Preston went down a dark path, but he is no longer that man and rebuilt the relationships he destroyed. He and his brother are partners in their own private investigators business and they now find themselves investigating a case that involves something of which he has first hand experience.

Landon is a drug enforcement agent who has demons of her own. Her latest case reunites her and Preston, the man she spent one night with and felt a connection that she has never forgotten.

Working together the chemistry between them is stronger than ever but will they be able to help each other heal from their pasts?

Great characters, suspense and romance all add up to a captivating story.

I'm trying for a normal adult review here. Be the first to admit I tend to gush a bit here and there over my favorite authors. Which I feel is normal, I mean they take me away from the every day issues in life and pull me into the world they created. And really, we all need some escape, this is my escape of choice.
Now the story.......
Preston had my attention from Book one, he's not a perfect, do no wrong hero, he's damaged and struggles every day with his past. He never gives up, an Inspiration in book form, plus he's kinda hot. 🤷‍♀️
Landon, she was an enigma to me in the other books, I wasn't sure if she was what Preston needed or not. Her story wasn't what I was expecting, let's just say she really tugged at my emotions.
I was hooked from page one, I needed to know what was going to happen next, cause you know LK Shaw likes to get you, just when you think you have it all figured out, she gets you with something you completely over looked.
This series has become a favorite. I think of it as the perfect romantic suspense, say that because she keeps me in suspense. Bad guys, emotional issues, sexy scenes and then you get the ahhhhhh moments. Just perfect.

I've been binging this series, and I have to say, this is my favorite book of this authors yet!

We met Preston in book one, so we know that he's a recovering drug addict who is trying so desperately to right all the wrongs he did when he was using. Part of that is the one night of passion he and Landon shared two years ago -- one she promptly ran away from. Here are two broken characters, struggling to make peace with their always, who come together and form a beautiful love.

I loved the element of suspense in their story, and with both Landon and Preston working on the same case, which brings up different struggles for them both, I loved seeing how close it bright them together. Landon is a badass who I adore (She's seriously girl crush material) but Preston just completely stole my heart! I can't wait former in the series!

Your past is the foundation for who you become but you don’t have to let it define you. Landon has secrets that threaten to destroy her sanity if she can’t learn to forgive herself. Preston has overcome his narcotics addictions and is clean but he knows it’s a slippery slope. Maybe they can help each other use lessons learned and come out stronger on the other side. This romantic suspense will have you rooting for two very damaged people and leave you with a heart full of hope.

Two years ago, Preston and Landon shared a night of intimacy. It was the first time in their lives that they were able to let their guard down and relax with someone. Landon ran away, never to be seen again. Until now.

Preston is a drug addict. He has been clean for a while now and he and his brother have reconnected and started a PI agency. Their first case just so happens to be a drug case. His expertise as a previous user will allow for him to gain information that someone else wouldn’t be able to accomplish.

Landon has gone from a desk back into the field. She just so happens to be working on the case that Preston is working on, but in a different capacity.

They both have secrets from their pasts that are haunting them daily. Landon keeps running away because she doesn’t feel that she deserves to be loved and to feel love. Preston keeps chasing after her, because she is the only one that has allowed for there to be any peace in his heart.

I am so looking forward to the next book in the series.

Preston has a past that he's constantly trying to atone for, as he destroyed everything in his life, and it haunts him as he tries to stay clean. Landon is also a tortured soul, who can't get past something that happened in almost two decades, and it haunts her to no end, making her feel like she doesn't deserve anything good in her life. These two meets up one night, and they spend the night together, but before Preston wakes up, she's gone. Imagine his surprise when he comes face to face with her again after a couple of years, when they're working the same case. See, Preston & his brother finally mended bridges to start their own PI company, and their very first case is a doozie, which has the DEA (Landon's job) on it as well. From that point on, the twists & turns were coming from every direction, so while I was dropping f-bombs, I was also turning the pages as quickly as possible to find out what dogged both of these tortured souls. Atonement

Atonement by L. K. Shaw is the newest book in the Love Undercover series and features many of the characters we already know and love.

Preston, with his tortured and anguished soul is nearing rock bottom once again. Looking for some peace and a whole lot of forgiveness, serendipitously Landon appears, serenity in his sea of pain. Landon is also in search of redemption, allows herself one night where she isn’t alone, isn’t hurting.

What they don’t bargain for is to meet again, under very different circumstances, with very real connections. They must work together to fight a very real and dangerous threat. Past demons and lingering self doubts mean that both Landon and Preston have a very real war to fight, both figuratively and literally.

The push and pull between Landon and Preston is intense, passionate and full of angst.

This truly is worth a read! Dark, gritty and very satisfying!

We met Preston in book 1 – he’s Brody’s brother, and he is determined to atone for his sins, and he has ample opportunity for that here. Landon is part of his history – a hot night that she ran away from. Landon’s awesome, but it’s Preston that I fell for. It’s painful to watch him struggle with forgiving himself and hard to watch Brody try to help with that and protect him from himself. Landon is also fighting the demons of her past, and, finding herself as a DEA agent on the same case as Preston is as a PI, she can’t avoid him or her feelings any more. They are scorchingly hot together, and the story is fast-paced and un-put-down-able. It’s not one to read before bed; it will just stop you from going to bed because you’ll HAVE to finish it. And what an ending!

