Manuel “Manix” Abrera graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines–Diliman. He is the author of the daily comic strip Kikomachine Komix in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, and the weekly webcomic News Hardcore in GMA News Online. He has currently authored twenty books and has won the National Book Awards for his wordless graphic novel 14, comics compilation News Hardcore, and comics compilation Kikomachine Komix 14: Alaala ng Kinabukasan. I think the main reason we wanted Bertong Badtrip back (for good) is because he gives us the satisfaction of justice from the daily and minute injustices we experience.

BERTONG BADTRIP. Hindi siya masamang tao--badtrip siyang tao!

For some nefarious reason, naaalala natin yung mga kamag-anakan ni s*tan sa senado--este sa kalsada. Babagsak sila sa impyerno na akala nila heaven. Dun lang sila sa gilid ng bundok na may downward slope na may eternal torture sa baba kapag nalaglag sila. Bwahahaha!

Naaalala rin natin si Goody Pakyutsie agshihi! Nakakalungkot man ang pagkawala mo, niluwa naman ng impyerno si Berto para ipaalala ang kabutihan mong taken for granted ng lahat ng mga VIPs sa higher ups ng food chain. .
Hats off lagi kay Sir Manix! Naubos tawa ko sa bawat pahina nitong nakakadiablong kabadtripan ss earth! Labyu, men! Rak en roll! 🤟

This comic book talks a little about the conception of Bertong Badtrip and his adventures. It's also a collection/compilation of all his strips on the Kikomachine Komix series. It's funny and witty - I've already read some strips here as I've read a lot of Kikomachine Komix but it never fails to make me laugh.

Walang kupas ang istilo ni sir Manix sa pagguhit at pagpapatawa!

Sang-ayon sa pamagat na Bertong Badtrip!, compilation ito ng mga strips ni Berto na grabe naman super relatable, pati ikaw mababadtrip. Haaarrgh! Mabuti at may special segment si Bertong Badtrip tungkol sa kaniyang "special hell" wooh buti nga sa lahat ng mapupunta doon!

Nakakatuwa rin na kasama rito ang kwento kung paano nabuhay si Berto, namatay at muling nabuhay (dahil sa isang taong super badtrip kaya umahon sa hukay si Berto!). Dito ko nasabi na hindi lang siya isang karakter, siya ay isang tao na nagrerepresent ng lahat ng badtripness na nararamdaman ng mundo.

Ang takeaway ko lang dito, kung si Berto ay nabuhay muli sa ubod ng lakas na badtripness from that one person, posible bang mangyari din ito kay goody pakyutsie at siya ay mabuhay muli? O wala talagang taong makapapantay sa kabaitan ni goody?
