All's Fae in Love and War

Rate this book
The final showdown has arrived.

Nemain, the murderous, self-appointed Queen, has her sights set on the magic running through my veins. She'll stop at nothing to steal my power and begin her reign of terror over every fae in the world.

Worse, my mating bond with Balor hurtles us closer and closer to danger. A new prophecy makes one thing clear—our love will either save the world. Or, it will end it.

I have no choice but to fight. To save all of Faerie from Nemain—and my love for Balor—I must do whatever it takes. Even if that means losing it all.

All's Fae in Love and War is the sixth and final book in the Paranormal PI Files!

It’s finally here! The thrilling conclusion to this fantastic fantasy series full of the never ending battle of love and hate. I loved how everything played out. The story left me guessing till the end. From the first page I couldn’t put it down and it didn’t disappoint! It was bittersweet to see the end of these wonderful characters but perhaps they’ll put up in future stories!

I have enjoyed myself every single book in this series, including this one. This is the last book, but I do know that there is going to be another series set in the same universe. That makes me very happy. This series ender also made me very happy. With Clark on the throne, and her and Balor’s magic going crazy, they must find any way to stop Nemian, even if they must part forever. Without giving away very much, this was a fabulous book: well-written, a great ending, and enthralling action. I really enjoyed this book so much, and I really look forward to the next book with another main character. So, this isn’t the last (probably!) of Balor and Clark thankfully! If you love this series so far, you’ll love how it ends! Highly recommend, and I was provided a copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Fast paced Kick ass story

While the Urban Fantasy genre is getting crowded, this series truly stood out. Fantastic female MC who doesn’t take too long to grow into and accept her powers. She never forgets where she came from but grows to become (you guessed it) one of the most powerful fae on earth. There is nothing groundbreaking here but neither is a comfy pair of boots. If you enjoy this genre you will love this series.

Great read

This was an amazing series with a good plot and fantastic characters. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because for me it was too long. Any series for me more than four books I start to get bored with the plot and characters. The last three books were much the same. Push and pull and little skirmishes that there was not a winner. It gets old but I still recommend this series.

Too much filler and fluff, weak MFC, no romance for a PNR book.

I am leaving my review for the whole series on this last book because I don’t want to have to worry about spoilers. If you have made it this far, then you already know everything I am going to talk about.
1. This series is at the least 2 books too long. There is so much fluff and filler in this series it’s ridiculous!
2. Clark/Morrigan has gone from a strong independent character to a bumbling fool throughout the series.
3. There is no way this can be classified as a romance, since there isn’t really anything romantic about the relationship between Clark and Baylor, or Morrigan and Smiter.

So, point one, the second book about the sorcerer and his slaugh, useless, and had nothing to do with the over all story, just filler that amounted to zero developments. Sure they talked a bit about returning the slaugh to living beings, but never did. That whole book was a waste of time and information, could have just skipped it and would not have lost anything for the story. Also, the vampire blackmail book was another waste of time and effort for absolutely no return whatsoever. There were better ways the author could have revealed Clark’s past, and it would have only taken a few paragraphs at best. Devoting a whole book to the topic was rubbish and an unnecessary waste of time and energy.

Point two, when we first meet Clark she is struggling to get by, but making her own way. From the moment she is forced into joining the Court, she begins to deteriorate into a whinny woe is me out right fool of a character. Many of the so called plot points were weak and only served to further illustrate how ignorant and incapable Clark had become, constantly being out smarted, out maneuvered and out matched by every single “villain” throughout the whole series. Regardless of her so called powers or even the bad guys powers, she becomes little more the the damsel in distress who somehow, through the grace of poor writing, manages to scrape by and somehow half way win.

Point three, it takes almost until the 5th book before there’s anything really happening between Clark and Baylor, meanwhile we’ve been introduced to two other potential relationships simply to create some sort of romantic tension, because both of them end up being little more than filler characters who are tossed aside as soon as the author wanted to try to focus on tension between the two main lead characters. And then there’s that back and forth, what’s the term authors like to use, oh yeah Whiplash. They don’t fully secure their relationship until the last chapter of book six, that’s not romance, that’s gimmick.

And one final, though marginal issue I have is with the covers. It’s clear they are supposed to be Clark and Baylor, but are they really, since Baylor image doesn’t have him wearing an eyepatch until book 5, which ironically is the book he loses his eye magic anyway! 🤨🧐🙄

I picked up this series because I had read a previous one by the same author and thought it was alright, though this one is not. Needless to say not everything an author does is on the same quality level and this is proof.

This was the final show down of an eventful Urban Fantasy series. Clark is followed by trouble wherever she goes and it’s a good thing she is so incredibly stubborn. The elements of this series tied in well. I thought that Jenna Wolfhart could have even played a bit more with Balor and Clark’s relationship, but it’s also good to leave the reader wanting more rather than feeling exhausted by the characters. Betrayal, grief and successes are all part of the story in a way that make your heart jump in different directions. I did feel a bit shortchanged with regards to the initial prophecy by Caer though. But all in all, the story was crafted with great imagination and wonderful characters.

Good Series

I like this series because it is well written. The story makes sense and keeps you interested without having huge plot holes or poor grammar. This book concluded the series and it didn’t leave unfinished issues but I wouldn’t mind reading more stories set in this universe.

A lovely end

These books have been a fun whirlwind of various supernatural tropes and I have really enjoyed them a lot. I think there's a lot more story to tell, but it doesn't seem like there'll be more of these, which is a shame. Definitely worth a read though.

Read the entire series in 2 1/2 days!

So, I want to preface this review with a fact about me. When it comes to series that contain more than 5 books, I usually end up biking on it after book 3-4. That is because, imo most of the time the story could have been wrapped up by book no. 3. For me, they tend to go on way too long, and it feels like money grab by the Author. I’m not saying that as fact, I’m just stating what it feels like as a reader.

However, all of that being said, there have most definitely been a few series, such as this one, that I just couldn’t stop reading until the very last word of the very last book. I truly enjoyed every single book in this series, so much so that I even looked on the Authors page for spinoffs of the side characters. Cuz, as all of u other self proclaimed bibliophiles know, when it’s good and it all comes together, there’s not much better.

As for my thoughts on the characters, and/or a summation of the story, well, I don’t like to do any of that in my reviews. I simply want to share my opinion on whether or not I enjoyed the book, and found it worth my time.

I will say this, if you enjoy this Genre, need to submerge yourself in another world for a while, then this series will not only take u there, but keep you there as well!

Absolutely loved this seires 💜 so much has happened, loved the journey with all the new twits and turns in every book. Alot of tension between them and all I wanted was for them to get together already. Clark drove me crazy sometimes but I love her. Balor's betrayal broke my heart, but I loved the ending, everything worked out. I'd definitely recommend this seires, it was awesome.

It's over. Clark finally goes head to head with Nemain. But Nemain is always 5 steps ahead, and has control of the whole court. But Clark and Balor's magic will either save them or destroy everything. I'm sad it's over but that ending! I'm excited for Moira's story!
