Paranormal Psychologist, Matilda Schmidt is sick of secrets. But when her troubled mother falls into dangerous hands, she must enlist the help of the two men who may be hiding the most: the hot-bodied demigod who's suddenly tight-lipped about his current client, and the delicious hit man who's been concealing much more than a gun in his pocket.

Faced with the destruction of her tidy life at the paws of three rowdy werebears, and protected only by an immortal egg on the edge, Matilda will have to come riding to her own rescue, or risk a life that's anything but happily ever after.

About the author

Cynthia St. Aubin

90 books698 followers
USA Today bestselling author Cynthia St. Aubin wrote her first play at age eight and made her brothers perform it for the admission price of gum wrappers. A steal, considering she provided the wrappers in advance. Though her early work debuted to mixed reviews, she never quite gave up on the writing thing, even while earning a mostly useless master's degree in art history and taking her turn as a cube monkey in the corporate warren.

Because the voices in her head kept talking to her, and they discourage drinking at work, she started writing instead. When she's not standing in front of the fridge eating cheese, she's hard at work figuring out which mythological, art historical, or paranormal friends to play with next. She lives in Colorado with the love of her life and three surly cats.

Unbearable by Cynthia St Aubin
The Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt Paranormal Psychologist series #4.
When Dr Matilda Schmidt gets a call about her kidnapped mother, she can’t take the time to wait for Liam the Hitman, or Crixus, the demigod. With little experience, she ends up being guarded by Billy, an immortal egg.
Three werebears show up at a restaurant and start eating people which Matilda handles with salt and water. Of course. They are looking for Goldilocks who seems to be keeping company with Crixus.
It’s just the beginning of this case file of Dr Matilda.

Laugh out loud antics and unsatisfied lust for Matilda. She’s the only one.
Think of it as a serial, or case file. It ends a bit abruptly but the next is ready to read and enjoy.

Can I give this book 1000000000000000 stars please?!

I have not laughed so much just by reading a single story as I have with ANY of Cynthia St.Aubin’s books. Whenever I feel down I grab one of them and read it, and this newest one? Unbearable?! Oh yeah! I cannot “bear” to put it down! I got this from Cynthia as an ARC for review and I’ve read it twice. TWICE!!!! It was so good I couldn’t put it down once I finished the first go round.

What do I love about it? Why, EVERYTHING! The tension between Matilda and Crixus and between Matilda and Liam? SCORCHING!!! It seems like just when she’s about to cave to one or the other, something extremely funny happens to bring them to a screeching halt and leaves the tension so tight it’s gone beyond knife cutting and right into Nuclear bomb mode!

All of her books have a GREAT plot and story line, traveling rapidly between scenes. The characters reach out, grab your shirt, and drag you long the hilarious ride whether or not you’re willing! I love these books and this one? Yeah it’s now my favorite! I can’t wait to see what she does next!!!

Oh, dear Matilda! If St. Aubin keeps it up, will no childhood story remain untainted? I hope she does because this one really cracked me up. Her use of language (impromptu no-pants bone-dance!? a good collie shangle!?) and her incredible take on mythological characters keep me coming back for more. I wish for more depth and detail sometimes, and her writing style can confuse me a bit, like how she enters a scene and you feel like you should have more information... But those things just keep me hooked until the uproarious end! I mean really? This installment is Grade A goodness ! Our dear doctor needs some serious therapy, however. And a cold shower... Or seven. Overall, I rate this as eggcellent, a right good scramble, and at it's yolk, a wonderful love triangle that leaves the reader steamed!

