The world the Assets leapt through time to save was far from perfect, but even it was better than the one they find upon returning. All the humans outside the Compound have either been killed or turned. Those living inside are starving. Everything else lies in ruin. The future has changed. And so has Eve. Will she be strong enough to stop Victor and Kael before they destroy them all? Or will she become the monster foretold in the past, and singlehandedly usher in a new age of terror?

RONE Award-winning author Casey Bond lives on a rural farm in West Virginia with her husband and their two beautiful daughters. She writes phoenixes – gloriously flawed and morally gray characters that fiercely rise from the ashes of their circumstances.

Worldbuilding is one of her favorite pastimes. She thinks thunderstorms are better than coffee and that watching a meteor shower is the closest thing to magic you might ever see. She’s a firm believer that every amazing book needs a world you want to wrap yourself in, a character you want to win, and a love you would fight for.

Casey is the author of When Wishes Bleed, Gravebriar, House of Eclipses, and Where Oceans Burn.

Always be ready to feed

Though I am sad that this series is ending, I am very happy with the way it ended.

The characters were still as amazing as always. Eve became a powerful force to be recogned with. And the story between Eve and Enoch was magical. Their bond continued to be strong. Along with all the other characters. Eve's feelings flowed off the pages of the story and kept me continuing to turn each page to see how things would turn out.

The story-line was phenomenal. There was a lot of action, suspense and plot twists that I didn't see coming. Bond has outdone herself once again by weaving together another magnificent story. But don't take my word for it...purchase your copy today. If you are new to the series, start with High Stakes first. I highly recommend it!

Well how the last cliffhanger killed me ...I’m now speaking from the dead hahaha damn it the book already starts with so much action ... the angst is killing me all again hahaha what a dammed wonderful book .

“I’d never seen anything like it. I thought I was a keen strategist, but Eve was a force of nature, a catastrophe lying in wait.”

Ah ! Thank goddess Eve still has her mind ....but damn her for not talking with Enoch before assuming the worse , poor Enoch the guy is literally a sucker for pain . OMG Eve’s memories ... Kael is horrible ...good gods I can’t believe it ...this isn’t true I’m serious, THIS CAN’T BE .... damn it all to hell the things are REALLY complicated now ... I’m not kidding I’m really worried . No... I got to the conclusion that Victor is worse than Kael ...

Look I’m really pissed how Maru and Titus are all “Enoch is evil” Seriously the guy did nothing but save these ungrateful assholes every time , their dislike about Enoch is getting really old already and doesn’t even has a foundation anymore , they have to understand that Eve isn’t theirs f*co she is a person and they speak about her like she is a f*cking damsel in distress, they have to f*cking understand that Enoch wants to help too !!! And she loves him for gods sake !!!

I feel like this book has some ... “cuts”? Its so fast paced with so much action that sometimes feel like we lost some kind of information...so i go back and read again but guess what ? The complementary information doesn’t exist , and this doesn’t happen just in this book , I’m just seeing it now because I’m a little pissed .

Ok ....why Eve is freaking out ? Ok ok I understand ...a little but damn girl , and Asa being the voice of reason ? Ha! I told you guys he has Loki’s syndrome hahahaha and Asa is such a asshole the best of all , his bickering with Enoch ? Epic . Why this can’t be a RH ? Eve could have Enoch and Asa and Titus too damn it . But the series was marvelous and I loved every second , Eve pissed me a little and all but I forgive her and ... damn it just perfect , and I still can’t believe that I didn’t find this series before hahahaha .

Good series.

The one character popping up at the end, and being merged with the group so easily... made me think she was going to work against them. But it panned out.

The ending felt unreal. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop.

With how she had dreams, memories, and visions. I was thinking Eve would wake up, and things would fall apart. I guess I felt paranoid like Eve was.

I do worry one day Asa will abuse his voice. But hopefully Eve will become immune like abrahm did if that were to happen.

The characters took a few leaps of faith that seemed destined to burn them.

I worried the black suit would turn off her emotions and make her go dark.

Other bits seemed unfinished. I'm left feeling theres more to the story. I'll take a happily ever after hopefully though. I just wish Asa wouldn't have said that last part. It makes me feel like things aren't fully settled.

This was great. I was not expecting to love Asa more than any characters here. He had the best character development throughout the series in my opinion or I guess everybody just underestimated him. The ending of Victor was abrupt but more like I was really thrilled by it at all. I guess expected a lot. All in all this is good. There are some inconsistecies with Eve and Enoch but then it was justified by their character. I was confused in the middle but then gyrating towards the end explained more about the flow of the story.

Pro: It was a good series that made me want to keep turning the page.

Con: How is it everything conveniently works out to where the people who end up dying are the characters we hate? No good people die after all they've been through? It's not realistic. And I hate that Titus thinks he can't be with Eve bc she's a vampire and he's a human and it would be too tempting for her to not feed from him, but yet the author allowed Maru (human) to end up with Yarrow (vampire) like it was no problem. Plus, they signed a treaty so that excuse should go out the window. Also, it got confusing when it kept jumping from character to character. I understand she needed several character point of views bc of the time gaps, but focus on 2 maybe 3 characters to switch from instead of a ton of different point of views. Plus, it got confusing when the author didn't specify whether it was Enoch from the past or present.

