I thought the concept and first chapter of the book were really insightful. They helped me name some of the issues I’ve noticed in my own mindset, and with reading, I did a lot of thinking about how I want to move forward in a more positive way.

Unfortunately, the rest of the book did not live up. Not only was the rest of the book really really really repetitive :) it simply regurgitated methods instead of offering analysis on what the entire book is about. Rewiring your brain. Meditation, yoga, journaling, etc. - he touched on almost all of it BUT there was no detail on how to properly think. There were so many facts about the science of how sleeping more helps your brain - but the information presented was like a fact pamphlet i could pick up from my doctor. Nothing connected it! Honestly if you just read the titles and the subtitles, you would know basically every single suggestion since most of the descriptions just ramble. (Check out the compassion chapter in particular)

Finally, if you are going to talk about science, back it up before you publish it. The human brain is made up of 73% water, not 80. The entire chapter about intermittent fasting is based largely on data in mice from a study w/ researchers from Korea and Singapore, and also such advice should be given with some medical background (or at least a disclaimer). Neurogenesis is primarily found in the hippocampus with fasting - not the entire brain.

I appreciate the chance to challenge myself and look into new ways of thinking - but this book was not it for me.

Nice book,
Rewire your brain: makes new habits !

I just read the chapter 5 and 6 since I am very bored and have no patience reading the whole thing!

Chapter 5 described the habit three steps of trigger, routine and reward. And it tried to mention some of bad habits and how to overcome them by overt simple steps including procrastination, perfectionism, lying, bad sleep, and phone addiction.

Chapter 6 described some good habits that people should try getting including gratuity, compassion and forgiveness, journaling and writing down your daily notes and thoughts, intermittent fasting and low card diet, yoga and exercises. Author mentioned some benefits for these good habits on the brain and mood.

It’s good to read self help books like this once in awhile. It reminds a person how easy it is to fall into the trap of overthinking things in life. Nothing new from self help books of twenty years ago but it’s good reminder on how to stay positive

This was such an easy and very informative read. It didn't feel like I was ever getting overloaded with too much information as it is the usual with most self-help books. I would recommend.

Great tools for taking control of your thoughts. A couple parts of the book were a little out of my belief system but overall easy to skim through. Helpful book overall.

Mediocre ideas marry lazy editing

You get what you pay for with this free book. It looks and sounds like an undergraduate student's notes on Wellness 101, contrived into a very long essay that uses words like "great" twice in the same sentence.

The bolded chapter titles and suggests are 95% of the actual content.

Self help

A self help to make yourself better. Its method was varied, from yoga, cold shower, intermittent fasting, etc. It's basically the same as common self help book out there.
