siren Sacrificed was sooooo good! If you liked Siren Condemned, this one's gonna knock your socks off.
A highly entertaining story, with lots of humour and so incredibly engaging I couldn't put it down. It has twists and turns all over the place, shocking reveals and an absolute killer cliffhanger.
There's thrilling fight scenes, provoking mystery, steamy, passionate sex, and tender intimacy that gave me all the feels.
Highly recommend this read!

This story is so filled with emotions. There was pretty dangerous things going on as well, danger is always lurking. The steamy scenes was exactly that - steamy as hell. The situation is changing constantly, we are never sure whom we should believe and feel for. It was all twists and turns, pushing and puling, sneaking around. But at the end, the betrayal felt even worse. And we were left hanging, right there, with our mouth hang open, almost screaming: “NO!”. It was crazy ride. It’s definitely sacrifice to read this book before the next part is written, the wait will kill me.

Wow wow wow. This book was amazing! It lulled me into a false sense of safety and then ripped that away from me (in a good way) sexy, surprising and full of action, the pacing of this story keeps you turning page after page! I love nightmare penitentiary, which seems wrong to say, but its such an awesome world to read about.

Just shoot me now because I have to wait until October to find out what happens after that cliffhanger! My God the males all have betrayed her and am thinking maybe the hellhound is a mate as well? So many questions! I can't wait for the answers! I read this book insanely quick that's how good it is!

This book started out depressing because she becomes even more entrapped into plots and schemes of those in the prison. Seth is being brutally tortured and doesn’t want anything to do with Selena. Selena utterly believed the incubus, Alaric, just used and discarded her, so she determines to ignore him which infuriates him. Keon, the prison guard that she’d met at the bar the night she purposely gave away her virginity to spite Julian and her mother, is nearly non-existent but for an occasional tryst. The story is intriguing but still depressing… until ALARIC. OMG. He is every woman’s wet dream. I savored reading the dining date he set up for her. Not only was it ridiculously romantic and he was oozing sexuality, but this is when we learn he is Julian’s nemesis and a powerful warlord who is at the prison voluntarily on some personal quest and plans to take Selena with him when he escapes. This is a most delicious turn of events. But then, things got dark again. Dr. Brina makes an appearance, the warden gets violent with Selena, and Seth’s beatings ramp up. And the way that the RH theme is presented so far, makes Selena more like a 3 timing whore, which of course we all know she isn’t since this is, after all, an RH story. But at least two of the men she is hooking up with are definitely alphas, and not the type to share their mate with anyone. Seth, who is falling in love with her is a fae prince who might end up being the king of the light fae. How could a king share his queen with other men? So, this is an interesting love triangle to be sure. I do like that Selena spends time alone with each of these men who don’t know each other, fostering a separate relationship with each, rather than the usual RH formula that most of the male harem know each other already and get along. Another development was that Keon is actually a horrifying dark demon and a serial stalker. And at this point, he is also just a prison guard. This is his job, which if I were Selena, that would not be appealing after having been an inmate. So far, of the 3 men who’ve captured her attention, Alaric seems the best bet for a safe and happy future, not even considering the fact that she is his fated mate. At times, while reading, I could tell that there were two different authors because most of the time things made sense and rolled right along to further the story. Other times, not only did the story not progress but the writing was pretty bad: “If there was any darkness around you, the device took the darkness and wrapped it around you so that you were invisible to everyone around.” The word “around” was in that sentence THREE TIMES. It was very distracting and seemed unprofessional. Anyhoo, back to another reason why I’m TEAM ALARIC is because he knows about Selena’s relationship with both the guard and the fae prince but it doesn’t keep him from loving her, wanting her, and protecting her. Also consider that the fae prince has a fiance who visits him just in time for Selena to see them passionately kiss, which breaks her heart. So, chalk another point up to TEAM ALARIC, until that is, when Selena accidentally caught him being chummy with the warden and talking about the fae’s sceptor.

“Three men who I cared for, maybe even loved. It had all been a ruse. They lied to me. Hid secrets. Used me.”

