Easy read. Another chapter of Julie’s life in Seagrove. I like these books but I can’t help wonder why it isn’t just one book all together.

Don’t waste your money…….

All these book should have been condensed into one……so predictable and unrealistic. The author gives you just enough to raise your interest to read the next book…and thus get you to spend the $.

I loved going back to South Carolina and visiting with all the family and friends. This fourth installment has been a good look at Dixie, she just may be my favorite character in this series. I can't wait to read the fifth book in this series.

This series has been a favorite of mine since I read the first book and you keep making it better each and every story. I love that it is centered around a divorced older woman who had to start over later in life after a divorce and being on her own for the first time in years. Life is never easy no matter what time in life things happen but this story does show us that there is always another chance at happiness when you open your heart to it. This island has also become a very special place for her starting over and to help her learn more about herself than she has ever known. Love, family and a mended heart will be just what she needs to continue on with her journey in life.

Another quick read in this series. Lots of drama and bonding moments. I hope things settle down for Meg as her problems have took over the last 2 books and I would like to see some happiness in the next one

The Inn at Seagrove is another heartwarming addition to Rachel Hanna’s series. With its charming small-town setting and lovable characters, it delivers the same feel-good atmosphere that fans have come to expect. The character development is solid, and the pacing keeps the story engaging from start to finish. It’s a delightful, uplifting read that leaves you feeling cozy and content. A solid 4-star book, perfect for when you want something light and enjoyable.

Rachel Hanna writes about very real and relatable characters that live in the lowcountry of SC in an enchanting island town called Seagrove. This particular episode moved a little slower than her other books that I’ve read but I’m sure I will reference this installment again and again. Be prepared to fall in love with the fictional town of Seagrove.

The 4th installment in this series. I think I’ve had enough for now. Read the first 4. The locale is a picturesque marshland in So Carolina. The characters are entertaining but at times the women in it are very frustrating, trying my patience, in this familial domestic tale.

My favorite character in this series is Dixie, the oldest woman in the group. She owns the book store in this quaint little town and was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s. She is not a part of the main family featured in this series, but has become more of a mother figure to the protagonists of these stories. She has met a man through her Parkinson’s rehab and given a second chance at love.

These are small installments, about 140 pages, easily read in an afternoon or two. I found them predictable but pleasant for the most part. Easy reading.

Book 1: The Beach House - Julie finds out about her husband’s infidelity, mistress, and 6 month old son. She moves to Seagrove where she has bought a fixer upper, sight unseen. She meets Dawson and hires him to renovate the house. She meets Dixie (an older, eccentric southern lady with no filter who owns a bookstore) and begins working part time in the store.

Book 2: Sunsets and Second Chances - Julie’s sister Janine has come to live with her and starts a relationship with William, Dixie’s estranged son, while he simultaneously works to repair the relationship with his mother.

Book 3: This book sees both of Julie’s daughters come to Seagrove. Colleen, engaged to Peter, brings him to her mother’s house to meet her family and they are not receptive. Ultimately, Colleen decides the relationship is not right for her, breaks it off, and stays in Seagrove, getting a job with a local law firm helping with domestic violence cases.
Meg, comes back from Paris, pregnant. Hides the pregnancy, but Janine, Dixie, and Colleen all know before Julie which cause a rift in those relationships with Julie. Meg considers adoption but ultimately decides to keep her baby.

Book 4: The Inn at Seagrove. Dixie meets Harry at a Parkinson’s support group and falls in love. They plan to travel in his motor home in the new year.
Tucker asks Colleen to marry him but she’s not ready and tells him no.
William takes a big promotion in Texas, leaving Janine behind and heartbroken but he returns on the night of the masquerade ball.
SuAnn comes to town, opens a bakery and after talking with Dawson and Dixie, tries to build better relationships with her daughters.
Meg gets help for her postpartum depression and makes a friend, Darcy, at her group support group.

The Inn At Seagrove by Rachel Hanna
South Carolina Sunsets #4
196-page Kindle Ebook

Genre: Women's Fiction > Chick Lit; Romance > Contemporary Romance; Family

Featuring: South Carolina, Multiple POVs, No Recap, Island Life, Sisters, Mothers, New Baby, Stupidity, Adult Tantrums, Links to Other Books

Rating as a movie: PG-13 for adult situations

My rating: DNF @ Ch. 2 page 18

My thoughts: 🔖Page 18 of 196 Ch. 2 - I immediately remembered why I quit this series. I need to start reading my reviews before getting books. I already downloaded books 4-8 and I hate to waste my libraries' money. I know it won't make a difference if I return books unread but it is a waste. As stupid as I think these characters are the stories are short and parts were good. I guess I'll give it another chance.

