The night Heavenly Young gave her innocence to Dr. Kenneth Beckman and Seth Cooper, her world was ripped apart by betrayal and tragedy. She leaves behind everything and everyone to fulfill a deathbed promise and start her life over. But her solitary quest forces her to face her past and question where her future truly lies—alone or in the arms of the two unforgettable men she loves?
After putting his heart on the line—something Seth swore he’d never do again—he’s devastated when Heavenly walks away from him and Beck. Hell-bent on reclaiming her, they chase her down and help her complete her solemn duty. But Heavenly is caught between independence and love, forcing him and Beck to make her a deal. She’ll give them total commitment for eight weeks. If she still wants her freedom after that, they’ll let her go—for good.
After Beck’s reckless mistake implodes the fragile bond he and Seth share with Heavenly, he’s determined to prove they can give her both the adventure she seeks and the devotion she craves. So the men devise a game to break down her barriers and bind her in bliss. But when their dreams are within reach, a demon from Beck’s long-forgotten past returns, bent on revenge that might cost him his life.

The Chase picks up where The Choice left off, and if you thought that took you on a crazy ride wait until you read this story! Be prepared for a few shockers, I'm serious I can usually sniff out where a story is going but WOW they totally threw me with Beck's backstory...and the cliffhanger OMG I need THE COMMITMENT NOW!!!!
There is unequivocally no better writing trio than Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob, and Isabella LaPearl. These woman can spin a story that you cannot help getting lost in and before you know it you have come to the end..for now anyway. I really don't know how they write a story that flows so seamlessly you would swear it was written by one author not three but I guess that just attest to how great they are at their craft.
I am not spoiling anything here but I will let you know that there is a "road trip" in this book that was so much fun I may have to convince my husband to do something similar. *wink* *wink*
This is easy to recommend to anyone that loves BDSM Romance, Menage Romance, Erotic Romance. Please know that this series MUST be read in order and that this is book two.
The Chase picks up where The Choice left off. Beck and Seth have decided to work together to keep Heavenly in between both of them. First though, they have to help her through a horrible event in her personal life. After that is sort of over with, then Beck must deal with the fact that he kept a secret from her that he should have told her. That's the cliffhanger at the end of book 1. Before he can explain though, Heavenly escapes and runs with the help of her good friend, Raine. Anyone who has read the previous series will know who Raine is! LOL Heavenly is hurt, confused, angry and so emotional that she runs to the person Beck should have told her about. I could easily go on and on about this but I don't want to tell the whole story. If you've read The Choice, you HAVE to read The Chase. I loved how Beck and Seth had to fight their own feelings to let Heavenly discover for herself what she wanted out of life. They would still protect her but she would have the freedom to figure this out for herself. Don't get me wrong, they are still total Doms but they do have to ease off from her because she doesn't know very much about that lifestyle! Little by little, they are slowly winning her over until Becks past comes back to haunt him in a HUGE way! Who will survive? Can they protect Heavenly and all their friends from this past threat? And yes, there is another cliffhanger. I'll only say this.............I didn't throw the book but I did yell out, WTF? And now it's Seth's turn to come clean!!!! Oh my, I know it's going to be awhile until we get the next book but this is one series that I will happily wait for until we get it!!! These 3 authors have created such a wonderful book filled with a whole range of emotions that you don't want to skip this. Just get it!!!
The Chase by authors Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob and Isabella LaPearl picks up where book 1 "The Choice" ended. Beck and Seth have decided to work together to keep Heavenly together between both of them. First matter before them in front of them, they have to help Heavenly through a horrible event in her life. After that matter is handled, then Beck has to deal with the fact that he kept a huge secret from her that he should have told her about after he knew she waa the one. Book 2 deals with drama and matters of the heart. It also deals with skeletons from the past and how it can rear its ugly head when you least expect it to. Their relationship is tested...their journey together is tested and the love they have toward one another together is tested. Soul searching is involved along with moments of sweetness; there is also that sizzling chemistry, heat and feels. As always, there is that rollercoaster ride that will keep the reader on their toes. The plot, characters, swoon worthy feels and steam will have you craving more. I can't wait for book 3!!!