So, Selena is back to not being able to to trust anyone again. She is all alone. Again. And then she’s accidentally killed by Keon’s demon form. That’s where the book ends. Worst ending of a book ever. If I didn’t know that there were two more installments in this series offshoot, I’d give this book 1 star. As it is, I know that Selena has to somehow survive or there wouldn’t be another book or two.

Siren Sacrificed is the second book in C.R. Jane and Mila Young’s Thief of Hearts series that is part of the Paranormal Prison collection. This book continues where book one left off with Selena and the three men that have captured her heart, her attention, and more. Despite the fact that she is in prison things have been going well for Selena, but she’s soon going to find out that at the end of the day…these men who have captured her attention…she really DOESN’T know them.
When I picked up Siren Sacrificed I had high expectations from this next installment in the series. I was expecting things to get more intense in the story and for the pressure to really be on Selena in connection to Seth as I know the Warden is far from a patient man. What I get with this book is more of a steamy stay in prison. Selena didn’t have much freedom in her “regular” life, but it seems that prison is giving her that in spades. Her relationships are still happening under the radar; by the way that the authors work together to write this book, but honestly, it becomes a bit hard to believe that anything goes unnoticed with the way that things are going. I’ll admit that some of Alaric’s antics can be chalked up to him being an incubus…but not all of his behavior can be.
If you enjoy steamy novels then this book is packed full of steamy moments all over the place. Selena is definitely not lacking in that department that’s for sure. This book gives you more Alaric time, but Keon gets in there a couple of times as well. I do like that the authors give us chapters with the guys as well and that it’s not solely focused on Selena all the time.
While I enjoyed this book, I feel that there are a ton of missed opportunities. I say this because…it’s prison. Things are supposed to be tough in prison, but I feel like Selena is leading a less than comfortable life in prison. Her only real problems on a regular basis are – the ugly clothes, the nasty food, and the run-ins from time to time with the guards. She, on the other hand, basically roams around the prison almost whenever she wants. How is that prison? Things go too smoothly for her too often. I don’t like that. When her mother comes to visit her and threatens her that’s a huge missed opportunity. Selena is in prison. The mother could have easily gone and struck a bargain with the warden to make Selena’s life hell. So why didn’t she? Selena gets caught doing something…recorded and physically caught…but she suffers zero consequences because someone else cleans up her mess. Sorry, but I found that disappointing. It took away from a potential build-up…twice, that would have really taken the story in a different direction and brought it back to being more prison-like and make it more balanced.
I enjoyed this book, but not as much as I was hoping that I would. The authors ignore or choose not to act on a lot of potential twists in this book to make it less of a heavily steamy romance novel and more of a balanced paranormal prison romance novel. The difference being – Selena should be living more like she is in prison than having more freedom there than when she was actually free on the outside. I’m disappointed that the title doesn’t tie into the story until literally the very end. This book scrapes by with 4 stars out of 5, but not by much. If you read the first book and prefer steamy romance over the prison side of the storyline then this book will be one you enjoy. If you read the first book and want more balance…you might be disappointed with this one.

Not as good, but I'm curious

This one wasn't as good as the first. Like most sequels.

This one was a little frustrating honestly. I didn't mind the whole I like three men thing because it was more like her just getting around which is whatever. But her wondering if they'd be willing to share her and then getting insanely jealous when she sees one of them with another woman? Ugh. If there's something I can't stand, it's that.

Be fair. First, there were never discussions between them and honestly, it didn't seem like their flings were deep and serious. So, I'm not sure why she got into such a tizzy. Second, if you're wanting them to share at some point, then it's only fair you share too. My goodness, not a hard concept. Third, she barely knew any of them, especially the one she saw with another woman, and that one was the one she'd done the least with.

Other than that, there were still quite a few grammatical errors, but these ones weren't so bad that I literally couldn't find out the meaning of some sentences, like in the first one.

The ending was a cliffhanger. Which I actually normally like, but I know a lot of people don't.

I will read the next one because while I'm unhappy with her dumb double standards, I'm curious what's going to happen. How will she survive? And what will she do with all this betrayal she's feeling? What's her next move?

