Transfusion Saga #4

Rise of Ashes

Amelia

Lego sets, Star Trek and junk food in my pajamas,
These used to be how I would spend my safe and lazy days off.
Now, what am I doing with my time…?
High-speed chases, running from Hellhounds, fighting witches, opening boxes that threaten the entire Vampire race, and stabbing bitches with my shoes.
But hey, at least I get to wear a pretty dress on my date. Now all I can hope for is that it isn’t one where people end up shooting at us again.
That would be nice.
And all this was because I fell in love with a Vampire King.
A Vampire King, who claimed me.

Hmmm... The same story, plot and characters practically to the scene from Afterlife 2 (or 3) when Lucius kidnapps Kiera to Germany. Substitute Amelia (who calls herself Fae when talking to herself) for Kiera and add a lot of sex. A lot of other plot points from other books as well. Not all of below happened in this book, but did happen in previous books.

Kidnapping Kiera Amelia away from Dominic Lucius so that a group of people can make some big bad event happen.

Kiera Amelia being forced off a balcony kidnapped in a helocopter and ending up dumped in a frozen lake.

Kiera Amelia being DomninicsLucius's "Chosen One"

Kiera Amelia being dressed up in a white red ball gown and is the only one in white red amongst party goers at a masquarade put on by Dominic Lucius.

Pip being her cute self

Layla "Bitch Face" never-say-die, more lives than a cat, trying to hurt or kidnap Kiera Amelia

Witches A witch comes to Kiera Amelia in a dream to tell her some stuff

The table of council memebers where the King of Kings, DominicKing of Vampires, Lucius holds power over.

Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex.

Kiera Amelia pushing Dominic Lucius to tell her secrets that he isn't really interested in going over, and jumping to irrational conclusions.

Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex,

The once yearly party where all the council members dress in costume and dance while Kiera Amelia sits on Lucius's lap.

Kiera making her way underground to be confronted by some monster and barely making it out alive because Ruto saves her Amelia taking a quick trip to the bathroom and barely making it out alive after being confronted by three vampire chicks who end up turning into revenants.

Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex

Finally we end this book on a plane ride to Afterlife where Dominic Lucius feels KieraAmelia should be safe.

I have been waiting for the scene where Dominic finds out that Lucius has been totally defiling his daughter.

Next book.

I might wait until the series is over and goes to Kindle Unlimited (hopefully) to finish it. I was way too tired of the same plot elements being repeted ad nauseum and (I'd never thought this) too much sex. Reminded me of other series that basically took 2 months of time and spread it over 5 books of nothing getting done.

The plot moves about 20 pages worth forward.

Also, I am getting tired of the segues between chapters. They are little one lines in italics that are kind of a hard stop on the paragraph. Just a peeve.

Good read

Ok so I feel bad for giving Rise of Ashes 3 stars, if I could I would give it 3.5, but I honestly found my self going to different books on my Lincolnshire reading this. I could not stand reading Amelia say erm like 100 times in this book and in the last, for someone reason it drove me nuts. I found there was a lot of run on info that really didn't need to be there and that's when I would go to another book. For some reason I didn't get into that much. The love scenes were great and there was amazing fight scenes but other than that it fell short for me. I am a Huge fan of Stephanie so I almost feel like I am betraying her with this rating but I got to keep it real. Again the cover was beautiful, I just love Me Hudson's covers. I will definitely be reading the next one and I am hoping the erm is gone

I’m sorry but we spent three books going “don’t OPEN THE BOX” and now we open the box and literally no one cares? Lucius literally didn’t even mention it for like several chapters after because he needed to have sex with her first? Lol. Then we finally get a littleeeee sprinkle of resolution about Amelia’s mommy issues, but by this point, I thought she was over it since she basically hasn’t mentioned it since book 1? On top of all that… I’m so lost in what is supposed to be the point of this book. Do we even have a beginning, middle and end? What is the point of this book? No actual direction for the characters or the plot, just a lot of lust and sex.

I would also like to mention the mmc said and I quote… “FUCK! RAWWWR!” At one point while finishing. I’ve never in my 800+ books read, including several monster eroticas, seen “Rawwwr” used in any context. Truly a feat.

It’s only saving Grace is the smut is solid (aside from the previously mentioned rawwwr) and I like the characters. But continuing this series might give me an aneurysm. How does 12 books have the dialogue formatted in this way? It’s borderline unreadable with the sentence literally broken in half between a line break and a paragraph indentation. Does anyone know why it is like that?????

Amelia, Lucius

• Amelia has become annoying as all hell.
• Both have such repetitive internal dialogue that I skim a lot of these parts just to "get on with it."
• Overall plot line takes a back seat to petty arguements between A & L.
• Some beautiful scenes, but kind of ruined by the focus on sex between the couple. Takes away from rest of the story. Don't NEED to describe every sexual encounter to write a good romance.
• Amelia's "sort-of Aunt" Pip is introduced in the series. While her character is quirky and funny at times, her and Amelia's discourse is like nails on a chalkboard. Not cute. Aggravating. Especially when Lucius, Amelia, Pip and Adam are interacting. They're immature teens: not long-lived immortals. I think the author's attempt at comic relief falls flat, or at least, misses the mark.

