This is real RH book! Yass!! all of you who love revers harem books that have some depth, plot, world building and not just sex ,need to read this asap!
What can I say, this book is so complex that I m at loss of words. Basically it goes like this: Hannah is sentenced to level 4 prison planet Narkos. On the shipment there she makes a connection with another prisoner. At the arrival things don't go as they should be, meaning: she is suppose to choose 4 men and become a unit ( since lack of woman forced each family to be formed by 3/4 men + 1 woman on normal circumstances), but instead of being able to choose and spend time to know the men she ll choose to form this unit with , she is auctioned by the prison manager ( the villain) to a sea of thousands of man that lacked woman touch for years. The worst of the worst get her, but one man decides to challenge and to save her. Things get out f hand and she has to pick another 3 men to form their unit. And so it begins.
The men: Ky'Li : the force of the group, military background, fierce protectiveness, tender thought with her.He is from another planet and there a man does't share a woman, so his acceptance of the situation is something swoon worthy.
Ren: the engineer, he is wicked smart, blunt ,but oh so angry and hateful because he was chosen to be part of this unit against his will.
Vaughn:the doctor, calm, commanded respect from each of the others, caring, but also very broken
Sersie: botanist/chemist,playful,full of heart, sweet but battling addiction.
And Hannah: she is brave, sweet and innocent, she needed them to center her, help her put life into perspective when she got too trapped by her emotions to think clearly. She wanted to unite all of them and form a family, to make them care for eachother.
The world building is phenomenal. The plot super engaging and keeping you on the edge of your seat, rooting for the characters , suffering , crying, laughing with them. What I love about this book is how different all the guys are. Have no idea if I ll ever be able to choose just one.Nope, no way I could! Each one of them is spectacular in his own way, bringing so much to the group. The sex hasn't taken over the story , but we have steamy scenes as well. But its more about how they learn to coexist as a unit, in the same house, to get to know and accept eachother and to keep the bastards that want them harm at bay.
Its no way this book cannot hold your attention, and I am very surprise that its not a known book. To bad! I hope my friends here will give it a try. Now Im off getting to the second book. So excited!
Wow wow wow. A RH with all of the men having personalities? Sign me up!!! It's really late at night cus I couldn't put this book down and now I need to sleep. My one issue with this book was that they didn't properly work together, which I hope they'll start to do in the next one. I could easily see them taking the whole system down just by combining their awesomeness.
Edit: Time for a non-middle-of-the-night sleep-deprived review
Okay let me start off by saying, this book only has 58 ratings??? D: It's way too good for that! I don't know why this isn't more popular.
So anyway. I love love love the whole prison planet dynamic, it's one of my favourite scenarios. Making it RH is even better. And all the heroes except Ky'Li are nerds, which is EVEN BETTER. (I'm married to a mechanical Engineer although he is nothing like Ren ;) More like a mix of Vaughn and Sersie). And they're TRUE nerds, not alpha idiots with a nerd label taped to their foreheads. I love it!!!
Things I loved about this book: - the RH is explored delicately. The heroes are reluctant, the heroine is naive but tries her best, and there are shifting dynamics. - Each hero has a distinct personality, has his personal goals and things that drive him, and they're all honourable and likeable. - Prison planet. That is all. - World building.
Things I did not like about this book: - Hmmm... what's up with the heroine "unlocking" the guys' secrets during sex? And Ren and Vaughn were both basically assaulting her? I was able to overlook it because I was interested in what the guys were thinking, but it was just... strange. I can't even get whole sentences out of my husband before sex, so I'm not sure really how this is supposed to work. - The heroine is a bit of a flat character compared to the heroes. I have even forgotten her name. But I have remembered all the guys' names. That's saying A LOT about how likeable the guys are btw. - World building is sometimes very confusing. For example, the sister was on Flight. Not knowing what "Flight" was, I just assumed it meant she became a pilot. It wasn't until many chapters later that I connected the dots. - Many times Vaughn and Ren stated out loud that they knew the heroine hadn't chosen them because of their looks or character but because of what they could do for her. Does the heroine at least try to reassure them? Nope. She's just... mute? Stares at them in silence? I don't even know, the author just glosses over what happens next. I also can't relate to that at all. And I would think it's out of the heroine's character, since she's a bit of a people pleaser.
So...I was initially intrigued by the premise - most sci-fi prison stories are never quite as raw and dark in setting as I personally feel they should be and this one felt heaps darker than most right off the bat, which I loved - however, I was very quickly put off by the TSTL heroine.