The connection that Preston and Landon have is phenomenal! They both have a last that they feel is unforgivable. The met 2 years prior to go the story and had one nig ht stand to temporarily forget their problems. They meet again 2 years later and Preston sees Landon drain and finds out she was his brother's handler In the DEA. The chemistry is still there but each remains stuck on their past. They both are working together to take Lena drug Lord who has a new drug that is killing people. This story develops as they discover that the may be forgiveable. LK Shaw is a always a good read with plenty of suspense and angst I the development of the romance. Awesome story about learning to forgive yourself for a perceived wrong you committed. Having someone else with you also going through the same thing and how that can help with the forgiveness.

Omg! You need to read this book! Book 3 of the love undercover series. This is a suspenseful intriguing read. It is also hot, has funny one liners, and two very vulnerable and broken characters. Preston is Brody's brother (book 1) which I loved already! Preston has sins he feels he must atone for. He's turned his life around, but still has not forgiven himself. He meets and is instantly attracted to Sara who has sins of her own. The story centers around them and an important undercover operation that is very dangerous. I read the story in in one sitting, couldn't put it down! Can't wait for the next book!

I really enjoyed this novel. Preston and Landon both have their own shadows following them. Guilt is a dangerous, and sometimes, debilitating emotion.

That night in the bar, Preston fends off an over bearing man. Before leaving, he wants to be sure, the lonely woman would be okay. Could Preston take away Landon's pain? Just one night?

Ms. Shaw did an amazing job with both of the main characters. I felt their pain, and felt their "recoveries." I felt deeply for Preston. He is my newest book boyfriend!

This was a read that went with what I have been reading alot of lately with it also filled a need to get away for a bit. This also seems to turn out to be a second chance even though at first I don't think Preston thinks like that so much at first with her not in the know. The alpha that he is we quickly attach to him again. Now with Landon on the scene they need to find some answers to some dangerous and killer questions. They have to be on the same page though if they want to be alive to experience that chance. You will get caught up in this fight also so we will get that escape you want. Twists and turns keep you in while things heat up all the way around. Received much satisfaction.

Atonement is book 3 in L.K. Shaw's Love Undercover series. Preston is a former addict that who has been trying for a long time to turn his life around. Landon has her own past that she is trying to move on from. When these two totally broken souls who come together one night it leaves a lasting memory on both of them, years later fate and a drug case bring them together again. Can they survive their pasts and move on to a future together or will the past destroy them?? I am absolutely in love with this series. It has so much emotion in each book. The characters are broken yet strong, working past all their personal demons. A definite not to be missed read.

LK Shaw keeps outdoing herself with each new release. I love the suspense, passion and intrigue that come with the Love Undercover series. The characters are so complex and deep, vulnerable, yet strong. The way that she write about characters with substance abuse in their past is so real, it makes my heart break and tears come to my eyes every time I read. I get so emotionally invested in these worlds that she creates. I was on the edge of my seat with each word that I read. I can't wait for more books and future series from LK!

Review: I did not read the previous 2 books in the series and they were not necessary to understand the book. The multiple POV was executed well. The story was action packed and thrilling. I loved the element of romance in the midst of everything else.

A Great Adventure

What a great adventure. Preston and his brother Brody start a PI business. Their first client wants them to find out who is behind the new drug on the streets. Landon is with the DEA. When Preston and Landon meet sparks ignite. Eventually, together they may solve This mystery. This book has action and intrigue. It has romance and angst. The story is so well told. This book is just another reason why I will one click anything LK Shaw writes. This story has all the emotions and will pull them out of you as you read Preson and Landon's journey! Both have pasts that are troubled but can they help each when the time comes? I loved the suspense, the drama and they little twists and Ms. Shaw is the queen of. Get this book and make sure you have the time because once you start reading, you will get sucked in, big time!

There are so many facets to this story and I was hooked from the beginning. Even if you haven't read the previous books in this story, it does stand alone and follows Landon and Preston. They both have their own demons but what hooked me, was that they were human. Preston is trying to move forward and when he sees Landon again, he knows he can't let her go. It's passionate, sexy, intriguing, emotional, and so much more packed into one amazing story.

The cheek and charm of Preston with the darkness and pain of Landon, can he win her over? The former addict trying to make the world right and safe to atone for his sins, can he do it?
I loved the pace of this book. The honesty, mixed with the pain of former sins and the realisation of self worth.

A great story of characters that have overcome tragedy in their lives. I enjoyed reading Preston and Landon's story. I was drawn into their story of sadness and love. They both were strong and loving characters. Then add the little bit of danger and that makes the love even stronger. It was a very enjoyable story.

Another fantastic book in the Love Undercover series. Preston and Landon have things from their past that they are trying to deal with and get over. Also while dealing with their past they are trying to find out who is responsible for selling a new drug called Rapture. To find out if Preston and Landon catch the drug dealer and deal with their pasts read this book.

I loved this third in the series. Fast paced, a couple wrap ups on outstanding series issues, some reminders (for me at least) from other stories and positive strength attributes that the author always just gets. We also get her normal of great suspense, hidden reveals, and great sexy time with main characters. Absolutely one of my favorite covers/models this year.