I'm so hooked

I love when a book reaches a hand out of the pages and grabs ahold of your attention, then refuses to release its grip. This happened to me at the very start of the first book and the grip only got tighter with the second book. Whew this book has a little bit of every emotion.

This book has heartwarming moments that lead to relationship development that makes your insides feel all warm. Selena deserves these moments of getting to know these guys who have begun to steal her heart.
"Oh Selena, for you, I would bring the world to its knees."

There are moments full of action that get your adrenaline pumping but also makes you want to read between your fingers. You know those moments when you want to speed up your reading because you need to know what happens RIGHT NOW!

And then it has scenes that completely transport you into Selena's mind and holds you transfixed in the moment. A moment that is equally horrifyingly heartbreaking and exquisitely beautiful all at the same time. A scene where you have to take a moment to feel all of the emotions a single quote made you experience.
"Because they mean that I get to see you. No matter what happens, I'll never regret getting to see you."

I also loved little details like the mouse. How adorable is Selena's tiny friend?!?

All of this leads up to quite the ending! You ready for one more surprise emotion? BETRAYAL! Ugh man... My heart... I absolutely can't wait for the next book to see how Selena handles the newfound information she has.

Selena was sent to Nightmare Penitentiary because she said no to the wrong vampire. He wanted to break her, show her that as a siren she had no power, no say over her own body. Once there, Selena quickly learned that its name fit the prison. But she met three men who not only made her feel safe within the prison walls, they each stole pieces of her heart. She thought they felt the same. But maybe she was naive, too trusting. She fell in love; their motives may have been much different.

Again the prison setting makes an interesting backdrop to the story. I love the seediness, the added danger. I enjoy the originality of the characters. There's such a fine line between who is considered on the right side or the wrong side of the law. The story itself progressed nicely, however, I had a hard time losing myself to it. I enjoy Alaric and Keon but each time the story focused on Seth, my attention wandered. I'm just not a fan of the fae. I prefer Selena's chemistry with a certain hellhound much more. The story picked up steam the entire second half until I couldn't put it down. Then came that ending! Wow, wow, and wow. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I have the same feelings about this one as I did the first. It's fine. It reads like a YA novel, but with spice. The editing is questionable at best and I'll agree with one of the other reviewers that said that there's some sentences that are actually unreadable.

I'm having trouble grasping the period these books are set in. The guards are walking around with swords, but also cell phones, and the FMC is wearing Louboutins and talking about Harry Potter. The FMC is...hard to like, I think? I don't know. She gets a mate tattoo and is upset about it, but doesn't even bother to talk to the man she thinks tattooed her in her sleep?

All three men were insta-love, and there's a fourth man hovering on the edges who may end up in the harem? Also, she's betrayed by literally all three at the end? Surely we could cut the girl some slack.

I feel some amount of desire to read the third book just because I'm already two in, but I think I'll save it for a beach or plane read. Someplace where it's okay if the plot isn't quite lining up and there's not much world building.

Plot errors

The editing has gotten better and the fmc feels more fleshed out in this book, but there are still a lot of inconsistencies. Selena has asked Keon what he “is” several times, mentioning that she couldn’t identify his species because of her sheltered upbringing (even though she apparently went to regular high school and mingled in society…). Yet now she claims she always thought he was human. Didn’t she previously mention that humans couldn’t enter this prison? Or maybe it was that they didn’t know about the prison? Something like that, yet now she claims to have believed she thought Keon was human this entire time. Like…seriously? I’m not sure what’s worse, Selena’s stupidity or the basic plot errors that would be really easy to fix. Overall, this book was an improvement on the first. There were less errors and more structured syntax. I’ll be reading the next book.

Seems that Selena quickly was losing the little hope she had. Nothing was as she had thought. And when hidden secrets and lies were rearing their ugly face, she felt the weight of all she had done for nothing. Very intense and tragic this second book full of action, suspense, romance, lot of passion and strong and traumatic emotions that squeezed my heart. The cliffhanger left me in awe intrigued and trying to guess what's next. How is that to be overcome? The thing has become complicated for Keon, Seth and Alaric. I love it when there are big twists in the plot development and I have no idea what the outcome is going to be. Voluntarily reviewed this interesting and exciting copy that kept my attention all the time and I liked.