What the author was thinking by writing her heroine this way I will never understand. Hannah is quite simply an idiot. Her unfaltering naivety - despite almost being sexually assaulted by fellow prisoners twice in the same day - comes across as being sorely lacking in any self-preservation instincts.
She doesn't seem to understand that she's in a prison with aggressive, mostly male criminals, and not on some kinky holiday with a bunch of potential partners. For example, she starts off by calling the men in her unit her 'mates', her 'husbands' and saying that they're all a 'family', despite them repeatedly telling her that they're not anything close to being a family, or even friends, and then treating her like she's little more than a walking, talking p***y. I didn't understand why she was so fixated on creating a 'family dynamic' straight off the bat when that would be hard enough to achieve with regular, non-criminal men let alone the maniacs she'd chosen. Unless, of course, her mind had actually snapped and she was in denial - which would actually have been quite interesting to read her from that point of view - but it doesn't seem as though the author intended her to be written that way.
All the same, I can put up with reading about a TSTL heroine if the man or men in her life are decent. Which, sadly, was not the case in this novel. I hated the men in this book even more than the heroine. There was just nothing appealing about them. The one guy who at first seemed sweet because he tried to save her, later came across as just another controlling bastard who wanted sole claim to the only available p***y around.
The last straw for me was when one of the men in her unit - one of her supposed 'husbands' - tries to rape her.
Look. I've read dub-con before. I know that some authors can even write non-con scenes and still make the hero come off as likeable later on or redeem him somehow (Cohen actually pulls this off with another group of husbands in Prison World book 3, which is a much better story IMO), however, this was not one of those instances.
An excerpt of the content I disliked so much: Ren dragged her by her wrist to his room and flung the door open. He pulled the top of her dress down far enough to expose the creamy flesh he’d seen at auction, the sight that had excited him as it had all the other men. He hated how weak and desperate he was to feel a woman’s body against him after so long, but he wanted her. And now she was legally his. “Please don’t hurt me,” she asked. All color drained from her face, and she started shaking. Ren ignored the twinge of guilt. She knew what was expected of her. He wasn’t falling for her helpless routine. He ran his hand over the one breast, dipping his fingers into the lacy bra. God, she felt so fucking good. “Look at me, 475.” “The name’s Hannah,” she said, swiping at unshed tears. No, no names. She’d dragged him into this. He owed her nothing. His only obligation as her unit mate was to keep her alive, nothing more. “You’re the reason there’s a unit 475. You don’t get to have a name, not around here. Let’s go, 475. Strip and spread ‘em. Time to fulfil your quota.”
Nope. Nope. Nope. No way. This is where I draw the line. This man is not redeemable. He sees her tears, her fear and he still does it anyway. There's no ambiguity here. It's just cold, callous rape. It literally sickened me reading it.
Sexual assault committed towards the heroine by one of her love interests is a hard sell by any standards, but what's worse is the way the heroine tries to blow it off afterwards.
For example, the heroine thinks this, after the attempted rape:
"He had scared her earlier, but that was his anger talking."
And then:
"but this wasn’t the same angry man from earlier, the one who had wanted to punish her through sex."
Punish through sex is an interesting euphemism for RAPE.
Ugh. Maybe I'm too sensitive. Maybe. But I still feel that the author should have done a better job of (a) indicating that this is a dub/non-con story with a rapist as one of her romantic partners rather than merely 'dark romance', whatever the hell that means, or (b) presenting the aforementioned hero as being worthy of redemption or forgiveness from the heroine. I skipped ahead to see how their relationship progressed and I can't help but feel that the heroine is living some delusional lie that these men love her at all. I just didn't buy it.
I should say though that Cohen is an incredible writer so I do intend to read more work from her. Book 3 in this series was epic but this first offering just wasn't for me.
I had a really hard time liking Hannah. She was so naive and presumptuous. I just couldn't understand her obsession with making the unit come together as a family. Or why she thought only she could bring them together. These guys have been surviving the harsh prison planet for years and have known each other for years. She's only just arrived and knows nothing about surviving the place. So even though the guys don't want to be in a unit they are capable of figuring out how to make it work without being like a family or even friends. This is a prison planet not some residential family area with friendly neighbors. To me she was the one messing up the flow trying to force things, being all flighty, and making assumptions.
The guys were all assholes. But that was to be expected given their individual pasts and current situations. These are broken men. So I couldn't be all surprised about their occasionally terrible behavior toward her. At least they made the effort to treat her better. But yet again I couldn't understand Hannah's reactions when they would disrespect her verbally or physically. She would either demand respect or make excuses and submit to their bad behavior saying she was theirs to do whatever with. Even when they were nice to her she would still say the same thing. That they only cared about sleeping with her. If your putting yourself in the position of property then why even bother to demand the respect? If they are treating you with respect why ruin it by demeaning yourself as a response? They haven't even treated her like property but she kept bringing it up. I kept wondering if she was trying to make them treat her like an object by reiterating that they own her? They already know that. They could've taken what they wanted from her from day one but they didn't. She should consider herself lucky on that.
