Social Psychology, 10E by Saul M. Kassin was probably one of the better text books I have read. First and foremost it did an excellent job of explaining concepts in ways that were easy to grasp. In fact there were several different concepts discussed in this book that I have learned about multiple times throughout the years and yet it wasn't until reading about them again in this book that I really felt like I gained a full understanding of them.

Second, it had lots and lots of studies and research cited throughout and wonderful info graphic depictions of the information from these studies. These were some of the easiest to read graphs, depicting very intriguing information.

Finally, I loved how much focus was placed on bringing in a multicultural aspect to every single chapter instead of just making a standalone chapter to discuss the multicultural aspects in social psychology. And extending from this point, I also loved how not only were very important and classic research and experiments discussed, but a lot of new and timely information as well.

I liked the book but it was a little too repetitive for my liking. It made the material very easy to digest and I learned a lot!

There are some things that seriously need to be updated. Attitudes, especially around dating and close relationships, have changed pretty significantly from the 80s. But it was a good textbook.

this book is an introductory book for the field of social psychology. compared to others i have read/skimmed, this one does a nice job of dividing up the various research areas into chapters that make sense together. there are great chapters on the self, other persons, and stereotypes that integrate a wide range of more specific studies into a chapter that makes sense of the larger concepts. however, like any undergrad textbook, it's a very superficial look at social psychology.