Loved the attention to detail and the genuine responses and reactions.
Am enjoying the world of Hammer, Rainer, Liam, Seth, Beck and Heavenly. It’s like Days of Our Lives with the dramatic story lines but I love the attentiveness of the men and the sweet strong nature of the women.
HELL YES! The moment I say this was about to release. I lost it. I loved Doms' of Her Life, and I loved The Choice (Book 1 of Heavenly Rising, a spin-off to Doms' of Her Life) So I was more than excited to see what these three had up their sleeve for Heavenly, Seth and Beck now, and as always they did not disappoint.
The Choice was amazing, and The Chase? That picks up where it left off. Beck and Seth have decided to come together and convince Heavenly to be with both of them. But Heavenly is dealing with the loss of someone she loves, so before they can do anything, they need to make sure she is taken care of. But things never come that easy for these three. Secrets have been kept by Beck, it's what we were left on at the end of The Choice, and Beck knows he needs to confess to Heavenly but before he even has a chance to explain himself, Heavenly is on the run, and find a safe place to hide with an old friend Raine, but the thing is,.... Raine is part of this big secret, Heavenly just doesn't know it yet. She's lost, she's confused, she is all over the place. She is unsure what the future holds... The only way she can work that out is if Beck and Seth step back and let her. But will they be able to? What is this big secret that Beck his holding on to? Will it make or break Beck and Heavenly?
So. Many. Questions. I got so many answers too, but with these answers came even more questions.
I'm trying to go spoiler-free, so I am going to leave it there... Jumping into The Chase was such a treat. I had missed these three authors working together.
We got to see more of the characters' past, and what they've been through, which paints a better outline of the plot and a little more understanding of why these characters are the way they are.
And as the twists and turns in this book continue to fall before me, we are thrown on to the cliff and left hanging there, ONCE AGAIN on a cliffhanger! GAH! But why am I surprised? This trio is known for their nail-biting cliffhangers and truth to be told, I love a good cliffhanger!
All in all, I cannot fault this book. It was a monster read and took me a couple of days but I LOVED THAT. I love a big book full of epic words and a plot so addictive, all-consuming, and intense that it devours me whole. I don't devour it, it devours me and this book did just that, and even a day after finishing this, I am still sitting here... Thinking about everything that just transpired in this book... That to me just shows me how amazing this read was, and how much I have been hanging for more, and I know for sure that this next wait till be killer, but so so so worth it!
Epic, brilliant, and pure perfection. I LOVED IT!
Bravo, Shayla, Jenna, and Isabella once again you have thrown me into a plot so thick with twists and turns I didn't see coming... And now I wait for book three! :D
This book is on a platform all on it's own. Once again these three authors come together in epic proportion. The story of Heavenly, Beck and Seth was introduced to us in Book 1 and now with Book 2 the reader is given more layers to work through. This time it is the skeletons in Beck's closet. Love is tested and drama unfolds. Not only is the relationship tested between the men and Heavenly but between the men as well. Is there enough room in the relationship to work through Beck's baggage? Will Heavenly decide her new found freedom is the way to spread her wings or will Beck and Seth be the catalyst to her HEA? This is not just your simple love story. It is everything the reader could ever want in the series and are left wanting more.
For most of this book things were predictable, yet I liked seeing how Heavenly, Beck and Seth were moving through their new relationship. They made choices that would help them build a strong foundation, one that had the chance to last. Even Heavenly not going to the guys for help towards the end looked like it was going to end in them all talking things out, until Beck's past came crashing in and had them all running for the hills with their crew to back them up. From here things got a bit crazy as Beck laid out his very unpleasant past and how they all dealt with things. Things were messy, but ended about the best they could. I find I'm intrigued by the bomb that Seth laid at the end. It will be interesting to see where things go from here for them all.
I was completely interested to know about Beck's background, as I will be once Seth's story is revealed in the next book. There are interesting character's here. Besides Beck, Seth, and Heavenly (and Liam, Raine, and Hammer), we also have River, Pike, Dean and now Zack (if he ends up sticking around).
I want to know the background of every single character.
The thing is I found myself rolling my eyes too much due to Heavenly's waffling and skipping the sex scenes. Also, for some reason Beck calling Heavenly "little girl" rubbed me the wrong way, and was even worse once I got his back story.
