From giant tortoises to penguins to Darwin's finches, this book peeks into the lives of the native wildlife who call this famous archipelago home. However, as invasive species threaten this fragile ecosystem, a wide variety of eradication techniques are explored ranging from bioremediation to fumigation to public education. Guardians of the Galapagos is a collection of the true inspiring stories of scientists and experts working to eradicate invasive species from the Galapagos Archipelago.
Richly explained but fast read. The author's passion is clearly evident in this book. Each persona is varied in their field of profession working towards a common cause to save the Galapagos. But needs editing as some concepts appear repetitive.
Hard to believe this is a book written by a senior high school student. Definitely my kind of book.