I enjoyed this series overall, but I found quite a bit of problems with the plot.

High Treason is the fifth and final book in the High Stakes Saga and cannot be read as a stand alone. It begins where book four left off.

As all of the Assets finally make it back to their time, they arrive to find things even worse than when they first jumped. Everything lies in ruin and most humans have either been killed, turned into vampires or are starving in Victor Danone’s compound.

Eve isn’t the same, either. And her mission is ending Kael Frost and Victor Dantone. She’s torn between wanting justice and freeing those left in the city from their rule and becoming the monster she saw in her vision if she allows herself to tap into all she is to take them down.

Victor also has a few tricks up his sleeve and is ready for all that the Nephilim siblings and Eve are ready to throw at him.

Which is the side of good? Is there a way for peace between the humans and the Nephilim and those they’ve sired? Will Eve retain her humanity now that eerything has changed and embracing her inner monster may be the only way to save those she cares about most?

High Treason was action packed from the first to the last page. There were so many shocking moments and reveals and twists and turns that my head was spinning in the best of ways. Readers won’t know what hit them.

I love that the author finishes out every characters story (both good and bad) so that readers who have worked through the series feel completely satisfied with loose ends being tied up . . . and, I will say that it doesn’t necessarily wrap up as I thought it would, and I still feel totally satisfied and actually pretty darn excited that I had to read to the end to see how things would play out.

Casey L. Bond outdid herself with this series and I loved every minute of it. 5 stars!

Casey Bond bends time to her will with her last novel in the High Stakes Saga, High Treason. You must absolutely read each one of these in order to follow along with Bond’s riveting tale of time travel, vampires and a post apocalyptic world that’ll have your imagination turning.

In High Treason, Bond finally brings our assets back through time to current day. Many things have changed, evil has sunk to new lows and the possibilities are endless.

Bond keeps you guessing with each new installment to this storyline and High Treason was no different. In this novel it’s very much a tangled web that Kael and Victor have woven leaving only Eve and Enoch to unravel. Desperate times call for desperate measures and Bond has no issue taking you along for the ride. This novel was nothing, yet everything I expected. Every twist and turn, good and evil, brought me to an all new level of excitement and fandom to this series. If you haven’t ever had a chance to read one of Bond’s imaginative series, now is your chance. Don’t miss out what happens when one commits the ultimate treason.

**HIGHLY recommended that you read the previous novels**

This is the fifth and final book in Casey's High Stakes series and it rounds out the saga nicely. Each installment has been better than the last and this one is a wild ride from start to finish.

Eve, Tidus, Abram, and Maru are all back in their present time, and old allegiances are tested as those around them put long laid plans into play.

There are come crazy reveals and even crazier situations. This book doesn't waste any time getting started (which is why I stated that it is highly recommended to read the previous ones) and keeps going fast the entire way through.

Casey has designed a world and characters that are familiar but not overplayed and has given us a truly fun ride (fall) through time.

High Treason is book 5 in The High Stakes Saga and isn’t a stand-alone! You’ve been warned.
We pick up where we left off in the previous book, another time jump this time to the present. Eve is even more dangerous but I’m glad she kept her spirit and humanity. I feel it’s important that even though she’s been changed she hasn’t changed. I like that we find out more about her and that even though the Saga centers around her that this book was truly her own.
Again multiple POVs that enhance the story and gives different sides to what is happen. It’s packed with action probably more than the previous. I enjoy reading paranormals and I’m glad that this one is completely different from others I have read. As always Casey does not disappoint.

I flew thru the book so fast and didn’t even realize it! Was so good, and so glad they we’re free in the end and Enoch and Eve are together, lol and Asa(really like him, he really started out i hated him, but in the end, really like him) and with their friends❤️❤️❤️❤️

It's bittersweet when you come to the end of a series. I have been following Eve and Enoch since the beginning. I had some theories that didn't come true, but that's the sign of a really amazing author. When they can write an amazing book and you try to predict what's coming but you find you're constantly surprised! I love it. This series is one I'll keep on my shelf to reread. I hope to see more of this world in the future. Definitely 5 stars and 2 thumbs way way up.

So sad to see this series end. I absolutely loved it. I am dressing as Eve for Halloween this year, that is how much I enjoyed this series. She did well on the ending. The whole storyline for this series was really great, even though I am not a fan of sci-fi but she put a little in here but not enough to lose my attention. I would love to see another series like this be taken in a different direction.

What a brilliant ending to the series. The author did an excellent job keeping me in the dark of what was happening in the story. I'll miss them all. Enoch is a wonderfully written character. He feels like you know him. Eve is one hell of a bad ads female.
The rest of the characters are well fleshed out.
Thank you for a terrific ending!!!