I would have never guessed in a million years that he came from where he came from. It boggles the mind how he became the amazing doctor he is. The sane person he is.
I love this sense of family I feel from this group of people, and I know that this is not a MMF, but the connection between Beck and Seth is so strong in such a short time, that if they had been together I wouldn't be surprised or opposed.
Now to wait for the next. I imagine that whatever is in Seth's past is going to be a doozy.
This is the 2nd book in the Doms of her Life: Heavenly Rising.
The Chase picks up where The Choice left off. Beck and Seth have decided to work together to keep Heavenly with them both.
But before that they first have to help her through losing her father and the mourning process and that isn’t going to be easy because she keeps everything bottled up inside her. Heavenly has lived her life having only to rely on herself and take care of her ailing father and now that he is gone she feels she has no direction in life. She doesn’t understand that Beck and Seth want and need to help her through all areas of her life and she doesn’t like feeling beholden to anyone. When most of this is over Beck’s past comes back threatening to take everything he loves and cares for and he has to come clean and explain to his closest friends. The family he came from and and who he was and what he escaped from when he was 16 years old. It’s just horrific. They rally around him and fight off these crazed people. Heavenly finally resolves her feelings tells both Beck and Seth how she feels. Just when everything seems right and all secrets between them are out in the open, Beck notices Seth seems to be holding back and there’s a secret he may be keeping. Beck and Heavenly tell him he needs to be up front and honest with them and use his own words he has been using on Heavenly about Trust or the relationship won’t survive. Seth finally says okay but seems to think that they will hate him and never look at him the same way again. They reassure him that will never happen and then Seth drops a bomb.
That’s where the book ends!!!
I was just stunned! My mouth dropped open and I couldn’t believe it!!
At the end of The Choice I screamed and threw the book across the room because of the cliffhanger! This one just left me speechless!! I can’t wait for The Commitment.
Sidenote: The first chapter broke me into so many pieces I didn’t know if I could take it but I persevered and as with all things by these amazing authors I was enthralled with each new chapter. I am a sucker for a love story especially if it has Shayla’s name on it because I know she is going for my heart and soul!
Go Buy This Book but read The Choice first or this book won’t make any sense! Happy Reading!!!

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the second book in the series, and you absolutely need to read The Choice first! It had been a while since I had read it, so I went back and indulged again, as I knew the experience would be all the richer - and it was. I am assuming you have too in my review.
At the very end of The Choice, Seth and Beck finally have Heavenly in their arms, and all three are willing to give the trio a chance - in no small part thanks to the interventions by Liam, Macen and Raine (another wonderful story, if you have missed out on it - get reading! (Doms of Her Life)). But as they chase to the hospital for her father, she discovers that Beck is seeking a divorce ... which clearly means he must be married!
However this is merely a blip on the horizon compared to where this story goes with Beck's past ... be prepared for the unexpected - and be ready for Seth also to have some secrets of his own, which will await us in the next installment.
As this engaging trio get to know each other better, they also have to try and navigate a course which enables Heavenly to honour her father, to continue with her career plans and come to terms with the kinks that her men have previously indulged. She may be innocent but she is not naive, and I found that to be an engaging characteristic - she wasn't disingenuous or coy, she was curious and open minded. Her shopping trips with Raine were fun, and educational!
There is a lot of fun and lightness in this book but it goes dark too, and as we wait for Heavenly to make her decision and say those three littles words, life gets serious and needs the full team to come to the rescue. Moving, frightening and unexpected, but it certainly coalesced her feelings.
The Chase (Doms of Her Life: Heavenly Rising #2) by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob & Isabella LaPearl 5 stars M/F/M Romance Triggers: death, cult I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Book 1 leaves you pondering what Heavenly is going to do. Book 2 starts exactly where book 1 stops.
Beck and Seth have decided that being enemies will not achieve their goal of having Heavenly. When Heavenly learns that Beck is married, she doesn't know what to think, but with her dad's health looming over her, she doesn't really have time to think about it.
Beck knows that he has to fix the problem, but with his past, something he never speaks about, he's not sure how to go about fixing the mess he's put them in.