Loving Pip

I’m so glad that Pip & Adam came into this book as it added an extra comic direction. Amelia & Lucian have deepened their connection & its all moving along at a great pace. Yet another great ending with more to come

The entire storyline could be really good. That being said, I’m not sure how this author is a number 1 best seller. I have a hard time getting past the fact that it badly needs professional editing and that over half the books are filler, redundant, and grammatically unstable. So many sentences make no sense. I feel like this series has been dragging people along to keep them hooked. Sex is fine, but not at cost to the story line. These stories seem than half sexual content and about a quarter plot. The rest, I can’t even begin to figure out why it is in there.

Another great installment

Like the other books this one was just as intense well written and humorous. The characters feel very real and the scenes are so well written they play in my head like a movie

These books are super fast paced and easy to read! And hey as much as I'm complaining I'm going onto book 5 now!
Apart from some huge plot holes which I will get to later I'm not hating it half as much. Amelia is a dream character she's naive and geeky but full on warrior mode when needs be and I'm not finding her juvenile and annoying anymore. As for Lucius, well he is a plot hole in himself but at least we have some different side characters that seem to be staying for a bit not like the ones that we lost and never heard from again.
For the Almighty powerful king with an army and every available resource he seems to be losing quite a lot! How much has her life been threatened now? It is very much the same story with no plot progress but hey there is a bit more action in this one. I like how we're finally going to learn how she isn't human but I may be wrong as I'm still not over half way but surely it's got to be coming soon and let's hope for every readers sake that this plot speeds the fuck up! Because by the time I reach I'm going to be asking what it is I just read and how pointless it was. But for now I have hope! It's going to get better. Like I said. Hope!

I really enjoyed the first two books but the third book it started to get ridiculous but I read on.

I'm having a hard time with this book, can't find the incentive to continue read it atm.
To me Lucius is out of character. Meaning his reactions to everything is over the top, unnecessary. The most annoying part for me about him is that he is always bursting out laughing and it's so freaking annoying!!
Other part is that he isn't overprotective it's more like he is over controlling have to have it his way
Lots of his dialog is chaptalized. This one made me laugh "FUCK! RAWWWWR" he roared.

Amelia...
I really like her at the beginning too. She is very gullible and kind of an air head tho.
She says "erm" a lot. I think it may be a tick she has or something.
Lucius yells/roars at her a lot and a few times he has gotten a slap or two in which was hilarious.
There seems to be more sex scenes than actual plot and I have even skipped some paragraphs when things are explained for two whole paragraphs.

Might be a while before I move onto the next book(s)

Oh YES! Great installment! Our little nerd Amelia continues to confound Lucius -and you can tell he is loving it! Just when he thinks he has her figured out, she does something else to take him (and us) by surprise. Way to kick butt Fae!
This also has Amelia allaying some ideas about her mother and Lucius' pasts - although her curiosity knows no bounds!
And Lucius, for his part, is showing (dare I say it?) his "human?" side....worried that Amelia won't look at him the same way of feel about him as she does if she were to know his full past. Once again, the big bad Vampire King showing us his tender, vulnerable side.
A whole new bag of worms has been opened with more rogues showing up and maps to decipher. Can't wait for the Book#5! (and Draven's response to Amelia's place in Lucius's life - should be REALLY INTERESTING! - hope he remembers how it felt)

Lucious and Amelia continue to make me swoon!

Book Four of the Transfusion series gives us more of the courtship between Lucius and Amelia. In this book, it’s Lucious birthday and there is a mysterious masquerade ball. The magical night turns into something unholy as it’s never a dull moment between these two.

The muster continues and the reader is treated to more delicious scenes between this hot couple. Including a very interesting shibari scene! I just give it to Stephanie Hudson. I’m usually a bit annoyed by her need to over-describe every little detail in her books. However, she did an amazing job bringing that scene and a the masquerade ball to life. I just give her two thumbs up for this book. So far, this series still has me in its hook!

Happy reading!

Everything I wanted for Amelia and more

This book finally gave Amelia her moment to shine and kick butt. My favorite chapters were 26-28, and when you read them you'll know why. I love seeing the relationship grow between Lucius and Amelia. Speaking of Amelia, she finally lets go of some of her fears and apprehension related to Lucius. I feel like she is starting to understand what being an 'eternal life partner's is all about. The ending was pure gold and had true Amelia resourcefulness. Can't wait to see how Dearest Daddy Draven takes the news about his previous girl being Lucius's Chosen One.