This was rough for me to get through. Even though the concept really appealed to me. To make matters worse it ends on a cliffhanger. I absolutely hate cliffhangers and usually avoid them but I clearly slipped up and didn't research before reading. I'm not sure if I care about the characters enough to even bother with the next book. I kind of do want to see what happens but not sure I want to deal with Hannah's delusional thought processes and behaviors toward her situation. On second thought nope I will not be reading the next book. But I will still give this author a chance by reading something else of theirs. Maybe I happened to read a (to me) dud.
By accident I came across from this book. Honestly, I am shocked, because holy motherducking hell, this book was EPIC!
So unique storyline, at least for me. I honestly haven't read anything like that. I don't understand why this book is not making waves? This is so well written, world building is top notch perfecto. Relationship building is slow which I liked very much, never a boring moment there.
Hannah is sentenced to a prison world, planet called Narcos where mostly level 4 convicts are. Some level 5 are shipped to Narcos who has any value and because she's a woman...
She comes from a planet where multiple men are in relationship with one woman aka family unit. This is totally acceptable and normal, as some plague has killed off most women.
As it's normal for a female to choose her partners, well things are very different in Narcos. She finds herself in a really bad situation.
I don't want to reveal too much, but as she got to choose 4 men, well they didn't get along at all because all of them are loners and for a clear reason . I felt bit bad for Ky. He was one brute of a man from a planet where men didn't share their women. His struggles were real, as for him one man and woman were meant to be. How Sersie, Vaughn, Ren and Ky had to overcome their animosity towards each other and find a way to work as a unit. Honestly, it was well written and it hooked me in, as it felt very organic how their relationship steadily but extremely slowly started to form.
I honestly didn't know what to wait diving into this book. I guess, because it's reverse harem, I was waiting a gang bang. But! It's had awesome storyline and how they all started to come together. Hannah really did a miracle there.
Most of the time I find a guy who is my favorite but hell, it's hard here. All of them are so different and they bring a different angle into this relationship.
I did not much like this read. At first I thought it would be hot, but the story ended up being super repetitive and boring. No mfm action, just angst day in and out, wash and repeat. Then to insult to injury, it ended in a to be continued!
Our heroine is sentenced to a prison planet where she is auctioned off. But she fights from the start to make the best of this bad situation. Can she win over the reluctant caretakers and get them to work together?
This is book one of the series, so no question about where to start.
I found the story to be well written and easy to read. The setting is well detailed, grim and gritty as befits a prison planet. Our characters are also well detailed with unique personalities and unique flaws (lots of flaws!), which is again appropriate for the setting. I wasn't entirely sure what I was going to think of this story, but I found I was drawn in and always curious to see what came next. I particularly liked our heroine and her continuous fight to survive and make things better. And along the way we get plenty of steam. Overall, an engaging and enjoyable story. I am definitely looking forward to the next book.
Highly recommended.

This book was so different to what most of the other reverse harem books that I’ve read but I really enjoyed it.
The men in Hannah’s harem don’t like each other and certainly don’t want to share her, causing a lot of conflict in the book. Each of the men are so different but yet they are similar in that they have been broken by their past and are trying to be as human as they can be given that they’re on a prison planet.
Hannah is such a strong character, not physically but mentally and emotionally. She is thrust into this horrendous situation and while she’s terrified, she refuses to break down and let that fear control her. She also wants to get to know each of the men she’s put with and also to let them know that she is not a possession and they don’t own her. Hannah is prepared to accept her situation, but will do it on her terms.
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series to find out how everything unfolds

She is going to a planet that houses level four and five convicts. When she gets there, she does not get to choose her unit they are auctioning her off~ she met another prisoner on the ship over, a grey eyed man who she gave water too. Some very harsh men won her, she challenged the leader, and the grey eyed man stepped forward to challenge him for her! His name is Ky’Li. He is her first mate~ Next, she chooses a doctor, an engineer, and someone who works in botany and chemistry. They all want her for themselves, but it cannot be that way. They all fall her and her them. They become a unit finally~ They will protect her from the other men and whatever may come their way. She has inhaled one of the lethal drugs made and is now fighting for her life. Her mates will do anything to keep her alive and well. Now, that she has somewhat recovered, she will find a way to get all of them off the planet and back to their homes~ Can she do it? We will find out in the next book~ I received this via Booksprout and am leaving a voluntary review.