So going into book two of the Thief of Hearts series, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I should have known C.R. Jane and Mila Young wouldn’t disappoint.

Selena has been confined after refusing the vampire Julian, locked away in a prison for paranormal beings. Her siren power has been stripped from her but her allure remains strong.

Three sexy men consume her thoughts, her heart, and her body. Keon, the sexy guard, Alaric, the powerful incubus, and Seth, the tortured Fae prince. Each one is gorgeous. Each one is becoming increasingly enthralled by Selena. And each one is hiding secrets.

Siren Sacrificed was mysterious, fast-paced, and emotionally charged. That ending...no words are adequate. It is one hell of a cliffhanger. This book was so good and I can’t wait for Siren Awakened!

Wow this book was filled with so much emotions!!! Book two picks up where the first book ended on that crazy cliffhanger. I really enjoyed all the POV in this book I liked that we got to see what was going on in the guys head. I still have lots of questions though but with all the twist and turn I'm not sure what to believe. So if you enjoyed Siren Condemned then your going to loved this book that filled with plenty of intrigue, suspense, action, betrayal, and steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end. I can't wait to see what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

My fave siren is back in this new installment from two of my all time favorite authors. Things are getting really good now. Selena is trying to survive her stint in the prison though that gets a little rougher every time she turns around. Things progress with each of her guys but by the end that is all on edge as she learns secret after secret making her question everything she thought she knew. Then comes that mind blowing ending that makes you want the next book like right now. I was hooked from page one being completely engrossed in the fascinating story. Really a must read for fans of paranormal prison RH books. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

Selena

Book 2 is amazeballs,
It’s got you hooked again. You can’t put the book down. It’s a rollercoaster of madness, surprises and twists, you kinda feel for poor Selena though.
You think she was better off hiding away from the evil vampire inside the prison, she seemed like she had it a lot better.
But her life is once again spun and now she’s wondering what the hell she’s got herself into. But there are other things happening inside the wall of this crazy paranormal prison, not only the inmates are all different kinds of supernatural but the staff are frigging scary.
You actually don’t know what is real following Selenas sentence. There’s more to it and I’m actually hoping there will be a new love interest. Fingers crossed

Siren Sacrificed

The mystery of the previous book continues in this book. There are things at play, where we, as readers can only guess the endgame and it kept me on the edge of my seat while reading. There is more relationship and character development in this book, and I might have been rooting for a certain hellhound while reading. I claim Laz! :D

I fell for Alaric hard in this book, Seth still remains a bit of a mystery and Keon surprised me in every way possible. The ending? Big cliffhanger, but I have faith in what these authors have in store for these characters next.

Good second book in this storyline

This story is still really interesting. I like the characters for the most part and they stay true to form. My only complaints with this story are that 1) it's so much more focused on the sexual aspects and while I don't mind that, it took away from the progression of the storyline. 2) the ending didn't make sense but I'm hoping that'll clear up in the next book. It didn'tmake sense because from what I've gathered, considering the fmc doesn't appear to care about the markings showing up, because why would we question that (said sarcastically), the marks from Keon are some type of mate mark? So the ending is confusing.

Siren Sacrificed indeed

Just wow.... this book has everything you need. Twists, turns, betrayal, romance, mystery an ending that will have you trying to turn the page to see if there is more. These two ladies have ripped my heart out, smashed it to pieces, left it on the floor and have me begging for more.... well done ladies well done.
Selena has always been alone, in prison she thinks she has finally found people who care about her, might actually love her...but is it real? Or is it just because she wears her heart on her sleeve. I absolutely adore this siren and need more

Siren Condemned was part of an anthology centering around Nightmare Penitentiary, turned full length meaning added scenes & Siren Sacrifice is book 2 in the Thief of Hearts series. The book opens up to (I believe) where SC left off, but after reading SS there are more questions than answers. Anyways, I did enjoy reading about this world, it does leave off on an abrupt, major cliffhanger though where we desperately need to know what happens to Selena & her guys so book 3 is indeed needed along with answers.