This is the fourth book in this series and I loved it just as much as the others. In this book Matilda's mother has been taken by the person blackmailing her. Crixus and Liam are doing what they can to help find her but they haven't come up with anything yet. They still don't know who is blackmailing her or who has her mother. Matilda's relationship with both Crixus and Liam is confusing. She is still attracted to both of them but is frustrated and annoyed with both of them at the same time. It's hard to believe they both dropped into her life just a couple months ago. In this book she is introduced to yet more of the supernatural world. This time the three bears are after her. Crixus leaves humpty dumpty with her for protection and you won't believe the story behind him. Matilda is having a bit of a jealousy issue with Crixus at the moment cause she believes he is off boning Goldy Locks. Goldy Locks has her own interesting story in this book. What will Matilda do about her feeling for the boys? Will they be able to find and get her mother back? I love how Cynthia combines the paranormal with comedy and some steamy aspects. It all flows together wonderfully and nothing seems out of place. It has just the right amount of each. Matilda grows with each books and is coming out her self imposed shell. Also Crixus is changing with each book. He has been alive for a long time and has fallen into a pattern. But, I think meeting Matilda has changed something for him. Maybe made him actually care about someone beyond one lay. Then you have Liam the hitman. I also think he cares for Matilda in his own way. I can't wait for the next book in this series as always. Another fantastic book Cynthia.

I was given this book in return for an honest review.

If you have a werebear problem just add water. Oh and maybe an enlightened egg too. Matilda's mother is in a bit of difficulty in this story, and Matilda needs the help of both Liam and Crixus to help her out.
She was not expecting to get yet another paranormal creature dropped off to try and help with therapy, but that is just what hse gets in the form of Billy a truly ancient egg. As the hilarity ensues with the bears trying to get he good doctor to use as bait for a trade, Matilda decides to try her hand at doing Liam's style of work. In the end she sees that it is best left to the man that knows what he is doing.
She also finds herself in a position to be super jealous of a situation she thinks Crixus has gotten himself into. We learn about his past a little, which I really liked! In the end Matilda's mother is safe for now any way, but leaves her with a chilling message.
The laughs in this book do not disappoint at all, it is everything that I expect from Cynthia now when I pick up one of her books to attack it with my lookers!
I cannot wait for book 5 Unassailable, and neither can my lookers! Thank you for yet another awesome read Cynthia!

Given To Me For An Honest Review

Unbearable: The Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist #4 by Cynthia Aubin is such a must read is unbelievable. In this book, Matilda's mother is kidnapped. She is now dealing with a PTSD egg Humpty Dumpty. She is also being hunted by the three bears because they think she can lead them to Goldilocks. Also showing up again is hitman Liam and Demi-god Crixus. They are here to help Matilda search for her mother. Once you begin reading you are grabbed and pulled along through a hilarious, crazy ride. There are twists and turns. You will become a page turner, only to stop when you get to the end of the book. This book will not only keep a smile on your face but it will have you laughing. I gave this book 5 stars but it truly deserves many more. I enjoyed reading it very much. I highly recommend it to all. I look forward to seeing more from

Unbearable picks up about a week after the previous book ends. Matilda has some things to worry about now. Like her mother being kidnapped, and the two men she seems to be drawn to the hit-man, and the demigod are suddenly trying to keep things from her. Things she's not sure she will ever come to find out.. Not only that but Matilda has a whole lot of other things to deal with, mainly her mother.

This one was really good, but the resolving of the main issue seemed a little abrupt. It was sort of annoying, in the previous books the issue would be resolved, but in this one it just happened so fast it didn't seem likely. But this one did deal with a lot of other issues, mainly the ones with the hit-man and the demigod. However, we still do not know what the demigod is hiding from her, or why he keeps coming around so much. Now I must wait for the next book to come out to see what happens next. I really hope the next one reveals what the secret is I'm dying to know!

Thank you to WanderLust Book Tours for providing me with an ARC.

