Mild-mannered, risk-averse Iris agreed to a European road trip with her adrenaline junkie daughter. She did not agree to spend two weeks running for her life, and it's making her a little cranky.
Come along on Iris’ wild ride, as she taps long dormant reserves to elude the bad guys, and demonstrate that old people are more skilled, and a lot tougher, than anyone thinks. Wit, and old lady subterfuge are her main weapons, along with a knack for tapping the happy accident.
With heart-stopping action, witty banter, and plenty of laughs, Iris Incensed begins the Iris Winterbek Adventure series. Stories for readers who like their heroines to step up, and do what needs to be done.
Book 2 - Iris All A high-stakes gamble against a perfectly beautiful villain.
Book 3 - Iris Iris tangles with a Russian oligarch on the high seas.
Nancy Bartlett writes novels about funny, smart, quirky women who are taking on the world.
Each of her heroines stumbles into adventures, sometimes with very bad people. They get out of their difficulties not by calling for help, but by figuring out how to take action, and make a difference.
The fun starts with the Iris Winterbek Adventures series, featuring the inspiring travels, and hair-raising entanglements of the world's most unexpected action hero.
Formerly Nancy was an environmental columnist focused on marine science, waterfront living, and coastal travel. Now she lives on a sailboat, immersed in her favorite subject, exploring the Caribbean, and writing her next adventure series.
Iris and Amy tour Europe while unknowingly followed by various groups of yobs!
I'm closer to Iris' age than Amy's, and was very happy to read their combined adventures. Not only was their itinerary interesting - their unwitting abilities to "take out" the bad guys was very amusing. Any country getting a visit from this mother and daughter should expect local crime to increase and international crimes to be solved. And having a "senior citizen" as an active participant, rather than a passive observer is so timely. Congrats on a wonderful read!
