A passion to stand ignites in the hearts of the Alburnium people....

The time has come to band together and stop the evil ruler from taking over Denovo and Wilderland, but the friends of Aloblase are still scattered across the land. Sacrifices will need to be made and promises broken if they hope to keep the cities intact.

Alyra and Tarek’s patience wears thin with the lost remnant of Curians hidden in the mountains of Tarest. Locked away in the dungeons, Tarek is ready to bring the mountain down on the stubborn Wisdom Keepers while Alyra hopes to reach a peaceful solution. However, the suspicious Curians have their own way of dealing with trespassers.

Lotari and Stitch struggle with the choice to wait for Darnel to make the first move or attack head-on before the evil lord's forces reach the borders of Wilderland.

Jerin and Katrina work to fortify the borders of the ancient Halls of Knowledge. Hope that the Curians might soon return are hindered when Racah’s supporters threaten all they’ve worked hard to build in the city of Denovo.

These characters have completely stolen my heart and I’m not one bit sorry about it.

This book is very much a bridge book to the final confrontation and despite how long it took me to read it (out of state family visits are fun but not helpful for reading great books quickly, haha) I loved every second and watching these characters grow and change yet still at their core be very much the same just better, if that makes any sense, was just wonderful to witness. Also the romantic development between Alyra and Tarek is chief’s kiss—the best and most squeal worthy part of the whole book because, gosh, I love these two broken beans SO MUCH!!! And without spoiling anything I’m so happy that Tarek and Stitch resolved things between them.

I cannot stress enough how much this story is touching and helping me in my life right now; everything here seems to be reflecting something major in my life and helping me to trust and love God even more. Alyra and Tarek especially I feel and see so much of me in their struggles and personalities, and the way Issah loves them and never gives up on them shows me of just how much Jesus loves me even when no one else does and that gives me hope and courage.

I love this series and wish more people knew about it!

No matter the stresses of everyday life, Jackie Castle's writing takes you to a place that is exciting, sometimes worrisome but her books take me to a wonderful place where I find peace, harmony and find myself uplifted and falling in love with the characters that make up "The White Road Chronicles" and wanting to jump into the book and hang with them :) .

So close so close!

Ahhhh! What next? After so much waiting everything clashes and so as to avoid more spoilers, I will say, our little Alyra is a force to be reckoned with, and properly aligned, is unstoppable! And exciting read!

Not long enough

The story is most engaging, and flows nicely from the previous books. It just ended abruptly. I was expecting more. Because the novella was attached, I thought there was 25 percent of the story left. What a disappointment! Having to wait for the next installment is torture!

Another wonderful story

Another book that pulled me right through to the end of it! I love Tibb's entry into the storyline. King Shaydon truly represents out Lord in the way he uses our 'wrong' choices for good.
