The Trump Century: How Our President Changed the Course of History Forever

Rate this book

Fox Business’s #1 personality shows how Donald Trump has redefined how every politician and public figure will interact with the world—for the next hundred years.

In the early 2000s, America was in economic decline, under attack, and weighed down by one-sided agreements. Locked into a status quo, politicians spent their days catering to Big Money and mimicking the coastal Elite.

In 2016, Donald Trump changed all that. He remade the American economy according his own rules, setting the nation back on a path to prosperity. Dismissing the accepted ideas about employment, the Fed, trade, and international alliances, he has irrevocably changed the field that America and the rest of the world will play on for the next hundred years. Love him or hate him, everyone is influenced by him. He’s the wave of the future.

Now, in The Trump Century, Lou Dobbs reveals the next items on the Trump agenda, giving a glimpse of what this most unprecedented of presidents will do in the coming years. Few others have had the president’s attention or helped shape the directions of his action as Dobbs has.

The Trump Century opens a window into Trump’s thinking on the economy, foreign policy, and America’s security, including its borders. It shows how the administration will continue the successes of Trump’s first term and build on those achievements. As Dobbs makes clear, the journey to make America great again has only just begun.

Detailed review of President Trump’s first term as President. Many facts of/about actual events and outcomes. The China tariffs chapter was good but also complex. Learning about exact company (Whirlpool for instance) subsequent placements etc.- all 5 star. Jobs chapter was filled with information, stats, research demographics to what has occurred. I was shocked at how many able bodied Americans under 65 refuse even part time work. And percentages of certain necessary products which no longer were being USA manufactured (too many to mention, but pharmaceutical, appliances, steel etc. are just a few) and now are. Some to greater than 50% of baseline "before" 1000's and 1000's of entities moved for cheap labor. All that information was enthralling. To me it was- as I have seen over and over again personally the skeletons of what American manufacturing had become in my state and all the states surrounding mine. MI and IN most especially. Now, very different than what it was just 5 years ago.

The Forbidden Facts chapter was 5 stars. I myself would love to know how many humans live in the United States illegally. And how many did so by just disregarding their visa permissions.

Overall it had some excellent personal eyes copy as well. And a terrific record of all the venal viciousness that Trump has been up against during each structural and policy change he has assured and succeeded to occur. Some of the Supreme Court copy segments were hard for me to cognate. Law slivers of difference!

Media and the oligarchies of tech are detailed for their attempts against every Trump direction. This is covered to particulars well.

I would recommend this book to those who want criteria of vast changes that Trump has made from 2016 until the present.

Obviously from the title of the book, this is not a balanced treatment but if you watch the mainstream media, you will get some balance in your perspective in reading it. I especially enjoyed the anecdotes and the chapters on the Fed and social media. I don’t understand why China is given most favored nation status when they are destroying the Uyghurs and disappearing people in Hong Kong.

Back in the day Lou Dobbs was an Economics ignoramus who was ready to take a subject in which other journalists did not even grasp the vocabulary. Over the decades Dobbs is equally ignorant in many more fields. In this volume he will showcase the 4-year century.

It listed a lot of the good things that President Trump has accomplished. But while reading it, I had a great deal of distrust for the author who said: "He [Donald Trump] also is the greatest president of the United States of all time. The GOAT among POTUS greats." in the introduction... and again a very similar statement on page 1. I sense he was imitating the president's predilection to hyperbole... but this certainly does not belong in a book purporting to evaluate the achievements of the administration. I read everything from that point on wondering how much the author was exaggerating. It's not that I disagreed with much of what he wrote, I just found it unhelpful.

Anybody who reads this book will defiantly vote for Donald Trump! Lou Dobbs made this book very interesting and really explained how the president deals with China and trade with other countries. He also, showed the reader, the issues still facing the country and how our current president is the person who is best to handle them. This book is very informative about the issues that our country faces today and tomorrow. A must read!

This was an enjoyable read but, I think, for the wrong reasons.

Thought it would be good to read a book praising Trump. It was obvious that this was the one for me as evidenced by this quote:

President Trump is the most misunderstood, mischaracterized, and unfairly demonized POTUS ever to occupy the office. He also is the greatest president of the United States of all time. The GOAT among POTUS greats.”