I am loving these books and after the cliff hanger from the last book this one started straight after Amelia opened the box.
I am loving the heat and chemistry between Amelia and Lucius as i mean who wouldn't fall for the hot vampire king. Phew!!
We are getting more and more into why everyone wants the box and why, so i expected there to be another cliff hanger at the end of this book and yeah there was so now off to download the next book in this fantastic series.
They are going to be back at Afterlife where Dominic Draven is *sigh*, well i hope this is where they will end up, i will need to keep reading to find out.

I’m enjoying the series for the most part but these books are in serious need of a Copy Editor. The over use of the word “for” in places where “because”, or “due to”, or “since” would be appropriate and even in cases where it’s completely unnecessary is very distracting. It might make sense in say for example a historical where someone from the 16th century is speaking in a very formal setting, but this book is set in modern day and is out of context with the characters. There are a number of incorrect word usages that might be overlooked but when you combine everything it’s all rather disappointing.

Thrills & Chills!

Stephanie Hudson has to be THE Queen of romance, action and excitement - hands down! I am not quite sure how she manages to keep the story flowing from novel to novel, yet somehow her Transfusion books seem to keep getting progressively better. In this fourth installment, Lucius and Amelia are working on growing and cementing their relationship, while still trying to uncover the secrets of that mysterious box. Because it is more romance focused, the sensuality level in Rise Of Ashes is off the charts intense and not for the faint of heart.... A word of caution, don't read it in a room with others watching.

So many twists for our Lucius and Amelia

I am reading this series and enjoying it. I am just happy Lucius found his Chosen One or should I say formally accept Amelia. These two are so entertaining. It’s fun to enjoy their banter and sexy times. I like Amelia’s personality better than her mom’s personality (Keira). Mainly I prefer the leading ladies not to repeat the same mistakes of running head in into danger at every opportunity. Amelia is less of that and has so mad fighting skills thanks to Dominic. I appreciate the strength in her. Pip squeak and Adam are back and the rainbow sparkle continues. FYI: this book hears on a cliffhanger. Read On!

Every time I read I think that was the best one she has written until she smashes another one out and it’s even better then before
I’m so very glad there was not a long wait for this book. again there was adventure, romance and steamy times, as well as humour. I love Amelia’s character I also really enjoyed reading Lucius’s point of view, it really adds to what is already a great story giving me as the reader a bit of an insight into how he thinks, overall a fab read and I’m really looking forward to reading book 5

It took me less than 4 days to read the first 5 books in this series.

In times of Corona, I thought that an escape from reality would do me good, but ... wow .... Lucius and Amelia's relationship is a pure roller coaster ride and then the respective cliff hangers ... - I just needed more and more of these two (LOL). I also like that the plot is told alternately from two different perspectives.

If you like fantasy with strong characters (which are sometimes "a little bit" overdrawn*), I highly recommend this series.

*That will often make you LOL a lot. Promise.

Great read Can't wait for the next book!

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventures and erotic love making.
I love the way it keeps me anxiously awaiting that next move in their lives. I love the Amelia & Luscious characters and their story, and am really looking forward to getting all the books in the series in audio books. I really like to listen more than read, but I can't help myself. I am addicted ! I have to read to get my fix .😊 I like all of them so far.
For Stephanie** Love your work. Please take care and be safe. Thanks 😷😍

5 STARS IS NOT ENOUGH

Another amazing addition to the series.
Oh Lucias. Swoon.
The box is open and wow. I didn’t expect that!
Yep Lucias and Amelia are facing one hell of a problem now. The bond however is just getting stronger and stronger.
Now heading back to a place they have to pretend they are just friends, pfft. Can’t wait to read how that’s going to pan out.
I highly recommend this series oh but please think about reading Afterlife first.

good story but spoilt a bit with over the top silly in at least one chapter

the story is in fact very good! but for me it went far from funny with the Pip fiasco. this just meant I had to skip huge passages of the book or I would have given up. great start to the book and good finish, I get the feeling there was another set of books before this as there are references to other story’s in the book

Mind warp

Holy hell Batman!! Can Amelia get anymore badass than she already is? I’d say hell YES she can!! This girl could seriously be king herself and rule a kingdom in hell all on her own! The type of girl that most heroines think they are but damn this girl is the real deal! The way she handles everything isn’t so graceful but who cares when you’re Amelia Draven....get it girl!!

Amazeballs....awesome sauce

These books seem to go so quickly...as the good ones often do.......then I'm left wanting more. The book was hot and steamy, lucius is super alpha Male and dominant as all get up. Amelia is kick ass and keeps surprising us at every turn. I feel like there is so much left to be revealed and I cant wait til Dom finds out.

OMG! How do these keep getting better???

How is it even possible for each book to continue to get better, when the first was epic, and now they are double digits down the road? This is one amazing author. You won’t regret buying this...ever... well unless you don’t read all the predecessors... in which case...well you might be a bit lost then... Definite must read though.