How do you just end a book like this????!!!!
Selena is a woman who has been through so much only to feel that she has found happiness in the most unlikely place. Between her on-going encounters with Keon and then Alaric and that steamy heat and then there is Seth, sweet suborn Seth. That's a budding sweetness that you can't look away from. And why do I have a feeling there is a 4th in the mix??? Hmmmmmm, mysteries
This 2nd book leaves the reading with the ups and downs of all the feelings and then the ENDING...... I will take book 3 now please; I need closure

An Outstandingly Fantastic Story!!!!!!!

Lord this story is superb. It is jammed packed with action, drama, suspense, and some sexy hot scenes. It drew me in and didn’t let go. I am impatiently waiting for the next book in the series. Yes, it does end in a cliffhanger but the ride getting there is oh so worth it. The characters have grown so incredibly much throughout the story. Their chemistry and personalities are felt throughout the story. This is a must read and doesn’t disappoint.

I will admit this book was harder for me to get through. While I loved the first book, this one dragged a bit. I loved the interaction between Selena and her men there where parts that I didn't like as much and at the end it almost left me hating all the guys. I know the next book will bring it all together and make it all right, but it hard at times to push through those points. I had my jaw drop open at the cliffhanger and desperately want the next book to see how it will all work out. A good series to read.

What!!!!!

The heat really amped up on this one with Alaric. Then that ending! Dang, soooo many questions. And where does Laz come into this? He seems like he can fit into her harem well! Idk. Did they really all betray and lie!?? And Seth - hmmm...... he’s still a giant question to me. Can’t wait to read book 3.

*Overall 4/5
*Heat 5/5
*First person POV mostly Selena but now insert some chapters with Keone and Alaric...
*HEA- nope!!! Such a cliffhanger - starting book 3 right now

Loving the twists and turns

Selena has 3 men she is lusting over and she can't believe it took her to go to prison to find 3 men whom adore her right back...Or do they? It almost feels like that joke: "a Demon, Incubus and Fae walk into a bar..."

I'm so in love with the Paranormal Prison series written by so many fantastic writers but wonderfully interconnected revolving around a ruthless Warden in Nightmare Penitenti. I'm so hoping the Warden gets a book of his own somewhere.

The Siren series is one of my favorites and this was only book 2.

This is a great series. I have skipped around a bit because while the books are in the same world different authors have different story lines. I am currently reading the third book in the thief of hearts story having been unable to put down number two in the middle of the night. I love all the main characters but they all have their secrets. The secrets create misunderstandings which drive the plot. I am really happy to have found this series and will continue to read. I am anxious to know how the reverse harem plays out.

I haven’t read books so fast ever! These books are amazing!

Oh my gosh, I can’t get enough of Selena and her guys. This book brings us closer to each man, learning more and more about them and their pasts. Selena’s challenge becomes tougher to accomplish, all the while we see more from the guys’ perspective, and learn how much they are infatuated with her.

This all breaks down in the end, though. Confusion and betrayal plague Selena, and the cliffhanger leaves us worrying what the future holds.

Story 📖: 5/5
Heat 🔥: 5/5 just. WOW.

Blah - so boring and poor editing. I just can't get into this. The relationships seem so forced and fake, the events that are happening take you out of the story, and the FMC is just unlikable. I understand it's fantasy but they are all still living in a super-max security prison - they would not be having 5-star dinners and galivanting off on adventure all the time. If you want to have all these things happen have the story take place literally any where else.

I'm reading with a friend so I have to see this series through but I hate it.

lies, all lies

Stolen Destiny is book two in the series Thief of Hearts by authors C.R. Jane & Mila Young. So this one lets you get to know the characters a bit more - the male ones. Oh and what a story the tell. One is an incubus, one’s a Fae Prince , and the other is a bit devilish. Oh and there might just be a fourth - there’s a hint of it. Ok so they are deliciously hot and dark. And love is in the air- but they are keeping secrets- it’s all lies. And then there’s nothing.
Enjoy!!
