I've read this trilogy over and over for years. It just gets better all the time. I have a few books like these that I reread until they look well broken in but now there's Kindle. Handy but a very different feel. These books are old friends who give me warm fuzzies every time I read them. Enjoy!
This is one of my favorite books by JoAnn Ross. I loved Nate, like most women he ran across. LA Detective Regan was a good match for Nate and knocked his world upside down and inside out, which according to his brothers was a long time coming. Throw in their heroics in saving Josh, you have a story that you can't put down. You need to know what happens next. Loved it!
Nate Callahan has always adored women but avoided the idea of settling down with just one woman. That is until he met a detective from L.A., who turned his life upside down. Wonderful love story!
Magnolia Moon was a charming read, much like the small but lively town of Blue Bayou it is set in. It was welcoming, and heart-warming. The characters are what made the story appealing, possessing the types of spunky personalities to charm their way into your life. Or rather, they charmed me into their small-town lives.
Blue Bayou is a flashback to a quiet and solitary life, free of the city hustle and bustle but full of family and picture-perfect moments. A place so different from the dangerous and harsh reality that homicide Detective Regan Hart sees everyday on L.A. streets. She's not at Blue Bayou for rest and relaxation, she's here to discover the truth about her identity and suspicious death of a woman who could be her mother. Yet, as serious and determined as she is she can't help but turn to Blue Bayou's major for help. Just like she can't resist Nate's help and resources, she also can't seem to rest Nate himself. With his seductive drawl and magnetic ways, Regan is slowly falling in love with him.
There is no question, Nate is a charmer, a ladies man who fits into his role of Blue Bayou mayor well. Beyond his seductive and carefree ways is a more vulnerable side. His painful experience of losing a loved ones resides inside him and keeps him from loving again. It is Regan who tests his heart and touches him in ways he never thought he could feel.
Even though there was a mystery involved, it felt more like a sub-plot compared to the romance which lasted all throughout the whole story. They had a great connection that appealed to me and kept me interested, despite a mystery that didn't quite connect. The mystery did intrigue at first but as the story progressed lost steam, ending almost too humbly.
I saw this at a library book sale, and got it for a dollar. I wanted to try a book by this author, as I saw some of my friends had her on their lists. I wasn't disappointed. This is the third book in a trilogy about 3 brothers from Louisiana. I don't think the stories were really linked together except for each one featuring one of the brothers. I understood everything that was going on and I haven't read the others yet. Each character had a full description, and details were mentioned from the past that enabled me to understand the different aspects to the story.
This was a romantic suspense which I felt had different mysteries going on at once. First there was Regan trying to figure out who her real parents were, and whether or not her mother may have been murdered. Then there was the mystery surrounding the boy Josh and who he was running from. There were also some side stories about an abusive relationship and some different background stories about Nate and his father.
It was a packed book, and that kept me from getting bored. I also didn't really know how the mystery was going to be solved until I read it in the last few pages. I'm going to go back and read the first two books since I'm curious about the other brothers.

Magnolia Moon is the 3rd and final book in The Callahan Brothers trilogy. It is about Nate Callahan, the youngest of the three brothers and mayor of Blue Bayou, and Reagan Hart, a homicide detective from LA who has come to Blue Bayou to solve her mother's 30 year old murder.
I didn't really care for this one as much a I did the 1st book in this trilogy. I didn't connect to the characters as much, especially Reagan, and it was a little too cheesy at times. Also, the investigation seemed to take a back seat to the developing relationship between Nate and Reagan, and the revelation of what happened to her mother was a bit anti-climactic.
Regan gets a visit from Nate in LA. He is telling her that she is entitled to some bearer bonds that her mother had left behind for her. Apparently, when Regan was two, her mother died. The coroner said it was suicide but Nate's dad had filed it as a cold case. Regan is a LA homicide cop. She wants to investigate and find out what happened. She did not remember her time in Blue Bayou, LA. Her mother was another woman who died a few years back from cancer. Nate starts falling for her which is surprising because he is a playboy. Regan starts liking him once they start spending time together. Will Regan find out the truth and get her man?
This is the third in the series about the Callahan brothers. Nate was the mayor of Blue Bayou and definitely a ladies man. While remodeling the Courthouse he discovered a secret that was thirty-three years in the making and involved a LA cop named Reagan. It is very interesting how this story developed and how Reagan completely befuddled Nate and proves that love can conquer all. I really enjoyed this book.
It was an interesting read but a bit of a weird turn in the end. I learned an interesting trick involving fruit...you'll have to read the book to understand ;) It was a bit naughty but very well written.
L.A. homicide detective Regan Hart's life is turned upside down when Nate Callahan tracks her down. Apparently, her mother was actually her aunt and her "real" mother was killed in Blue Bayou when she was two years old.
I tried very hard to get into this book. It just didn't grab my attention and I stopped reading it. The book was well written but just didn't interest me.
And then there were three... I enjoyed this series about the Callahan brothers very much on the whole. Occasionally the southern Gentleman charmer was a bit too much (although he did say he'd stop if she asked him to), but I liked the heroine here, and it made for a good holiday read.
