It was a job she hated that drove Sharon Sala to put the first page of paper in an old typewriter, but it was the love of the craft that kept her writing. Her first efforts at writing came in 1980 when she began a book that wound up under her bed. A second book followed in 1981 and suffered a similar fate, but she claims the writing bug had bitten hard. However, she let life and the demands of a growing family delay her from continuing until a tragedy struck.
Her father died in May of 1985 after a lingering illness, and then, only two months later, her only sister died unexpectedly. She vowed then and there that she was not going to wind up on her deathbed one day with regrets for not following through on her dreams.
She joined writers' groups and attended conferences, and she slowly learned her way around the written page. By 1989, she decided she had come far enough in her writing to attempt another try at book-length fiction and began a book that would later be entitled Sara's Angel. As fate would have it, the first publisher she sent it to bought it, and she hasn't looked back.
As a farmer's daughter, and then for many years a farmer's wife, Sharon escaped the drudgeries of life through the pages of books, and now, as a writer, she finds herself often living out her dreams. Interesting plot idea, but not original. Terrible writing and very flat characters. The poor delicate flower woman & the tough make hero who protects her while calling her "baby" and "honey" and vowing to make her his. Ugh.

Very hard book to put down because I wanted to know what would happen next.

Not part of a series, one of the 79 books I bought at the Barrie Flea Market last year.
I thought it was pretty good. Definitely different. I've only read one other book where the plot has to do with the mind and memories the way this one did. I thought Ginny was one hell of a woman to have to deal with what she had to deal with. And Sully was a great hero. I felt the attraction between them. The surroundings are well written, giving you a clear picture of what the character(s) is seeing. You also understand what they're feeling, their emotions clear on the page. I thought the plot had been a great idea.
The twist was enough to shock me... I really hadn't seen that one coming. I was betting my last dollar I knew who it was... and I was way wrong.
I'd read a few other reviews on this book, and I was disapointed with their reviews, not McCall's work. One guy said none of it made sense... I thought it did. Most fiction novels are exactly that - fiction. This guy's review was making it sound like the whole concept was way out of proportion. Hunh... wonder if he did his research before blabbing off at the mouth. If you happen to read the review I'm talking about (and I don't have to tell you who - you catch it before you're done reading it), you'll see what I mean.

Excellent book! I couldn't put it down once I started. It was one of those books that as I read, I had no idea what page number I was on because I was so into the story. That doesn't happen to me all that often.
After the first 2 chapters or so, I was a bit put off because the beginning is so depressing and gruesome (in mostly non-graphic way). I just wasn't expecting it to start that way.
Great overall storyline and romance though. A very engaging story. The antagonist wasn't exactly a surprise at the end, but there were a couple things at the end that were interesting and the plot was wrapped up nicely. I really enjoyed the more traditional romantic development of the story
I don't really have any major complaints. There were a couple things I could knitpick on, but nothing huge (which is why I'd give this book a 4.5 if we could give half stars).

3-1/2 stars. A solid read from Sharon Sala/Dinah McCall. The romance happened very quickly and the secondary crime seemed a bit like filler. The suspense plot was not as well developed as some of her books but better than others. All in all if you're a fan, you will enjoy it. At least the heroine wasn't a "homespun" naive virgin like in some of this author's books.

Ugh. I didn't know it was romance until halfway through. The writing should have tipped me off - I wrote like this when I was 18! The characters are naive and stupid, stereotypes sharing one common voice. I shouldn't have wasted an afternoon reading this....

One of my favorite books by Dinah McCall. This one really gripped me from page one. Someone is killing Ginny Shapiro's schoolmates and it looks like she could be next. FBI Sullivan "Sully" Dean is determined to find the killer before he strikes again.

McCall/Sala almost never disappoints. This was another one of her great "edge of your seat" romantic suspense books with likeable characters. I usually get through her books pretty quickly because I can't seem to put them down.

