Alex Lidell is one of those authors who is seemingly unable to write anything that’s not great. Her Power of Five series is a perfect example of it, and it’s spinoff, the Great Falls Academy serial, has proven to be equally great. Happily, Prowess Trials (Episode 8), holds up the quality and fans of this author’s work are pretty much guaranteed to love it. Crazy twists and all this is simply superb and easy to recommend to lovers of the serial. (Newcomers, however, really, really need to start this serial with its great book 1.)

We are so close to the end, I both want to read the next and want to put it off indefinitely so I don’t have to say goodbye.
This book was just great, Lera has spent these past episodes questioning her worth and trying so hard to prove herself. When she opens herself up, bares herself to her males completely, it’s such a beautiful moment. Alex Lidell is over here making me cry two installments in a row😭😭.
I can’t wait for the next, and last, in the series. Lera and her males have such a special place in my heart...if you don’t know them yet, you need to!

Aaaargh! The tension!
I don't know whether I love or loathe getting this story in episodes, rather than in longer books. I mean, it's great that the wait is shorter between releases, but, it's such a tease getting these fast paced pieces of the story and then having to wait for the next episode. I can't wait for the final one, and then I'll read them over again back to back.

So apparently the deeper you get into the episodes, the better the books get. Because the first 6 were not that great. This book a lot happened, it's like we have finally reached the arc of the story. And the ending was like "WOW". I don't want to give any spoilers but there was some good breakthroughs with the characters and the overall story line.
Definitely recommend reading and am excited for the next and the end of the series.

I'm ready to reach through the book and shake some of these boys.
I need them to shake this magic off and finally show up to the game. Lera has taken on so much and she's hitting a wall. She needs the support of these men and I need them to get it together.
While we have some of the boys have gotten on board, we need the whole quint.
With only one book left-- I know it's going to be an epic conclusion.

Lera has 2 and 1/2 of her mates back. Tye, Coal and Shade's wolf but things are getting Bad at the academy because one teach is fae night guard and he has been moving in lots more.
What is Lera going to do? She didn't pass the test River fixed for her because she ran out. Headmaster isn't going to been the rules for her. Then there is the problem of the night guard attacking any time now, River and Shade not having their memoirs. Talk about thinks getting messed up!
That a story and the ending! OMG yea can't tell you lol but I can't wait for the next book because it's not over! Yeah! This book had great characters, awesome action, bad guys!, drama, mystery, spice, and so much more. I couldn't put it down. Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it.
What is Lera going to do? She didn't pass the test River fixed for her because she ran out. Headmaster isn't going to been the rules for her. Then there is the problem of the night guard attacking any time now, River and Shade not having their memoirs. Talk about thinks getting messed up!

I have read every book of the main series and have read every episode of this one.. I can honestly say nothing could have prepared me for that ending. I was on edge the whole time hoping everything will work out by the end and then bam. Sooo good and now I'm sad I have to wait for the next one.

Wooo weee. That was amazing. With Tye being back to normal, I couldn’t help but laugh. But that ending. Now that ending was of EPIC proportions; I cried, was stunned and laughed my butt off. Fluff yeah!!! Let’s get that next book started!

Finally we get everyone back together but wow what a cliffhanger never saw that coming.
I actually liked all the guys in this for a change and the action was executed very well.

Absolutely epic episode
What a cliffhanger! I hung on every word in this episode. Woohoo! Loved it! Especially Coal’s reaction! I will certainly be reading the next and final episode. This series is a must!

This book just left me speechless. We are at the stage where their enemies have revealed themselves and that Lera’s quint is still in danger and the last two of her men still needs their memories’ returned.
During the start of the prowess trials, something occurred. In order for Lera to protect Tye, she had to use magic but lost control of it which in turn set ablaze the whole stage. This is where the enemies took over.
River was apparently dying and Lera had ko choice but to force her quint to connect. That gave me a scare because Shade was still in his wolf form and they need his daw form. Luckily, Lera was able to do something about it. Her love for her men save River. As this occurred, another surprised was revealed at the end. I totally did not see that coming and Coal’s reaction was quite hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing.
We only have one more book to go before this series’ end. I’m quite sad to see them go at the same I can’t wait to find out the conclusion for this book. I really hope all the guys contributed and just not a single one. You’d understand my meaning once you’ve read the book.

