Whisper Hollow, where spirits walk among the living, and the lake never gives up her dead...
Fifteen years ago, I ran away from Whisper Hollow, Washington, a small town on Crescent Lake in the Olympic Peninsula. But truth is, if you were born here, you can never really leave. I'm Kerris Fellwater, and I'm a spirit shaman. It's my responsibility to drive the dead back to their graves, because around Whisper Hollow, people-and secrets-don't always stay buried.
Veronica, Queen of the UnLiving, is causing trouble. When I request an audience with her, she tells me something big is coming, something that even the Hounds of Cú Chulainn fear. Now, Bryan and I must enlist the help of the dead in order to keep the spirit world from unwinding and to keep the Hounds from using the approaching disaster for their own ends.

I couldn’t put this down. Whisper Hollow is a fascinating world - small town charm combined with the stuff of nightmares. Looking forward to the next book.
OMG, I could not put this book down until I finished the very last page. From the moment that I started this amazing book I was taken away. This book has it all, intrigue, romance, and the paranormal. This book is amazing and once you start you will be hooked. The book moves along at a nice pace, the characters are so real that you feel as though you know personally and the story is one of the best that I have read. This book needs to be read, no doubt about it. I was given an Advance Reader Copy as a gift from author without obligation. I am providing an honest review."
Whisper Hollow is a place where spirits roam, the Lady of the lake never gives up her dead and where Kerris Fellwater is the new spirit shaman of the town. This time, someone is killing teenagers and the spirits are not resting across the veil like they would after being sent there by Kerris. A danger threatens Whisper Hollow and when Veronica, Queen of the Unliving, requests Kerris’s help as this danger is also attacking Veronica’s court. Now with the help of her guardian/fiancé, Bryan Kerris must enlist the help of the dead in order to help keep Whisper Hollow and the spirit world safe.
Wow, this third book in the Whisper Hollow series just kept me glued to the pages. I loved being back here and this time something threatens not just the town but the spirit world as well. I got to admit this author is my catnip when it comes to her books. They are well written, filled with amazing diverse characters that just make the reader swoon with delight and keep the readers attention with a fast-flowing storyline that will steal your heart. With the right amount of tension, action, mystery and more, THE PHANTOM QUEEN delivers a high-octane adventure that left me literally hanging with each page as the twists and turns revealed themselves.
Welcome to Whisper Hollow, a place where spirits roam and sometimes never stay dead and Kerris has returned to take the mantle of the town’s spirit shaman after her grandmother’s death. As she becomes more secure in her position as spirit shaman, she finds herself learning more about herself, what she can do and more. I loved learning more about her, her relationships with Bryan, Peggin and the town residents had me just enthralled. She is really growing within this book and I enjoyed seeing how many of the main characters compliment one another as well as the town. We also meet a few new characters that had me intrigued over their role in this magical town. The characters are what drives me to read this author’s books as well as her wild and wonderful stories. They are diverse, well-crafted and I would love to visit Whisper Hollow just to see some of these characters in real life. Doctor Devine sounds like a fun person and Peggin is a hoot. I also enjoyed finding more about Veronica and her role in the series. She is spooky yet so intriguing. I hope we get more of her in future books as well.
THE PHANTOM QUEEN delivers a perfect story in the Whisper Hollow series and as Kerris finds her footing as spirit shaman to the town and secure in her love with her guardian/fiancé, Bryan, I find myself wanting more books set in this wonderful world. If you enjoy a darker paranormal/fantasy series that will keep you on the edge of your seat, then give the Whisper Hollow series a try. It is a fun filled ride from start to finish and you won’t want to put it down. I look forward to seeing where the author goes next for Kerris and the gang in future books. I just hope we won’t have long to wait for our next installment in this fascinating magical town.

I've waited to return to Whisper Hollow and the wait was worth it! So excited to delve further into Kerris's life and journey as a spirit shaman. So so glad Ms. Galenorn was able to take us back! Can't wait to return again and again! Bravo!
I really enjoyed this book in a way that I haven't in months. I was totally sucked in. I looked forward to picking it up every time, it never felt like a struggle to read. I'm so glad we got to go back to this world because it has been awhile since the first two books. Honestly, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that it ended a little abruptly. I thought I had about 1/2 the book left when I checked the % on the ebook and it said I was at about 80% and I was shocked. And as soon as I realized that everything wrapped up super fast with a neat little bow and it seemed to come out of nowhere.