“Meanwhile, the president’s style as a ferocious counterpuncher was another of his many strengths. When the haters attacked him with vituperative venom, he doubled down and slapped them back. The clashes were epic, and this made Trump’s victories all the more remarkable—and all the more delightful, inspiring even more fervent devotion from his fans.” Great, a president who gains “fans” through insults.

“Just as important, President Trump gave us back our swagger.” always good to have a bit of swagger!

“You will note in this book that I use the terms “Wuhan virus,” “China virus,” and the like many times. My point is that we should refuse to surrender to verbal brainwashing and that no change in terminology can hide the truth it is intended to hide: that the virus came from China.
The new word game was a cunning parody of the woke ultra-Left and Fake News in this country. Many viruses carry place names: Ebola (a river in the Democratic Republic of Congo), Spanish flu, Zika (a rain forest in Uganda), MERS (Middle East respiratory syndrome), Norovirus (Norwalk, Ohio). Plenty of diseases, too: Lyme disease (Connecticut), German measles, Coxsackievirus, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and the Guinea worm (for a spot on the west coast of Africa, a phrase coined in the seventeenth century).” Interesting.

“In the 2020s, I would bet, we will see a vaccine and effective treatments to turn the Wuhan virus into an almost forgotten, old-world malady like the measles.” I would agree that in the 2020s there will be an effective vaccination. Dobbs is giving it nine years longer than Trump is.

“Once again, the chief justice had managed to clone himself to vote in two ways: he had ruled with the four other Republican appointees that asking the question was legal, and he had defected to the other side and the four Democratic appointees in ruling that it was wrong to ask the question. Pick a side, please, Mr. Chief Justice.” It is not a question of “sides” it is a question of law. That is the problem with the Supreme Court, it should be above politics!

“President Trump can be brash, sometimes frequently so. He is now the recognized champion of rough-and-tumble American free enterprise and capitalism. He is unafraid to thank God and pray for His help when the going gets tough—when the tests become vast, complex, and daunting even for him. When talking to the American people, he forgoes sugarcoating his language or his meaning. He talks in the direct, straightforward language of the plainspoken American, using short Anglo-Saxon words that carry meaning and weight and that resist obfuscation and create clarity.” Trump creates clarity! Read a transcript of one of his speeches at a rally....here is an example

One thing with me, the nice part, I went through it. Now, they say I'm immune. I can feel -- I feel so powerful. I'll walk into that audience. I'll walk in there. I'll kiss everyone in that audience. I'll kiss the guys and the beautiful women and then everybody. I'll just give you a big fat kiss. No, but there is something nice -- I don't have to be locked up in my basement and I wouldn't allow that to happen anyway.

I guess it IS clear!

The book was written before the election and before the censorship by big tech against conservative voices.
Lou Dobbs details the accomplishments of the president while quoting his many critics. In every instance, the president's instincts were spot on.
The book also goes into detail the rise of China and the effects on the US. I learned how the Chinese force US companies to partnership with Chinese companies to avoid tariffs but in the meantime the Chinese steal intellectual property, produce cheap products themselves and flood global markets, eliminating manufacturing in the US and elsewhere. The billions of dollars from the 2009 stimulus package for green energy ended up in China, as US solar companies set up shop only to have China steal the knowledge and to eventually control over 70 percent of the market. When the US put tariffs on the panels in 2011, China moved production to Taiwan or Mexico, bypassing the tariffs.
The book isn't just a history lesson on where the US went wrong, but how Trump fought to make it right and succeeded or was heading in that direction.
Another interesting tidbit was how the Fed kept rates at 0% throughout the Obama years while 8 times rates were hiked during the first 3 years of Trump! For the 1st time ever a President questioned their logic, only to be rebuked by the media, investment firms and economists alike. in 2019, the Fed, realizing their errors, reversed rates. Again Trump was right.
Oh what he accomplished for the economy and jobs! After the public was told by the media and Obama that manufacturing was not coming back, that the US was shifting to a service oriented nation, Trump brought back close to a million manufacturing jobs. Companies from overseas set up shop in the US. Wages increased. Black unemployment lowest in history.
Lou Dobbs also explains big tech control of content. It's quite disturbing to know that even when an exec tries to do the right thing and represent a conservative voice, the workforce at these big companies throw temper tantrums to the point it has to be shut down. Now that Trump did not get elected back, the monopoly will grow stronger and of course nothing will be done to even out the playing field for free conservative speech. The 3 big tech companies, Google, Facebook and Youtube reach billions of customers, and are protected by a few laws, one that prevents them from being responsible for what people say on their platform and another law from '96 that was passed to censor child pornography but now allows them to censor conservative views without repercussion.
Great book, look forward to lou dobbs on Newsmax. Hopefully.