*Spoiler Alert* Hannah (FMC) is a convict that has been sentenced and sent to Narkos Prison Colony (I didnt notice what she had done to be sent there though?). A colony that is jam-packed with men and very little women. So when she arrives shes instantly auctioned off into a unit of men. Ones she chooses herself - Ky'Li, Vaughn, Sersie and Ren. Arguments, Fights, distrust all happen throughout as they try to make their unit work especially with Hannah in constant danger from other men. With the 5 of them together they have a great dynamic, each with their own secrets, vulnerabilities and difficulties. I loved how Hannah tried her best to pacify and understand all the guys even when they were making it difficult for her. Plenty of steamy moments and flaming hell that ending quite a cliffhanger. Just Great!!
Auctioned to the Convicts: An amazing action packed steamy hot romance.
Hannah is punished for trying to save her sister’s life and markt as level 5, which is one level from death. She is sentenced to Narkos a planet that houses level four and five convicts. I enjoyed reading this book, the interaction and chemistry between the characters was AWESOME AND AMAZING! The story line is entertaining and pulls at your heart. It was well written and developed and I Loved Hannah and her four men. They need to become a family unit and in the process become better men with Hannah's help. They each have their own flaws but want to keep Hannah safe from the other convicts where she is auctioned. There are so many emotions and realistic moments you can feel and empathize with these characters. A must read for fans of Julie K. Cohen especially if you like plenty of hot steamy sizzling moments!!!

I hated that the book ended! I started reading this book and just couldn't put it down, then next thing I know cliffhanger!! Ugh... But it if definitely worth the read. Hannah, is deemed a lvl 5 and doomed to forever be stuck on a HORRID planet where woman are hard to come by and the guards are worse in some aspects than the prisoners themselves. Hannah is placed for auction to the highest bidder and when a savage of a man wins her she would rather die then become a part of his unit. She challenges him and sets forth the beautiful opening for Ky to step forward and be the protector he is. My wins but not without being severely hurt in the process Hannah must then choose 3 other men to become a family unit. Each has their owns flaws and reason on why they were solitary, but with the help of Hannah they may have a chance of becoming better men. There are so many emotions in this story, it will be tugging at your heart strings the entire time.
I received this book as an ARC and am leaving my honest opinion
This novel was cleanly written and edited, with few typos. The story was gripping and exciting, and I was definitely rooting for the heroine and her four romantic heroes! This is part one in a two part duo logy with these characters. Thankfully, this first novel does not really end on a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus. I am very excited to read book two and get these wonderful characters' Happy Ever After ending. The world building in this novel was excellent, drawn deftly with a subtle hand. The characterization was top-notch, with each of the protagonists being well drawn, distinct individuals. That is not an easy task for an author writing a reverse harem romance. The development of the romantic relationships between the heroine and each of her heroes was organic and believable, with me able to watch them going through the process of falling in love. This romance uses the Woman Shortage trope, which is a variation of the Mars Needs Women trope, only without any aliens. I recommend this romance to readers who enjoy that trope and reverse harem sci-fi novels. I am eagerly anticipating the next novel, which will wrap up these characters' romance.

A love story in the making. Hannah is sent to a planet where she will be forced into a unit with four other men. Men who could kill her, rape her, do anything they want with her. But she is fortunate enough to be able to choose her unit and she chooses men who seem to have redeeming qualities. But other than Ky’li, the others have always been loners on the planet, doing their jobs and wanting off after their ten years of service. They don’t want to be in a unit and are angry at first fight and with each other and her. But as her caring and love bring them together as a “family”, she is targeted by Dresden, the man who runs the colony, and by other convicts. They guys need to keep her safe but she has been warned that Dresden can send any of them away to the worst colony there is. The Company has tricked and used people to get what they want, and none of them will ever be able to just serve their ten years and go back to civilization. Now they must take down the Company before their new fragile family is destroyed and they are killed. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
This is truly a fantastic read, I could not put it down. 3 broken men, 1 stubborn warrior and a kind, loving but very strong MC all trying to survive terrible conditions forced upon them all on a prison planet. Couple that with drugs, corporate intrigue, and individual agendas and this is one hell of a story. There are a few triggers though.... Drug use, unclear consent, rape is mentioned a lot but is never described, possible ptsd.... If you are OK with these then Holy hell get reading - it's a great book and I have already pre-ordered the next one!
