This is such a cute story. I read it to my niece and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything in this book was just wonderful; from it being based on 'The Wright Brothers' to the characters to the plot and of course the stunning illustrations. The illustrations have to be my favorite thing, they have this dreamy whispy hue about them that really draws you in. Seriously perfect! Definitely something we'll read many more times. So woth buying the actual print copy. Also, the free gifts at the end are just awesome. Who doesn't love coloring pages and a free picture book called Mr Smudge's Thirsty Day :)
*I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy.*
The art in this book is amazing. I was mesmerized by it and I think any kid would also be. The book tells the story of a small but ambitious bear. He wishes to fly more than anything. He is lucky because his grandparents have built a plane. They called it "The Wright Plane". It was funny that he tries to use chocolate or ketchup as a fuel for a plane. It's important to teach children about the Wright brothers, and this book is an excellent way to do it. However, I would've liked the book more if the story was following the true story of the Wright brothers. It would've been more educative that way. But I enjoyed it a lot as it is. A cute story of courage, ambition, and determination. It's so short that no child will have problems at paying attention.
This book is gorgeous and has such bright and beautiful illustrations. The story is very sweet and inspired by the Wright brothers with a bit about them at the end of the book.
Goggles is a bear who longs to fly, and will do anything to achieve his dream. Lucky for him, his grandparents, Growlville and Wilma Wright (no relation to Orville and Wilbur Wright) just happen to be the first bears to build and fly an airplane. Even more lucky for him, the security guard hired to watch the plane is a turtle. So, Goggles is able to sneak onto the airplane just before takeoff on its first successful flight. The plane flies high into the atmosphere, all the while nobody noticing Goggles is on board. They encounter bear-shaped clouds on their flight (imagine that). Being that this is a bear-operated plane, the flying machine is fueled with honey. Unfortunately, the Wrights forgot to put a fuel gauge on their aircraft, so they run out of fuel in mid-flight. Luckily for them, Goggles wasn’t too hungry that day and hadn’t eaten any of the honey he brought along with him for his mid-flight snack. So, they quickly pour his honey into the tank and avert the first bear-operated plane crash. Goggles also avoids getting in trouble by saving the day with his honey. My advice to the Wright bears: Fire the turtle, but not before installing a fuel gauge and maybe building a compartment on board to hold some extra honey, just in case you or the plane gets hungry.
Truth of the daffodil on a quickly Kirk hill day that zooms in the water drops of a fountain of blooming dandelions up on a hill through the cloudy winds of Carolina Kirk of a kind topper of glorified rain that echoes in the light of the line of leaflets that springs the truth of justice that Wongs the hourglass of yesterday’s judicial system of servitude that echoes and is shown to me in the abandoned puddles of filth all to steel my innocence of the light of kind that cries in repitition of a stollen life of injustices that lingers in the trees of what was once the glory of the light of creation. Droplets of rain fall like the tears of salt that screams the trees of the lost all to claim stollen territories and leaves that once belonged to the light of creation . And you wonder why there our droughts and nasty disasters ..he drops tears of his broken heart and the longer of the leaves laughs and cries as it’s weaves in the Kirk of stolleness. I will never echo the rainbow unless the droplets shows remorse for the sout.
Goggles has a dream. He wants to fly. Readers meet this small bear and see how he uses his imagination to dream as well as commitment to move beyond dreaming. His grandparents (Growlville and Wilma Wright) have built a plane and will be the first bears to fly. Goggles provides the solution to their fuel issue and sneaks aboard for the first flight. Brief informative text about the Wright brothers included at the end. Gunson has written a story to inspire young readers to combine imagination and effort to pursue their dreams. The illustrations are brightly colored and pull the reader in to fly along.
Determination, and a little sneakiness, pay off for Goggles in pursuit of his dream to fly. Although a short story, the illustrations offer a rich opportunity to spark a child’s imagination. As I read, I imagined an emphatic classroom, pointing out the success of the flying mouse, the slowly filling and then over-full jar of honey that tracked on each page, the animal audience, and then talking about the inspiration for the story and how dreams can come true. This is a book to read and relish and share with little ones.
This adorable story uses delightful language to tell a fantastic tale. The illustrations are some of the most beautiful images I have ever seen in a children’s book. Readers will find themselves absorbed in the magical journey that Goggles embarks on.