This is a fun book. You must love a certain level of bizarre to thoroughly enjoy this and I'm glad I do. This is the first book I read under the The Case Files of Matilda Schmidt. There were times that I felt sort of lost since I haven't read the first three, but it didn't make me want to stop reading. If anything, I want to get the first three so I can finally catch up. I like that it's a fast read. Crixus and Liam are two swoon worthy characters. Flawed and hot. My kinda guy. Matilda on the other hand is smart, funny and can hold her own in an argument. Over all it's a crazy mix of characters that will surely make for an afternoon well spent. In my case, it's an office day well spent.

**Note: I love Goldy Locks.

wow another awesome read from Cynthia St.Aubin, this book really deserves more than 5 stars.

Having dealt with Cupid, the Easter Bunny and a crazy Leaprechan Melinda is now left to contend with A PSTD affected egg aka Humpty Dumpty as well as been hunted by the three bear because they think she can lead them to Goldilocks. Your favourite hit man Liam and resident Demi-god in Melinda's life make an appearance also to help her track down her kidnapped mother.

A funny, well written book that I couldn't put down and devoured in one sitting.

Just wish I didn't have to wait until September for the next book from the amazing writer

For the love of all things Cheese! Cynthia's Unbearable will have you falling off of whatever comfortable surface it is you get swallowed up on while reading this hilariously charming tale. Between a brooding hitman, a very sexy demigod and a snarky sassy psychologist, whats not to love, Oh and lets not forget the bears, oh my!! Of course on the other end of the spectrum is equal parts steamy in a way that only Cynthia could describe. Her use of wording in this book will not only have you swooning but snorting as well. If ever there was a read to bring about all things fantastical, this is it!! Kudos to Miss. Cynthia, it was an Eggcellent read!!

This is a funny, sexy, series following Dr. Matilda Schmidt. This time she has three bears looking to grab her. She has to find her mother who was kidnapped. Crixus is as sexy as ever and Liam has a hold of the doctor in a way she never would of dreamed of. The three bears are so dang funny and they had me laughing out loud. If I need a laugh St. Aubin is the author I go to. I can read and reread her books over and over and be in tears with laughter the whole time!! I can't wait to find out what happens to Matilda next.

When bears are out to get Matilda, Crixus shows up just in time to help and leave another needy client into Matilda's lap to 'fix'. However, between the bears, the damsel, the egg, the blackmailer, the hit man (hot!), and the demi-god (also hot!), will she be able to keep her mind straight and her clothes on? Funny and Frustrating!

Just when you think it can't get any better, Cynthia St. Aubin proves you wrong. Why must she torture us so?! I am so vexed over the situation with Crixus and Matilda! Why? You'll just have to read it for yourself! You won't be sorry you did!

I get super excited whenever I know another book in the series comes out, because I know I will be in for a treat. There will be plenty of action, sexual tension and laugh out loud moments, I have a really hard time putting the book down once I get started. You never know what challenges our good Doctor faces but I know for sure it will be fun and I was not disappointed, Cynthia St Aubin delivered again. You really need to read this series, I can't wait until the next book comes out.

Matilda is being blackmailed and her mother is kidnapped while she is trying to deal with Goldilocks, the three werebears, and her jealousy. Liam and Cricux aren't helping with their jealousy either. Rolly is involved and Matilda definitely goes above and beyond what any woman should have to go.

Fun! Now I need to get the next books in the series because I want to know what happens.

"Unbearable" by Cynthia St. Aubin is book four in "The Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist" series. This book picked right up where book three left off. Whoever is blackmailing Matilda is using her mom as a way to get to Matilda. This book was a real quick read and got me needing to move on to the next. Cynthia does a great job with writing in the three bears, goldilocks, and an egg. Matilda feels like Crixus is keeping stuff from her. But he is doing it for her safety. One of my favorite scenes in this book is when Matilda heads to where Crixus is to see who this Goldilocks is.

This series just gets better and better. I am always surprised at the fairly tale/myth/nursery rhyme that ends up as part of the story. This one was bear-y good or is that juuuust right with a side of the Egg that came first! Don’t ask…. Just read it. You are in for lots of laughs!
