What she doesn't expect is her attraction to Reid Sinclair, the handsome guy next door. The last thing she needs is another romance! Worse yet, her best friend has a crush on him. In her heart, she knows she should avoid him, but Reid desperately needs her help to solve a problem... Who killed Essie Anderson? Though the local authorities have ruled her death an accident, the question haunts Reid Sinclair night and day. He's convinced Essie died from foul play, but he doesn't have much to go on. When Alana Morgan consents to team up with him--as friends only--they agree to keep their investigation secret until they have enough evidence to go to the police. Can he keep his feelings for Alana a secret as well?
I’m a USA Today bestselling author of sweet romance, cozy mystery and historical suspense, but honestly, I’ll read just about anything if it’s a good story. I live in Minnesota with my husband, Steve, who works as a travel agent, and our three naughty puddy-tats—Chip, Dale, and Babygirl.
I love to travel and go on cruises and have explored places throughout Central America, Europe, and the Middle East, but at the end of the day, there’s still no place like home—or my own bed… even if I have to share it with the cats.
I was enjoying this little murder mystery. My main critique is wanting more detail or character/event development. Also, the reveal of the answer felt like a little bit of a reach, like there was almost no way the reader could have guessed it before it was revealed. Otherwise I enjoyed this quick read.
