Another fun entry in the D&D Young Adventurer's Guide, this is basically a Monsters & Creatures Part 2 that classifies its creatures by size, starting with the tiny cranium rat and ending in the gargantuan tarrasque, the one D&D monster to have kaiju status! Easy-to-read, full of imagination fodder and containing some cool illustrations (including a male Medusa, nice) this is another book that I'll definitely use to introduce my kids to D&D, if I ever have 'em.

A fun, light-hearted guide book for new players and young readers of Dungeons & Dragons. These are a lot of the types of beasts a new player might encounter, but it also gives a taste of some of the more powerful beasts waiting for players to reach higher levels of experience.

You can't help but form quests and NPCs while reading this book, seriously, keep a notepad close. Even though an experienced DM will have knowledge about all of these creatures, they are given great "player-facing" information which you can directly share and build upon.