Raine is one of Heavenly's only friends and agrees to help Heavenly on her quest to travel to Wisconsin. Back home to where she and her dad were the happiest. But, when planning to leave, Heavenly knows that she has a lot to think about and so she decides that she has to leave Seth and Beck behind for her journey.
Neither of her men are happy about her decision, but with the issues that have now been brought up, both know that they have to back off and let Heavenly decide on her own whether or not she can trust them. Also, Seth and Beck know that despite their own personal proclivities, they have to introduce Heavenly to their world gently and slowly, so that she can adjust and hopefully accept them for all they want from her. I love how gentle they are with her and how they aren't too afraid to show her who they truly are.
Finally, the final conflict in this book is where most of the action comes in. I thought that it was a very well thought out conflict and really enjoyed watching everything come together and work itself out. I am very much looking forward to seeing more of this family and hope more books are to come.
The Chase picks right up where The Choice left off...........a hot mess! Heavenly just found out after losing her virginity to Seth and Beck that Beck is still married and has filed for a divorce. She had no idea he was married. On top of that she's called to the hospital because her father is dying...now.
Beck and Seth have their hands full trying to fix the mess that they (mostly Beck) have created. They both have their share of secrets, but so did Heavenly. Will they be able to fix this mess? Will Beck get divorced and will Heavenly finally listen to Beck's reason for even being married? Great questions that all get answered in this story.
I really enjoyed most of this story. I had a hard time at the beginning and frankly skipped through when Heavenly's father was dying. I do not care for stories that are sad and usually stop reading the book at that point. But, I knew once I got past the horribly sad part, it was going to be quite the story. Although I loved Beck and Seth, I absolutely fell in love with Beck's wife/ex-wife Gloria! She was an awesome, sassy madam!! Worst part is there's a cliff hanger that the readers have to wait until 2020 or 2021!? I really dislike when authors do that.
* I was gifted this book in exchange for a honest review*
Heavenly, Beck and Seth continues on their road to happiness but it’s a long bumpy road and it’s not over in this book. I would call it a mix of HFN and cliffhanger. But these books are soooo worth waiting for *swoon*
In this second book we get to see how the relationship between them a developing. No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings Lots of good dialogues The scenes is good The love scenes is hot, hot, hot !!!! I love the characters and how they are so different but still in some ways they really fit together. There’s so much feelings in this book, just the first chapter had me crying. It’s a beautiful, sweet, emotional, sad, story with some action.
I can’t praise it more because that would be spoilers. If you haven’t read this series I recommend you start with Raine’s books, their all available now so go grab them. I promise you won’t regret.
After Beck’s secret is revealed Heavenly is devastated so she decides to put some physical space between her and her men so that she can get the clarity she needs. She heads home to deal with a tragedy but when Beck and Seth find out they are determined to help her so rather than competing with each other for her they decide that they all belong together.
As they slowly regain her trust and their relationship seems on solid footing we are faced with another twist that no one saw coming and we are left with an epic cliffhanger that leaves us wanting to know what the future has in store for Beck, Seth and Heavenly.
Great characters, surprises you don’t see coming, heat that radiates off the page and so much angst and emotion that will keep you entertained until the last page.
What!? No seriously - what the actual ....? How can you end a book this way?? Oh my gosh!! I am simply just blown away!! This, the second book in this series, is full of drama, suspense, and will have you on the edge of your seat needing to know what happens next!! I expected all the sex scenes in this book, what I didn’t expect was to be so drawn in by the family drama Beck brings into the relationship!! Beck, Seth an Heavenly make major strides in their relationship - bringing the trio closer then ever. When Becks past comes walking into their lives, it threatens everyones happiness. Can they survive the onslaught of danger? Will their love survive? Will anyone survive?? This is definitely a 5 star read!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow! Just wow! The Chase (Doms of her Life: Heavenly Rising #2) by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob and Isabella LaPearl is a totally sexy and exhilarating read. The three main characters, Heavenly Young, Dr. Kenneth "Beck" Beckman and Seth Cooper work through some overwhelming baggage from the death of Heavenly's father to Beck's past come blasting back into his life . We still don't know all of Seth's backstory though. We should find that out in the next installment, The Commitment. The sexy times are hot, hot, hot. The fun times make you smile and the serious times are super intense. This is a barnbuster page-turner. I loved it!