These characters have grown so much and this one read a bit more like a suspense in trying to track down a serial killer, even if he was a necromancer. There are also a lot of unsettled elements and I sincerely hope this series continues on for a few more books at least. There's so much more to tell.
This is such a great series, I love how each character is fully formed and the back story is fleshed out. I can see each of these characters in my mind. I want to see what happens next with Kerris and the gang. I would love to hear her learning more of her history … plus her wedding …

This was another great book in this series. Kerris, the spirit shaman of Whisper Hollow, has settled very well to her role and is finally understanding how important her work is in keeping the town safe. She now has a great group of friends and associates who all work well together and the network they have built together is getting stronger by the day.
When the Crow Man makes a visit to Kerris, he leaves her with one of his riddles, but it soon becomes apparent what he really means, when her presence is requested by one of the more scary and more dangerous residents of Whisper Hollow. This time, though, there is nothing nefarious going on, but Kerris's help and skills as the Spirit Shaman are needed desperately to help the one person she never thought would ask for her help.
A danger is at large, but this one is a new threat to all in Whisper Hollow and Kerris must do everything she can to get rid of it before too many people are hurt!
I loved the main story arc of this book - the idea of the villain was great and I loved how all the different communities within the town pulled together when danger was approaching fast! I love Kerris and her friends; their relationships are strong, but not suffocating or cheesy in any way. The introduction of a couple of new characters from the town was fun to read too, especially Puck!
This has been a great series to read so far and I can't wait for the next installment. Thank you to Ms Galenorn for the opportunity to read and review this book.
The Whisper Hollow series is full of twists and turns. I like the variety of characters and the juxtaposition of magic life with current life. Characters are very well developed, almost real, making some even scarier.
weird. I enjoyed this one, but it definitely wasn't my favorite in the series. I am glad we finally got to read more once Yasmine got back the rights and i am dying to read more int he series for sure.
I would highly recommend this book. Its amazing. It keeps you on your toes and has everything a great book needs to keep you from putting it down. I can't wait for the next book to come out.
Characters are growing and I am loving this series. This book was great at given more info on what whisper hallows is all about and all the great characters that live there.
How I wish this wasn’t the last book. I love Kerris and Bryan and the journey they are on together. This story had some interesting twists. Definitely kept my interest. Highly recommend the series.
Love the story line and have been reading her for years. She has interesting base of knowledge of different realms and love how she pulls it all together.
I was given an ARC as a gift from the author without obligation. I am providing a fair and honest review. When the Whisper Hollow series first debuted in 2015, I fell in love with it. After 4 years between books, I'm ecstatic that it is being continued ~ thank you , Ms. Galenorn ! Kerris Showalter lives in small town Whisper Hollow, WA. It's not your ordinary small town, as Kerris is a spirit shaman ~ she keeps the dead from walking, and lives in a world of mists and shadows. Bryan, fiance & guardian is a wolf shifter, her friend Ellia is a lament singer, and many supernatural beings and spirits reside within the town. If you're meant to be in Whisper Hollow , you will be. The Hollow has a sentience like that. Kerris & Byran, her guardian are bound to the Morrigan. Penelope guides the dead through the Veil, except they're not staying there, and people are disappearing. Veronica, the Queen of the Unliving, summons Kerris for help when things are out of control. Who , or what, is doing this? And how and why? I can't say how excited I am about this series coming back... Ms. Galenorn is such an astounding writer in this urban fantasy/paranormal romance series ! I swear I felt every cold breeze, snowflake, and smell the forest detritus. The characters are so well fleshed, you feel as if you know them . When you read Yasmine Galenorn, it's like diving into the book as a character yourself. Do yourself a favor ... pick up the Whisper Hollow Series and read it. Oh, and don't forget to follow the 7 rules of Whisper Hollow on the sign if you intend to stay alive...
A new darkness has wandered into Whisper Hollow just as Kerris has begun to settle nicely into her role as spirit shaman. Fast paced and action packed, unlikely alliances, and dark magic grab the reader from page one. The Phantom Queen is a page turner from beginning to end.