This book should be required reading for every American of high school age or older. It would be a great chance for people to be educated by someone not tied to our left wing media or organizations tied to left wing agendas. Donald Trump is a true Patriot who loves this country and what it stands for. Lou Dobbs points out the many successes Trump has achieved in his short time as President. This includes taking control of our boarders to ensure people follow a legal process to enter this country. He also restructured trade agreements with China, Mexico and Canada to protect American companies and strengthen the future of American business growth and development. He did all this while fighting senseless battles led by the pouting leftists and lifetime politicians that couldn’t stand to watch a non-politician make things happen quickly and effectively, all for the benefit of all Americans.

Lou Dobbs reveals that in a time when the President was daily creating history with outstanding leadership for a healthy America, part of America never realized due to a lack of actual knowledge on these issues. While excelling in huge breaking economic/job numbers, the proof was reflected in the pocketbook where as currently Biden tells us our wallets lie and to believe what he's saying about it being the best it's ever been.
In this book Dobbs bravely, and accurately depicts what true Trump supporters were being suppressed of speaking while watching the true story as it happened. The MSM cherry picked limited information by removing what was said before, or after any statement or action to negatively picture the man opposing the deep state elites.
Sadly at times the Presidents own big mouth fueled by these lies of the medias ugliest censorship of basic, honest facts and actions frustrated conservatives daily. This book, in my own opinion takes us back to some of the main & largest issues the President excelled in but was not always given credit for. The book is the strong opinion of a Trump supporter who saw how the world literally changed before covid pandemic, in nations throughout the world by these America First policies.

Very well written, easy to read book addressing some of the successes and controversies of President Trump. The author both praised successes and criticized shortcoming, but did provide some insight on how the President worked. Also a very interesting section on Silicon Valley's control over the social media, the laws that affect social media and social media censorship, along with the difficulties dealing with monopolistic construct of the same. It also touched on the disparities of these companies services between the US and China

The Trump Century is a fantastic book that shows through economic statistics that Trump has changed America in the future. Lou Dobbs also demonstrates how President Trump was the most successful president any of us would have in our lifetimes. I liked the book and appreciated the information and statistics that Lou Dobbs used. Lou Dobbs also did a great job reading the book himself. This book is a real winner.

Fascinating read

Very informative and shocking. Covers everything from the election, trade, china, Wuhan virus, to mass censorship from Google, Facebook and Twitter. It's good to know the other side of a story. Behind the scenes and what any President or Prime minister of either party would be up against. Drop the hate, give it a read. It's good for everyone.

While the book does a good job of explaining Trump’s stand on important issues, the tone of the book was simply annoying- too panygerizing. At times the author just went on a rant, and never came back for the rest of the chapter. This almost reads like a court biographer chronicling his king’s rule in superlative terms-makes it hard to believe in the veracity of the writing.

Required reading for Americans who still give a damn

A sweeping overview of the President’s struggles and advantages of being an outsider to the Washington Swamp. The bold ways he bucked the business as usual mediocrity of the DC establishment and, against all expectations became the plain spoken President of the People.

Very Informative Read!

Lou Dobbs writes a spot on, knowledgeable, and factual book of our President Trump! I breezed through much of his financial data in that I had already watched most of it on Fox Business television.

This book is already somewhat out of date (published before the 2020 election), but still interesting- especially the explanations of policies on trade and China. I learned some things.

Started reading this before the election.
What I did not like is that Lou Dobbs seemed to constantly repeat himself chapter to chapter. It became tedious.
I did not complete this book before the election and so after the election was stolen from President Trump and the fraud Joe Biden is now occupying the White House, I lost interest in the book.
I gave it two stars due to Mr. Dobbs continually repeating himself.