Why I quit: The more I thought about it I was just thinking about how many chapters I should read before I throw in the towel in the morning. That's a bad sign and one person is waiting on this book they shouldn't have to wait till tomorrow. Ultimately this is my fault for not remembering I hated this series and assuming I was taking a break from too much cheese. These books are predictable and overwritten. My bad.

Recommend to others?: Nope. January, do not resuscitate this series! You don't like the characters or dialogue, it hurts your head.

THIS REVIEW HAS SPOILERS.
I gave the previous 3 books a 5-star rating. This one I only gave a 4 because there seemed to be much more heartache and less happy romance. I also thought it was a little short for all the various things going on with the characters. I also didn't like that it seems the author has written Dixie out of the series. She may still be in it but not as a main character since she will be travelling the world with her new beau. I did like how the story included that Meg had postpartum depression. It helps to reduce stigma when very common things like postpartum is normalized. I was already really glad to see Dawson reopened the Inn. I was very displeased to read Julie and Janine's mother moved to Seagrove. Hopefully she can grow and change and be the mother they need her to be. Looking forward to book 5, I can only assume the wedding will be Will and Janine's. I need to find a copy of the next 7 books, but I refuse to pay the asking price for such small books. I got the first 4 secondhand for 50 cents apiece. I agree with many of the reviews that these first 4 books could have definitely been one book, which I would have happily spent $20 on. But I refuse to spend $12 - $15 on a 140-page book.

The Inn at Seagrove is the 4th book in the South Carolina Sunsets Series by Rachel Hanna.  Once again Ms. Hanna wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page.  This was a quick and delightful read.  I was able to read it in one sitting.  This is the 4th book in this series and I highly recommend you read the first three since this book continues right where book three left off.  The story is very well written and the characters are well developed.  Ms. Hanna’s descriptions are so vivid you feel you are right there with the characters. I highly recommend this book and series. I'm excited to see what she has in store for us next!

Reading The Inn At Seagrove is like returning home and catching up with all the people you love. Julie and Dawson are very much together. Meg and Christian are navigating the challenges of being new parents. Colleen and Tucker are incredibly sweet together. Janine and Will have a few bumps in the road and Dixie finds love. Such a heart-warming story with many happy lives.

One of the things I respect the most about Rachel Hanna is her ability to tackle taboo topics and bring them to light. Post-partum depression is no joke and can easily be pushed aside as a new mom being overwhelmed and sleep deprived. Shopping addictions and hoarding are also topics that are not talked about but are very real and have ruined lives. Bravo for bringing these topics into the conversation!

This was book 4 of the Seagrove/ South Carolina series written by Rachel Hanna. Although the plot is simple and very much like a typical Hallmark movie, the characters and the setting are likable. Book 4 finds Julie and Dawson getting closer. Dawson is working on reopening the Seagrove Inn. Julie’s daughters are now nearby. Meg is having trouble coping with her new baby. Colleen now has a position she loves. Dixie has a secret she is not ready to share and William may have broken Janine’s heart. Much to everyone’s chagrin, Sue Ann is back. The series is an easy read. As with all Hallmark type movies, I can see where the plot is going. However, I like the characters enough to find out how they get there.

still good reading in Book 4

This had a tough beginning regarding postpartum depression, but it was real and honest and the mother sought support. I think that’s what I love most about the South Carolina series… each of the characters have their flaws, but they try to genuinely be good people at some point. Not all of life turns out that way but in these books it’s so refreshing. Even the characters who seem like they’ll never change seem to better themselves, as I think we should all try to do, although in the real world, that doesn’t happen as fast or seem as possible at times. This reading is a pleasant escape to a place where characters want to be their best selves, and after reading each book in this series I feel more hopeful for people in the real world.

ARC for honest review with no compensation received from Readerlinks

The Inn at Seagrove is book 4 in the South Carolina Sunset series by Rachel Hanna.

So much is happening in this book but you will see it as real life and how it unfold…Julie and Dawson are together, Meg and Christian are trying to navigate parenthood but Meg is having trouble, Colleen and Tucker are getting closer until Tucker wants more then Colleen is willing to give right now, Janine and William hit a major speedbump and Dixie may have found what she has been missing for a long time...

Can’t wait for the next book in the series to see where Ms. Hanna takes these people as they journey through life...

A Light and Romantic Read

I was offered an opportunity to read this title by the author in exchange for my honest review.

Every now and then I like to read a story that is light, funny and with interesting characters. "The Inn at Seagrove" definitely falls into that category.