OMG so much happens in this book it wow wow

Coal has Zake in a cell and has been getting information out off him about the attack on the academy and he leaves to go check out what Zake has told him. While he is gone Tye is doing a routine to open the prowess trails when the veil on magic is released and there powers are unlocked so to speak and this does not go well for Lera even though she is only trying to save Tye for Hans she lose control of her magic. River grabs Lera when the arena goes up in flames River drags Lera away from the fire but Lera discovers that he is inured and Lera tries to help by using her magic to save him and she cant. Shade wont turn back to his fae from so Lera connects the quint together in a hope to make shade shift back. what an ending i was so excited and really coal lol and cant wait to see what happens next. But am also so sad as there is only one more book left in this series i love the story and the character so much that i don't want it to end especially after the ending in this book just want the story to go on

What i love most is when an author creates a world and characters that become so reall. You follow their journeys and enjoy every second of it.
Every time i come to read another episode in Lera's journey it feels like greeting old friends. No matter how much time passes you can just pick up the next book and delve in because you know those charcters so well.
I love Alex's writing style She has a completely unique way of writing and bringing these characters to life. The world building is superb. The character's and formed brilliantly. Each ome with their own complex personality like a reall person.
The reverse harem side is excellent. And Alex lidell, just has a way of writing sex scenes to die for.
I Absalutely loved episode 8 the Prowess Trials... but feeling sad and distraught that this only leaves one more episode as we reach the end of this beautifully written world.
If there was a button for a 100 stars thats what i would choose... these books are gems and 100% worth reading. If you haven't yet picked up Lera's story you must... starting with book 1 "The Power Of Five"

Everything is falling apart for Lera. She has Tye back but has lost River. Everything she tried so hard to prevent has been futile. The wards have crashed down. Trying to save Tye she creates chaos and put everyone she tried to protect into the hands of the Night Guard. Arisha is missing. River is seriously hurt. Shade won't leave his wolf form and is unreasonable in his protection of her. Even with Rivers life hanging in the balance. When Lera forces them to connect, hoping Shade wolf will let go, that goes awry as well. She confesses all her perceived sins into the link. Then they learn the reason behind Shades wolfs, fierce protective stance.
Fast paced and steamy. Ends in an expected cliffhanger. Lera may have Shade back but River is still uncertain. Love this series. One book to go, can't wait to see how things will end.

Uggghh!!!!
I’m not happy. Seriously I feel like this episode was shorter than rest. And it will be torcher having to wait till January for the last episode. But I’m ready to see how this season ends. And I’m not threatening but I am. There be another season. Because I am seriously hooked on phonics. And would be totally sad if I couldn’t have more.
Soooo Lera is preggers. With twins. Who did not see that coming. I mean I know they have been having unprotected sex and all that but I was thinking there had to be some magical intent to conceive. Guess not. I love the fact that out of all the guys Coal faints. I just didn’t peg any of them as faintest. But I love that it’s mister oh so serious, dont mess with me Coal. Love it.
So now the wait. Let me reiterate I’m not happy about this wait. At all.

I can't quite believe this was the penultimate episode of this serial - the end is so close and I'm not ready! I really enjoyed this River-centric episode - I have always loved his steadfast, honorable (and hot too!) character, and how his love for Lera has impacted him - and those elements really came into play in this one. The ending was a doozy and I laughed out loud at the final sentence. As much as I can't wait for the final episode it is definitely bittersweet as these are some of my favorite reverse harem characters ever and each story makes me nostalgic for the fantasy adventure books of my youth - I will miss this world for sure!

Wow !! Another action packed episode for the 8th book. We are getting near the end with one more book to go. Tye's life is in danger and Lera has to save him but it has massive consequences. She also has to face River who thinks she has lied to him and at the same time the night guard is attacking. A gripping read with an ending that will leave you desperate for the last book. Am desperate to read it but sad at the same time that this brilliant series is coming to an end!

Alex gave us a fantastic episode with the Prowess Trials and then with the last few chapters kicking it right up to the crescendo that their quint is now seven??? Lera is pregnant I'm assuming but I'll have to wait and read!!

OH MY GOD! This book brought so many emotions. Happiness in the beginning over Tye and Coal being with Lera. Fear of River and what his rejection means. Worry for Shade stuck in wolf form. Then things get bad, with Owalin pushing ahead early, the fire at the arena, and the failing quint bond. There was so much packed in this book. But nothing, I mean nothing, prepared me for the ending....