This was a very emotional book for me as I lost my father not too long ago. All of the emotions that Heavenly goes through I gelt them tenfoldand could relate to the not knowing how to move forward on that front. Kenneth attempted to tell her about the divorce but in her frame of mind Heavenly was not trying to comprehend nor understand what the words that were coming out his mouth. Poor Seth has secrets of his own and I am wondering how in the hell all of this all going to play out at the end of the day. No where on earth would I have ever guessed Gideon's background.

Heavenly, Beck and Seth are pulled through the wringer in this one. The highs are so high and the loss are gut wrenching! Heavenly's sorrow will tear your heart out. Then the ways her men put her back together are amazing and fun.
Then the other shoe drops. Beck must protect his family from his past. But their friends rally around them and all hell breaks loose.
If you want a straight up sweet romance, keep looking. But if you want a steamy ,throbbing, heartbreaking and yes, fun story, you must read this!
The Chase continues to follow the story of Heavenly, Beck and Seth. Heavenly chases life experiences hoping to not disappoint her father. Beck and Seth continue to pursue Heavenly giving her experiences and glimpses of their "kinks". Beck's backstory is revealed with a climactic end. OMG I can't wait for The Commitment! Anxious to see exactly what Seth's story is. Love, love, love how this trio of authors weaves together the passion and adventure.

Wow! Oh my gosh. This book is so good. The Chase is full of so many emotions. Don’t read the first chapter where you shouldn’t cry!! I had to force myself to turn off my kindle and go to sleep last night. Now I am finished, and all that I can say is wow, that was awesome!! The Chase has a lot smoking hot sexy scenes, all the feels, gripping suspense, and a happily ever after (almost). The ending is quite an insane bombshell. I don’t know how I can wait another year for the next book!!
4.5 stars wow wow wow this was seventeen legs up from the first long as hell and nothing happening book. Here we get spice and action and LOVE! I can’t say more because too much would spoil, but we get to learn about Becks past and it is not what I expected! Like holy roller coaster or action! The love also felt genuine and I’m all for this tripod. Though “little girl” nickname is still extremely cringe worthy especially knowing the past. Yikes yikes yikes that needs an edit.
Holy moley what a plot. And after listening to the first one for 11 plus hours and this one for 13 plus hours (thank you, hoopla), wouldn’t you know it ends in a cliffhanger?
Forget the book, the reader Christian Fox can come read me the phone book. He was the only reason I kept listening - apart from the hoopla borrow commitment - because the first several chapters were so dark and depressing.
I absolutely am loving this series! Heavenly goes through it & I love that she has Raine to lean on. Boss women need to stick together, after all. Seth & Beck continue to have me swooning about what I love is that they have enough respect for Heavenly to let her breathe. Makes me swoon even more. I can’t wait for the next book & in case you’re not sure, this book & series is a MUST-READ!!!
I really enjoyed this one. I'm so glad the boys are getting along and are actually care about each other. Although, I am getting kinda tired of Heavenly's naivety. Beck and Seth do it for me in this series, and of course I love Christian Fox he does a great job. Can't wait to find out about Seth's demons.
The thruple saga continues. Seth, and Beck set out to woo Heavenly. They need to show her how much she is loved and what she means to them. She needs time away from them to grieve. The sins of the past come back to haunt Beck. This book ends on a cliff hanger. Christian Fox narrates this book wonderfully.
Oh my gosh! The book begins with a huge "OOPS" and literally ends with this bombshell. I absolutely loved it. Cannot wait for the next book. Impressive collaboration between Shayla, Jenna and Isabella. Wonderfully entertaining.
I knew it would be a great book! But I didn't know it would be so much more! So many years and laughter and shareholding action. That's just how these three talented ladies roll! Now bring on The Commitment! I'm read!
Loved this one just as much as the original Doms of Her Life.. the storyline perfectly put together.. getting to know the characters and Beck, wow so much there we learned. Can’t wait for the next book.. I just hope that the wait isn’t to long! 🤓