"An Amazing Sfi fi Reverse Harem Romance series" This is a five star plus story! The characters are unique and Awesome. Hanna is a spunky young woman. After trying to save her sisters life. Hanna finds herself being sent to a prison planet. There she finds herself being auctioned off. When she was in transport Hanna was attracted to a fellow convict Ky'li a soldier. She is surprised when he comes to get rescue. When she accepts him they are told she must pick three other men. As the rules on the planet say they must form a unit of five. She chooses three other men Ren a engineer, Vaughn a doctor, and Sersie a botanist plus Chemist. They are forced into the unit! Ky'li is not happy about sharing her. Can Hanna help make their unit work? You will love this super exciting, funny, thrilling, suspenseful and scorching hot reverse harem.
A very well written book about Hannah who is imprisoned on the planet Narkos by The Company. Narkos, penal planet has the harshest and deadliness convicts so when Hannah arrived she was auction and Griggs won the bid but she challenged Griggs and Ky'Li volunteered to fight in her stead and won but then by the rules they had to choose a unit or Hannah will be given back to Griggs unit. The unit Hannah chose was Ky'Li. Vaughn, Renzel and Sersie. The guys are well defined into different personalities; Ky'Li the soldier who was betrayed by his previous unit, Vaughn the doctor who is illegally healing the convicts, Renzel the engineer who saving his credits to leave the planet and Sersie the scientist who is fighting a drug habit. Hannah is drawn to each guy but will their personalities and their breaking rules tear them apart? Can they work together as a unit? This is the first part of the story so it leaves it open at the end of what will happen to her unit. I enjoyed reading and reviewing this reverse harem ARC via bookspout.
Hannah is transported to a Level 4 prison planet. She is a level 5 and is when she gets there, is set up to be auctioned to the men there. She challenges the rules and KyLi fights for her. Then she has to pick three other males to be in her unit. This book is about taking four men who don't want to share her or the other things. Hannah becomes the glue for all of them. There is a lot of action in this book and I loved reading Hannah's story. I can't wait to read the next one. Thank you. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
I enjoyed this story, very addictive once you get into it. Set in a world where a Company rules, and people are nothing but a commodity, and infringements to the law land you on a prison planet with no hope of leaving, this is the story of 5 strangers brought together by circumstance. Each has to learn to adjust to being in a unit, and finally understand that the unit has now become their family. Ends with a cliffhanger, so you will need to continue story in book two for a hea.
Hannah, SERSIE, KY’LI,Raines ,Renzel Each man wants her. They refuse to share. Her survival depends on uniting her four men, Things get very interesting. During the auction and after. This was very intriguing tantalizing Brutally exciting book the lies the deceit the sizzling scenes Rounded out to be a perfect a gem.* *

This book is a darker, steamier read. The main characters in this book are each written having flaws that are very realistic and you can empathize with, and that they and the others in their “unit” have to deal with and overcome in order to stay together and survive. But each still maintains a redeeming quality that keeps you reading on and cheering on Hannah and her men hoping for a happy ending. This book isn’t for anyone easily put off by the idea of a reverse harem that deals with the idea of being one of very few women on a prison planet and needing protection from other violent convicts. The characters are well written and you learn what caused each one to fall from grace and their struggle to maintain their humanity in the face of unfair treatment by the Company and their Managers on the planet. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

The author has given us characters that pull at our heartstrings. Hannah is auctioned to four men that need to become a family unit. These men are convicts and they do not want to share Hannah, but they are a unit. Can they deal with being a unit and survive? I really enjoyed this read from start to end.

This is the first kind of book I have read in the genre. It is a reverse harem which I love. In this book all if the characters are on a prison planet. I absolutely loved hannah, she always puts everyone first before herself. I love how different the 4 men are in this book. The author does a great job in showing her unique relationship with each of the men. This book also had some hot steamy scenes, would definitely read this book again!
Captivating Reverse Harem Prison Story! The first in a new series. Awesome characters and steamy scenes! Hannah was wrongly accused and convicted and sent to a harsh planet with dangerous convicts. She is forced to choose a unit of 4 men along with herself. It is her goal to get the 4 men she chose to work together to build a family, not just a unit. Lots of conflict with the personalities of each men and how Hannah builds a relationship with each men.
I will begin by saying you need to read this book carefully. There are a lot of details, science stuff, dynamics and back stories. There is a lot of information that needs to be absorbed. Hannah is convicted of a crime and she is taken to a planet that has very few women so she must take four men. They must make a unit. She chooses, but these men don't like each other and don't want to share her. It does end on a cliff, but the second book is out already. The book needs some minor editing, mostly missing quotation marks.
