Dragon Guards #42

Dragon, Be Mine: Clan Saor-làithean

Rate this book
The books in the EPIC DRAGON GUARD series can be read as STAND-ALONE stories. Enjoy! I can’t wait to hear what you think of this one. ~Julia

Tropical vacation, his fire-breathin’ ass. The Isle of Dagda is not for the feign of heart. Weather patterns changed at the whim of the gods. One minute, his scales could be boiling off his backside, the next, he could be soaked to the bone. It’s nowhere Ven ever wanted to go, but when duty calls, what’s a Dragon to do?

Through the power of the gods and the good deeds of her Ancestors, Izett is none other than the legendary White Winged Wolf. Created by Dagda's Lightning, it’s foretold that she will restore the balance of time, open the hidden portals, and guide the Magical world to their Eden. No pressure, right?

Finding one another was the easy part. Staying alive to complete their destiny, well, that's where things just might go to hell in a handcart.
With little time to waste and the Fate of the Past, Present, and Future resting squarely on their shoulders, can Izett accept that Fate has thrown her yet another curveball? Can Ven persuade his lovely Lupine Queen that scales are better than fur any day of the week? Will this couple defeat the Demon god of Time and Space before everything they know is blown to kingdom come?

Fate will not be denied, but She’s put in a tall order this time. Hanging on to true love with both hands, Ven and Izett will move heaven and earth to save the day. But will it be enough?

“Forever thine. Forever mine. For all time. Dragon, Be Mine”

Mom of two rockin' girls, Reader of everything, Author of The Dragon Guards series and many more surprises to come!

I am a sarcastic, sometimes foul-mouthed, not afraid to drink a beer, always southern woman with 2 of the most amazing teenage daughters,
a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading who recently decided to write the storied running through her brain. I read my first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat by myself at 4 and was hooked.
I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books
I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy! I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance.
I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it. CHEERS!

Copy & paste from a earlier book of hers in this series: Her Dragon's No Angel (Dragon Guard Series Book 11). There's at LEAST 3 lines I'm pretty sure are lifted directly from the book I'm question & 4 or more very similar scenes. I feel like I'm reading the book again with tiny scenes changed.

Let's see:

Both books: Dragon running a errand in a terrible storm that forces him to seek shelter that the mate had set up & causes the dragon to faint from a light she emits.

In the other book the dragon is trying to travel in a terrible snow storm & the mate in question is a Christmas angel.

The female of both books is trying to contact her sisters but can't get through

Both on a mission they don't know what it actually is

Both tries to sense what the entity is in a hole
(Christmas angel was a newborn angel)
This book Chronos

Both characters fall/slip together into water on accident

Both Females makes a winged comment & dragon asks how she knew

Both: dragon listens in to females convo & female feels should mate w same species (wolf and Angel)

The entity in question blows the dragons mind shield

This is an OK dragon shifter romance, but it was confusing at times. It is a short novella, so maybe there wasn't room for better explanations, but Izett's power was never fully explained. She was obviously very powerful, but what exactly were her powers, and why was she chosen to have them? I also wished there had been more explanation of the god Dagda, what exactly his powers were, and why he gave Izett her powers. He was obviously a good god, but that's about all the reader was told.

The story also kept saying that Ven was a clan Saor-làithean dragon, but it never really explained how that was different from other Dragon Guardsmen. It also never explained why he had a Warrior Dragon, when most other guardsmen don't have one.

Ven and Izett were likable, though, and were good together. I especially liked how they were able to tease each other, even when they were fighting the demon god. She was even able to tease his dragon and the other guardsmen from his clan -- all telepathically.

I did wish there had been an epilogue, so we could see how Ven and Izett were doing a few months (or even years) later.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Ven finds himself on the Isle of Dagda where the weather is very changeable. He goes into a cave to shelter from the driving rain only for Izett to appear - she is White Winged Wolf that was created by Dagda's Lightning where it’s foretold that she will restore the balance of time, open the hidden portals, and guide the Magical world to their Eden. It turns out she is his fated mate and if he can persuade her that her mate doesn't have to be a wolf too and if they can both the defeat Demon God of Time and Space then they can have a future together! It seems that fate truly has used a curveball this time - can they use all their connections, skills and work together to have success?

This was a sweet story that had lots of drama and danger involved as the plot developed and we learnt more about them and their skills as they worked together to defeat Chronos. It was nice to pull in other dragon guards to take part in the battle and the way they all had to work together to the best of their strengths. Well written and very enjoyable. Contains some sexual content at the end of the story.