Na s. 365 Ginny dojde, že „nemá astma od té doby, co ji X ošklivé nemoci zbavil“. Hypnózou v šesti letech.
s. 163 Naproti tomu bývala často nemocná, dokonce trpěla i astmatickými záchvaty, které se však naštěstí postupem času zmírnily a v pubertě dokonce plně ustaly.
Takže jeho metoda zabrala za x let? Přesto „Ta radost sledovat, jak z tvých očí mizí strach, protože už víš, jak tu nemoc zastavit...“ (s. 365). (V šesti letech.)

Který na s. 21 nechala na podlaze u dveří ?

Dinah McCall/Sharon Sala is my favorite writer, so that’s why I chose to read this book but it was hard to read because it was about mind control and that is something that terrifies me. As with all of her books, she tells the story so well that you feel like you’re actually living it. I had to give it four stars, though simply because it was hard to get through. Seven girls, when they were six years old, had been put in a trance. Now they are grown and six of those girls have received a phone call and then afterward committed suicide. The seventh girl is on the run with an FBI agent who is trying to help her. I don’t want to use any spoilers because I know there are many people out there who would enjoy this type of story.

2.5 stars. The only reason I finished the book is because I'm so bored. The story itself is fine, interesting, even, but there's too much that bugs me to make me actually like the book. Rough language/imagery speckled throughout, moderate swearing, a pages long (easy-to-skip) sex scene, and the worst part? The stereotypical cheesy romance that is so far from reality it's laughable.

i have to be honest to say i have found another great author and her novels are amazing. I have to be honest to say she is just as good as Heather Graham. They start with a bang and keeps you on your toes with the excitement all along the reading. this novel is about a group of women killing themselves. these women start together in school while small children and attended a special class for special learning. now they are grown up and one by one are committing suicide. Before the last woman to die, she has put together why the deaths and sends all her information to the one and last woman of the group warning her to don't answer her phone.

Un insolito harlequin mondadori che inizia a tinte gialle. A metà – quasi – della trama si spennella di rosa e, anche se è il “mio” genere per eccellenza, questo mi infastidisce. L'autrice scrive bene, si legge senza problemi e l’intreccio è ben costruito, ma la caratteristica romance sembra far parte di un libro a sé. Durante il corso della lettura le ipotesi sul colpevole variano a più riprese e si intuisce chi sia il colpevole solo verso la fine. A tratti divertente per le scene fra i protagonisti, purtroppo manca di quel “qualcosa in più”.

Reasonable romantic suspense...entertaining enough to keep you reading to the end but nothing out of the ordinary.
For me, I felt it was a shame that the acknowledgement at the front of the book tells you how the murders were done before you've even started reading, It might have helped keep the "mystery" going a little bit longer if had been saved for the end - though it doesn't take a genius to work it out!

Twist and turns guaranteed!
This book's plot is complicated and interesting at the same time. It couldn't have been written better. The ending didn't have the usual Sala climax but still suspenseful

The whole story was very interesting and kept me turning pages. There was an twist at the end but it could really have been developed better, it was too quick and fell a bit flat for me. The love story was cute/corny but this would make a good movie.

Horribly written. Interesting plot line, but ultimately this is a romance novel. The writing switches from character to character with no line breaks or warning. This has nothing to do with a storm. I’m just overly confused.

A little predictable plot, not very innovative idea but very gripping and addictive. The characters were too typical, damsel in distress and guy saving her, the love angle seemed very forced. Only good thing about the book is that it’s fast paced.

Down right scary
I feel as if I read thus book before but it drew me in. I give every book 5 Chapters. If the story doesn't draw me in, I quit reading. This book was about hypnosis and the lives of seven women. Very intriguing and an enjoyable read.

I’ve read all her Sharon Sala books. I find the Dinah McCall ones a little harder to find but I enjoyed this one just as much.

The ending was a bit simplistic but also a realistic motive. The main character is too thirsty though, fell in love without seeing the heroine.

Really not interesting
I really love Dinah McCall and Sharon Sala but It was really hard to get interested in. Knew what was gonna happen. Kinda of boring.
