I was looking for an anthology of writings by some of the "founding" anarchists. This is a pretty good selection. There isn't much commentary. The section on Bakunin was confusing. While most of the founders had both biographical material and original writings, there weren't any original writing from Bakunin. The chapter about him presumed you already knew quite a bit about the Paris commune and about Marx. There were many vague areas to it. I enjoyed the chapter on Proudhon most. I skimmed the one on Kropotkin. Also, this work focuses on just the early anarchists. This was not a problem for me as I had already studied the 20th century Americans in some detail.

Essential. A classic here! I got lucky and found these ones on the cheap (hence the older 2 book format). Wonderful collections!
