Within the rings of Saturn, an object thought to be a small moon may actually be an ancient spacecraft. Adrian Tarn and R.J. Smith are persuaded to escort two scientists to a landing there to investigate. What they find has unexpected consequences for Earth and every person on it. Join Adrian Tarn, R.J. Smith, and Danica Donoro as they fight to close Pandora's box before Earth becomes a new asteroid belt.
Just finished the series of six Adrian Tarn stories - really a mixed bunch, but if you want to follow what is going on you really do need to read them in order. My overall impression was that they started well, got rather confusing in the middle, but this final volume was a bit of an improvement. The first volume had a good solid story line, and so did this one. It was rather spoiled by the author's not very subtle attempt to bring religion and spirituality into the story. It rather spoils the story, and if the aim was to squeeze in a bit of preaching and evangelism it doesn't make a good job of that either. The theology was highly dubious.
Another will written futuristic space opera adventure thriller novel by E. R. Mason (Adrian Tam book 6) the adventure of space travel as a disaster happens and the team must restore things but too normal. The race is on too make it happen. I would recommend this series and author to 👍readers of adventure thriller space novels. Enjoy the adventure of reading or listening to Alexa. 2022 😄👒⌚😯
This was a great story. I really enjoyed it, but the editing left much to be desired. I would like to point out that spell checking only catches misspelled words, but can't help you if you've used the WRONG word. Summery for summary, for example. An isolated mistake of this type is understandable, but there were many of these. This kind of sloppiness really degrades the quality of the work for me, and shows that the author doesn't care enough about their final product.
Don't miss out on the Adrian Tarn earlier stories.
The Adrian Tarn, R.J. adventures are among my favorites. I find I care about the characters, which for me is what keeps me involved. The story has a good pace and I had trouble leaving it to attend to life. Hope there will be more.
I can't believe it. Holy Will Robinson. There's a reference to the film Forbidden Planet! How old is this author? That was a horrible movie. It's only saving grace is it provided Robbie the Robot to become a start. Did it come back in science fiction theater 2000? The story is an intense adventure where Earth is caught in a time loop where it blows up. We have a pair of entrepreneurs who have a vague similarity to EE Smith's Skylark duo. They get into trouble saving people, and they both have wonderfully beautiful female sidekicks who are ever so bright, in love, and patient with the male animal. Of course the language is a bit raunchier than the '30's, but the feel is the same. I used to like these kind of books when I was younger, so you might also. Now it's like reading your third Ellory Queen.
No plot spoilers No potential triggers There are no sex scenes There is a little swearing There are a few errors (incorrect words etc.) And at least one instance of poor editing, but it honestly does not impact the book. The characterisation is excellent, especially as by now on book 6 we know the main characters quite well, they have had time to seep into the reader's imagination and are old friends. The plotline is a bit slow in parts, I only have a light grasp on particle physics so it's impossible for me to critique the terminology or theorising, but it's presented in such a way that it's easy to follow. At it's most basic level it's actually an engaging plotline. I have no problem recommending the series to fans of the genre but would advise reading from the beginning to obtain the best reading experience. I intend to continue the series.
Let me start by saying that I love this series. This story has a time element (as the title suggests) that at times was very intriguing but difficult for me to follow. The comedic banter between the 2 male characters at the beginning of the story was really to much. Thankfully it calmed down as the story went on. I truly enjoy this author's style but it seems this is the last adventure for Adrian and his crew. I hope I'm wrong because I would definitely read another series with these characters.
Fast paced action sci-fi, including some unnecessary violence; however, the main plot holds itself remarkably, the author did an awesome display of his mastery in the subject of time travel and its fundamental laws and then some. There's some mistical aspects in the execution that I don't appreciate so much but to each its own and for that reason I gave this novel four and a half stars, all and all I enjoy this work of fiction throughout!
I did not find it captivating, but still, I enjoyed reading it. This is not the first story I read involving the CERN; it seems that the underground particle accelerator at the border of France and Switzerland creates fantasies of apocalyptic dimensions absolutely not proportionate to the energies involved even in the newest, more powerful ring.
Nice continuation of the personal story line for Tarn and an exciting mission to boot. It was good to see some of the other characters carry some of the heroics this time. And the growth in maturity of RJ and Adrian is also welcome. Just enough physics to be intriguing.
Even tho I have K.U. the book details sounded interesting enough that I paid for this book. Big mistake. I did get through the first chapter but that was it. I think the author was trying to be funny and just ended up being irritating Live and learn
Earth is in trouble and Adrian Tarn & co have to fix it. Sent by Nasebian emmisaries and coached by a space captain angel, Tarn's six seconds become Earth's last hope.
A great yarn about Tarn. Thought the hero was going to be killed off for along way in the book. Hope we do not have to wait as long again for the next one!!
I love the Adrian Tarn books, they are full of great adventure and wonderful characters. I always look forward to the next. This series is a must read.