The author did an amazing job at presenting her characters POV and their personality in such a way that a reader finds them believable.

The storyline flows and, though there is no mystery or intrigue, kept me interested and engaged.

I recommend this title to anyone who reads this genre and appreciates a clean and romantic story about family, friends and small town living.

Another easy and fun read by Rachel Hanna. This one is chock full of changes, both good and bad, for the main characters- Julie and boyfriend Dawson, Janine and Dixie's son William, Dixie with a new boyfriend, SueAn with marital issues, Julie's kids with love. I really enjoy these books and feel bonded with the characters - but at less than 200 pages each, these four books really should have been combined into two or even one long book and shame on the publisher for publishing such short novels. I'm not a fan of the cliffhanger endings although the books themselves are fun to read. I'll wait for the next one from the library rather than purchasing from Amazon.

I love this series! Clean, small town romance with characters who have real-life problems, get blind sided now and then and don't always make the best decisions in their lives. Always unexpected story lines in each book and a bit of intrigue on how things will end. When I find enjoyable people in a book, it's always a great pleasure when that book is part of a series and I can watch my new "friends" grow and experience life. Julie has several curve balls thrown at her in this book with regard to her adultish daughters and knot-headed ex. I highly recommend the series, but treat yourself and start with book 1.

Yes, don't bother with this series at all. I have read enough to know I don't care who is getting married in the next book.

Ok. My problem with this book is Julie's youngest daughter just gave birth to a new baby she is young, wouldn't know everything that are a must to do when becoming a new mother. Julie has to be asked to go over to the house to check on her???? What is that? I ask you!!! its like the baby isn't her granddaughter at all but someone else's grandchild.

well, that certainly sets the tone of the book and I am done after I finish this book. No more annoying, uninspiring books.

In this fourth installment, we are introduced to new characters and more drama. It's truly a story one can't just stop reading. It's like a TV series playing while I'm reading. I can't ever wait to see what happens next. I usually get bored with these longer series, but this one I keep finding myself wanting more. I have listened to this series on audiobook format through Hoopla, and this is perfect for me. The person narrating this series is perfect. Hearing her many different voices causes me vivid pictures of each character. I get to just sit back, close my eyes, and watch the story unfold as someone reads to me. I absolutely recommend this series.

Second Chances!

Loved this book and can't wait for the next installment! Seems like everyone is getting a second chance, hope they get it right this time! Why do we waste so much time in our lives? Honesty is the best policy, we need to be honest with ourselves and each other! It all comes done to love, for our selves, our families and our lives! Of course, living in such a beautiful place and really getting to know one another is so very important in figuring out what and who really matters!

As much as the last book annoyed me, that’s how much I LOVED this book. It introduced Julie’s Mom. Unfortunately, I saw a LOT of myself in her. Controlling. Wanting to know every detail of her children & grandchildren’s lives. Where as the characters in the book were annoyed by her, I understood her! AND, her storyline HELPED me see some things I have been blind to (as she was). I want to buy the book now so I can have it on my shelf as a reminder to myself how important it is to recognize how I’m behaving and when I need to change my behavior!

This series is like reading a Hallmark movie (and who doesn’t enjoy a corny Hallmark movie every once in awhile). The series lighthearted stories are a nice break after reading more intense books. I enjoy the continued story of the various family members but do wish the author combined some books in the series into less editions.
They are short reads and truly could have been a series of 6 (or less) instead of 12, but I am hooked and will continue reading.
Great for taking on a flight since you’ll have it read before you land.

This continues the story of Julie and those that have come close to her. Her friend Dixie has a hidden boyfriend, her sister boyfriend William gets a job offer and it appears Janine and him may be over. Julie's boyfriend decides to open the Inn and prepares for it.
Like another reader I like that Julie the heroine, is an older women starting over fearlessly. I like that that she is proceeding forward.
I have enjoyed this book series very much.

This gets a 3.5 star rating rounded up to 4 for Goodreads. Overall, I enjoy this series and seeing what happens next for this group of characters. I struggle a bit though with a couple of the characters and their drama/selfishness/immaturity. This has been an element in books 3 and 4 for me and I hope it's better in the rest of this series. I really like this series but the drama and pettiness of a couple of the characters drives me nuts.

I absolutely adore this series. Rachel Hanna keeps me so entertained with each of these books.
The characters all fit together so perfectly and as she has the story so that I can follow the story from book to book.
Reading these books in order are the way to go so that you will know who the characters are and how their lives are growing and changing.
Thank you Rachel Hanna for giving your readers a great escape and time to enjoy reading the story about this family and town!