Kerris is becoming confident within her role of spirit showman. I love that she admits that there is still much for her to learn yet she is learning new things about who she is and what she does each day. I like the little things that you see within her friendship with Peggin. Yes we have got to know these characters in previous books but I feel like now that the series is set up we are really getting to see who these characters are. I love that Kerris understands the importance of relationships. Kerris is a very sweet and caring woman yet she can be as tough as any of the creatures that she comes across if need be. I really enjoyed the little intimacies shared by Bryan and Kerris. I also enjoyed getting to know the townspeople. They are a fun and interesting bunch that truly lend more to the story than what you think they would.
I’m so excited for Ms. Galenorn to continue the Whisper Hollow Series. The Phantom Queen was well worth the wait. Ms. Galenorn dazzles her readers with interesting characters, a good plot, great world building and a satisfying ending. Whisper Hollow is a dark and mysterious town but it also has a warmth that makes you feel like you’ve come home.
I was given an Advance Reader Copy as a gift from author without obligation. I am providing an honest review.
This book definitely picked up the action, compared to the first two. While those were more about the setting, people and relationships in Whisper Hollow, this book is about all of that against something new, big and evil that terrorizes the town. (Want to know what that is!? Then get the book!!!)
We still get to see the relationships evolving and new people coming to the town and fitting in, but I felt that most of the focus was on how they fought the threat. I was really surprised about the relationship between Kerris and Veronica (Queen of the UnLiving) – while at first they might seem at odds, the connection between them is quite the twist. However, I felt that the two powers coming together expresses the main feeling of Whisper Hollow perfectly: alive or spirit, Whisper Hollow is their home and no one comes and makes a mess without them doing something about it!
If you’ve read and liked the first two books, you’re going to love this one as well. And if you’re reading this without having read the first two, you could try to read it stand-alone as well. Ms. Galenorn makes a good job of taking care of that with her series. However, I warn you that you’ll want to read more and you’ll end up picking the rest of the series anyway…

This book was fast pace. From the very first page you are pulled into Kerris's life and the issues that she has been dealing with. More of the dead keep coming back and now Veronica, Queen of the Unliving, wants Kerris to hunt down a killer who targets the living and the dead. Kerris has to rely on unlikely ally's in order to stop this person before he strikes again. Really this was a great new book to the series. I can't say it enough, but I am so glad the author got the rights back to this series so that she could continue it. You learn more about the citizens in this book, which I enjoy about this series. She doesn't dump all the information on you about the people of the town, instead you learn about them as the character does, making it feel more organic. It is enjoyable. Highly recommend you start with the first book, Autumn Thorns, and enjoy the books. They really are facinating and if you are a Yasmine Galenorn fan, you will love these.
No spoilers here, just that this is an incredible book. There is a magic to the way Yasmine writes, I can see the shimmer in the freshly fallen snow, feel the winter's chill in my bones. I can almost smell the forests of the Pacific Northwest and hear the caw of the crows. Combined with fantastic characters and a great plotline my recommendation is to but not just this book, but the whole series, and read them quickly for the first read and savor them for the second, third, etc reads. All of Yasmine's series and books deserve that.
The Phantom Queen by Yasmine Galenorn’s third book in the Whisper Hollows — where the Lake doesn’t give up her dead, and the dead don’t always stay buried. As a Spirit Shaman, Kerris Fellwater along with her Guardian Bryan, return the dead to their graves.
When the Queen of the Unliving tells Kerris there’s a bad coming, big enough to scare even the Hounds, she has to enlist the dead to help fight, or risk losing all of Whisper Hollows.
I’m so excited this series is back, and continuing! Thank you Ms. Galenorn! Your words always seem to speak to me, and I’ve enjoyed this wild ride with you through all your Series’! If you didn’t pick up this one when the first two originally released, you need to grab all three and catch up! Kerris is a heroine to enjoy!! A full 5 stars.
I think this is my favorite book in the series so far. It was packed full of action. I love that in every book we get to learn more about an important character and get introduced to another new character. Kerris seems to be finding her own way as spirit shaman. I love her idea and think that might open up some other new worlds to write about and possibly crossover books. The ending was just perfect. I cannot wait for the next book.