The characters are super adorable and the illustrations are immaculate. I seriously want to visit where-ever the illustrator based these places on. My kids loved this story so much that I read it out loud TWO times tonight! Absolutely perfect. Loved it!!!!!!
These pages are just beautiful and the story is whimsical and just right for a bedtime story for the preschool kiddies. Like Pooh, the small hero of this story loves his honey, but this fellow is a bit more adventurous!
My daughter loves this book and asks to read it every night! The illustrations are beautiful, and the story is a fun way to teach children something (like the first flight & the weight brothers), while letting their imaginations run wild!
I bought this book for my grandson. The artwork is beautiful, however, the story falls a bit flat. It didn't seem to engage my five-year-old grandson the way I thought it would.
bears in goggles, so cool!! always been a fan of airplanes ... a cute bear in goggles .. . very cool!! must read, u will enjoy it. check it out. great illustrations
This is everything a children's book should be: gorgeous artwork, loveable characters, an interesting plot, and values children can aspire to all wrapped up in a sweet story.
This book is about a bear who has a dream to do something everyone else says is impossible, and through determination and belief in himself, he accomplishes his dream.
Story aside, the illustrations are my favorite part. They are dreamy in soft lines, pastels and vivid colors combined, and sweeping movement, yet they are detailed and full of thought.
My kids enjoyed the ebook, and I look forward to purchasing a print copy. I would love to see this series as a movie or show because I know my children would love watching this.
Jonathan Gunson graces the world with a wonderful never give up on your dreams story in "Goggles: The Bear Who Dreamed Of Flying." Goggles the Bear constantly dream about flying, and his grandparents build an airplane that runs on honey for fuel to fly in the air. After several challenges in the sky, the Wright Bears safely land the airplane on some emergency honey fuel and the become the first bears to successfully fly an airplane. Gunson does a great job with providing an imaginative story and that dreams can really come true. Richard Robinson illuminates the story with superb illustrations that allows the readers to see the wonderful world of Goggles the Bear. I recommend this story for children aged 2 to 8 years old.
Lovely Illustrations and Story ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ What a great book! The illustrations were truly captivating and beautiful to look at, and the story was short, sweet, and a little goofy. It doesn’t really make any logical sense, but perfect imaginary sense. It is wonderful for a 3 year old. I can see myself reading this to my child over and over.
I also loved the touch of real history that followed up the ending. Not too much so a child would be lost, but enough to peak their interest and have them understand it is based off of real people. Awesome addition.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Outstanding children’s book, I loved it for so many reasons. The illustrations are just stunning, rich and full of colors. They could tell the story without words. I especially loved the filling station with ketchup etc so imaginative. Overall the story is heartwarming and fun. I plan on reading it to my 18 month old granddaughter the next time I babysit. This book will be a classic.
A beautiful story with amazing illustrations that will captivate your child's mind and heart. I love how the bears did not give up on their dream but kept trying. This is a great message to take away from this story. Never. Give. Up. On. Your. Dream. Recommended
This is a fun and inspirational book that my kids loved. Lots of re-reading potential. But what really stands out are the illustrations. They are absolutely stunning. I could just look through the illustrations over and over. Highly recommend, definitely a classic in the making.
Absolutely beautiful book! The story is captivating, Goggles the bear is loveable (you just want to hug him), and the illustrations are amazing. The illustrations alone tell a story on each page. They will inspire perseverance in following your dreams even to the adults who read it.
I loved this sweet story, especially love the grandparents making their secret airplane in the barn. Also found the educational component a nice touch. It's so beautifully illustrated it will make you want to linger on each page just to find all the hidden little gems, like all the cloud shapes in the sky. Read it to you're favorite dreamer, they'll be glad you did!
"Goggles" is an endearing and inspiring story about following your dreams. Goggles daydreamed about flying every moment of every day. Although he was told he was too little to fly, Goggles was always ready, just in case! The story will capture your heart and the stunning illustrations take you to a whimsical place where anything is possible. I highly recommend this book!
Goggles: The Bear Who Dreamed of Flying is a warm and wonderful, beautifully illustrated book that reminded me, in a nostalgic way, of classic Winnie the Pooh stories. It's sure to delight readers of all ages. I'm looking forward to his further adventures. P.S. I love how the honey jar fills up as you turn the pages!
This story made me want to be a kid again. It’s artwork reminded me of the vivid daydreams I had as a child. Cute lesson too about believing in your dreams and going for them! I look forward to more from this author!
