Gorgeous art collection of all of Mondo’s posters and album artwork featuring Batman the Animated Series. Printing is high quality, gloss on the artwork only with matte paper to make the imagines pop. All variants are featured including sketches and rough drafts never selected. The anecdotes throughout plus foreword by Paul Dini adds to the fun. Highly recommended for fans of the series.

Mondo is known for its alternate posters for films, television and video games. One artist named Justin Erickson, who worked for Mondo, did posters of Batman: The Animated Series, a show that is much loved and considered by many fans, including myself, would consider it as the best version of Batman. Published by Titan Books, this coffee-table hardcover features Erickson's illustrations that celebrate the show.

Opening with a foreword by one of the show's creators Paul Dini, to then an interview with the aforementioned Erickson, the rest of the book showcases all the posters that respect the Art Deco feel of the animated series, whilst putting their own spin on the numerous episodes, as well as the masterful feature film, Mask of the Phantasm. Ranging from the best episodes ("Heart of Ice") to the worst ("I've Got Batman in my Basement"), these posters are produced in the highest quality, whilst cleverly acknowledging how cine-literate the show is.

I received this book as a Christmas present, which is something I suggested as reminded of the tragic passing of Kevin Conroy, who not only voiced Batman on the animated series, but has voiced that character on subsequent media for thirty years. This man will be missed, and this Mondo art book is worthy of being a tribute to him, as well as this great show.

This book collects the various BTAS poster designs made by Phantom City Creative for Mondo. They are some of the most beautiful posters I've ever seen. The style matches the subject matter perfectly, and the craft of the drawing and coloring is amazing. The size of the book is very generous, larger than an oversized comic, so you can really appreciate the details in the work. The words in it are pretty sparse, but there are a few anecdotes and descriptions from the artist, as well as a small interview with him and an intro by Paul Dini. Luckily the brevity of word doesn't matter much, as this book has what it needs in the bountiful reproductions of these beautiful prints. The design of the book itself is also great, with a stark yellow and black style, with good use of spot gloss on the cover. I love it. I've always wanted to own some of this art, either as poster or vinyl record, but they're prohibitively expensive. Now I can have a physical reproduction of all the art in one place, and it's glorious.

This is a collection of all the multiple alternative posters by Mondo for the episodes of the greatest animated show ever : batman the animated series. They’re absolutely gorgeous and it’s a great basis for layout inspiration. Roughs and sketches are included documenting the evolution of the final pieces. The book in itself is also beautiful with great paper quality and a gloss finish on the cover.