Amazing story about Dragon Guard shifter finding his mate

Ven is a Ruby Dragon Guard shifter, a fierce Warrior, A'ed is his dragon, and is looking for his true mate. He's ordered to go to the island, coming in the middle of a hurricane. There he meets Izett, a winged white wolf shifter of legend.

Izett is the guardian of power crystals of the Celtic God. However, she doesn't believe that Ven is her true mate. Will they survive attack from an evil demon god?

The characters are intriguing, unique, and relatable because they are shifters who have real problems. The plot is a fast paced drama with a few twists. This is one of a series of dragon guard written by Julia Mills. I began reading this Dragon guard series because it was so interesting and unusual stories about dragons. I loved the stories about dragons who are heroes in their own right with their own stories and are looking for their true mates.

Very highly recommend this book and one of the Dragon guard series.

Humour was great and I liked both Izett and Ven.
Ms Mills has given us another heroine with a very special heritage and strong abilities. A typical dragon guard male in Ven but I did like how he stepped back to let Izett do her stuff.
An enjoyable book and though we don’t get enough dragon guard action until right at the end when battling the big bad, the humour and banter kept me entertained.
Love the mating ceremony but I have to be truthful and say certain parts reminded me of an earlier book in this series.
I love all these books and the spin off characters, clans, series we are getting but at times I am starting to get confused as to whom is who and related to which clan.
I cannot wait for Ms Mills to go back to the earlier dragon guard characters.

I never thought I would say, "I just finished book 42 of the series." Yup, I just said it, even if it was only to my dogs. Seriously, the talent it takes to keep a series going this long, truly amazes me. How many times can I say, "She's done it again!" The action, mystery and drama we are used to, with the romance we come to expect. Like all Dragons, Ven is very protective of his mate. He knows Izett is very capable of taking care of herself. He will be with her to face any danger. These two have a very intense journey to a HEA. I received an advance copy and this is my honest opinion. Thank you Ms. Mills for hours of Dragons to fall in love with!

love in unlikely places

Izett was sent on a task. Ven was sent on a mission and is trying to get back home, but a storm has grounded him. He seeks shelter and finds a cave that looks like someone has been there before. Izett comes back to the cave she has been staying in and find someone there. Ven senses his mate. Izett gets a weird feeling, but feels it can’t be right, because she believes her mate is to be another wolf not what ever shifter this man is. Next thing they know they are fighting for their lives. Can they defeat the evil? Will they have their happy ever after? Come on in and find out.

Dragon, Be Mine is a fun and quick paranormal romance by Julia Mills. Ms. Mills has delivered a well-written book populated with dragon shifters and the Fionn Faoll. Izett returned to the cave she'd been using to find Ven, a dragon shifter there sheltering from the storm. Izett and Ven's story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle and action. I enjoyed this quick read and look forward to reading more from Julia Mills in the future. Dragon, Be Mine is book 42 of the Dragon Guard Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

This a quick, fast paced story that is very good. It is well written and has beautifully developed characters. Ven and Izett have this fun and intense relationship. She is strong, intelligent, and loving. He is protective, strong, and caring. It is action packed, full of drama and mystery. It has a flow that is superb. I love the support characters as the add so much to the story. It is definitely worth reading!!!!!

Ven and Izett find love and save the world

While I had heard of Dagda, I didn’t know much of his story, and I definitely didn’t know other than the name Fionn Faoll. This story provides a good glimpse at them.
Ven and Izett are great warriors in their own right. Together they are formidable. Fate brought them together to fight and win.
A worthy entry in the Dragon Guard series.

A female winged wolf shifter and a male dragon shifter warrior!

A female winged wolf shifter is sent on a mission on a magical island. A male dragon shifter warrior is heading home for Valentine's Day when he is caught in the worst storm ever. He is told to find a place to wait out the storm. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. Happy reading!

REVIEW
I enjoyed the banter between Ven and Izett.
The fact that they are doing the work of a god is amazing.
The action is perfectly done, and the love between these two mates is off the charts.
Izett doesn't take any of her mate' crap and Ven has no choice but to go along. I love when our females are full of sass.
I think she has gotten her groove back...

A new family has been added to the epic. As part of the series the book can be read as a stand alone story with a HEA ending. Taking place on a deserted island where our dragon has gone to be alone he meets his fated mate. From the start nothing goes smoothly. I enjoyed the story and would recommend it.

Love Rules

What a good story! Short and sweet...Dragon, Ven, gets out of the story in a cave he hoped nobody else was in. Izett, a wolf in a mega way, was on this island on a mission, someone was in her cave? One look is all it took...for him.. She's not really sure?

Nothing is ever easy when these Dragon Guards find their mates. Some source of devil is always trying to take the mates away from each other. I love reading the Dragon guard series. No book is without its own action packed adventure.
