This book will make you laugh, cry, and even make you want to slap some sense into some of the characters. Filled with drama, sex, and a little bit of rachetness.
A good read not your typical drug dealing thug storyline. Breesha ,nae, and mani are all different chicks. breesha is a go getter but her heart is on lock until dontae enters the pic. Nae has it all a husband, house, money,an a child but she's lonely as a housewife,so she goes to extreme to get sincere attention. Mani is spoiled nerd kinda wanting her parents approval for everything but meeting rashard she comes out her shell only to fall in love and become pregnant. Shocking ending tho, is imani that dependent on her mother's approval? Is breesha & dontae going to survive baby mama drama?
This was a rough read, you really couldn’t connect with the characters and all the brand name dropping or name dropping overall was annoying. When reading you want to visualize your perception of the character but when you give a name as reference it may not be a good thing. I was so tired of the hair in the middle of the back, mess that it was just again...annoying.
This book was good. I like Breesha and Donte relationship and the way she bound with his daughter. Sharice her mother is crazy. I also like Imani and Rashard relationship. I'm about to start 2 to see what happen next.
There was something off about the pace of this book, I can’t really describe it. It’s like some tv show pilots where there’s a significant amount of time giving the viewer all the information and then the pilot just wraps it up quickly... That’s how I felt reading this, but still it was a really good read. Very entertaining!!
I think this was a good read. I was most definitely in my feelings though with the way Sharice felt about her child and the way she treated her. I was like:
I feel like Imani definitely need to watch her back around Mark because he give me rapey vibes, if I can call it that.
Diamond Johnson has the potential to be a GREAT author her editor is not doing what they are supose to do to many grammatical errors. Also this book was a bit rushed there are 3 couples so I think there relationships should have been told in more depth .
This was a good book. The only problem I had was all the dam errors, this Author really need to hire a dam editor, because at one point it was getting me so frustrated. But I did enjoy the story and can't wait to read book 2
I justice Diamond Johnson!!! I know this book is old but I am definitely feeling the characters. These couples give me life and the girls are really something else. I love how they get along with each other but also keep each other sane. Now bring in the men and this book just flows. I love the relationships that each guy have with each girl. They are all so different but stand by the same principles. Sharice is really pissing me off for real. On to see what happens!!!
This is some kind of series already. I believe a person so do what makes them happy not what they feel will make their parents happy. Imani deserve happiness but she shouldn't stop being happy on the account of her mom not happy with the decisions she's make she is grown n needs to live her life. Nae she is something else Sincere had me cracking up when he came home from his trip bet Nae won't act up again will she loll. Anyways yall need to read this book it's off the chain.
This story moved well. The characters were entertaining and the series held my interest. The men were brash and not always understanding as evident with Rashard and how he addressed Imani at one point during the series when they both suffered trauma or Sincere and Nae's marriage and its lack of emotional depth and understanding. I feel we only skimmed the surface with those two. However, there may be a book that preceded this one that provided the backstory to Sincere and Nae. At any rate, the author used the tried and true formula that has gained her loyal readers and a new fan. I enjoyed the series.
This story intrigues me from the beginning because of Imani. I love her story because she represents a lot of us as young women, growing up trying to balance school and a love life. Now it seems the drama is about to really pop off. I'm just hoping everyone order their steps accordingly. We shall see in the next installment. Great Read! ReneeG 👍
Bria,Nae and Imani are cousins that have a bond like sisters. I love it but the men in their lives are thug businessmen. I love this book already because again it’s all about real life experiences and although there’s a bun in the oven I think it’s still good so far. Book 2 where are you
This book gave me all I expect from a Diamond Johnson book. Pure page turner, almost a guilty pleasure like watching a “trash” reality show. I’m excited to get into part two. I would appreciate though if Ms. Johnson could write a few more standalone books because I don’t always want to commit to an entire series. Really enjoyed this book though!
Yessssss thugs need love too I hope Sinerce tries harder to continue keeping his family cause if not he going to loose his wife with trying to keeping her pregnant ans being stuck at home I can’t wait to read part 2 to see how the cousins will make their relationship work with the men in their lives
Adore I adore this writer. Her characters are so sexy ,and these guys have so much swag it's ridiculous. lol Her sex scenes are out of this world. Nothing like a beautiful man with a big pretty stick that knows how to use it. lol Great read.
I'm new to Diamond Johnson's writing. But I can say from what I've read so far I am a fan. So far I am loving the style the love story is not over powered by drug dealing and killing. Keep up the good work.
Ive read one of Diamond latest books before this one. I just this book was when she first started writing because it’s a major difference. This book is kinda slow but the characters are interesting so I’ll move on to the second book and see if I should continue reading.
I can’t stand a lil girl like Sharice, who takes her anger out on a child. I hope she gets everything that’s coming to here. Imani needs to understand that she’s grown and stop worrying about how other ppl feel.
I really love the flow of all three storylines from beginning to end. When I read all stories I feel that everyone is very complacent in where they are or their significant other feels that way. Even though there are minor changes in their journey their minds are still at a stand still in their thinking, but their actions and reactions, whether positive or negative has to take place for their paths to be cleared from bumps, lumps and twisted turns. You know, everyday life lessons. All I know is the drama and struggle seems real. I'm to next installment. ReneeG 👍
Loved the book.I swear I know how women feel when they don't have that love from a mother and they end up finding it in a man.I have found it in my fiancé.I love the relationship that Dontae and Breeshae have.Im glad she found a guy that can tame her.The relationship that Breeshae has wit his daughter is so cute I love it.Then Sin and Nae are so cute I love how he treats her but he needs to focus on his family.Imani and Rashard are cray.I can't believe that ending it was crazy
I like Sincere but Nae was get on my nerves whining about him being home stuck under her, she became insecure but I'm glad things are going better I think he only want another baby so Nae can stay home...I'm glad Shard got Mani out her shell but if she's going to get rid of their baby to satisfy her mom she need her ass beat...I love Breesha and Tae together he just needs to get custody of Bria bc her mother doesn't want her.
Omg I've really been sleeping on you in the past couple of days I've read four of your book and I love all of them .I love how real they are and that the story is something that we all can relate to now I can't wait to read part two cause I hope she did I do what I think she did
I love reading leo Sullivan books because they are hard to put down once you start reading them. This book was good it was about three cousin and there issues that went in there daily life and there relationship with there men's. I can't wait to book two comes out. Keep the good work up
Imani needs to grow up and stop living her mother's dream. Rashard change a lot for her spoiled self. Sincere needs to let his wife Nae have her career. Bree and Dontae both need to slap some sense into his daughter's mother
