Karl is shocked when Toni kidnaps a young woman to keep her imprisoned in the basement of their house. His brother is a sadist. He’s always been. Karl is torn between pity, emotional dependence on his brother, and the need to satisfy his own urges on pretty Laura, who sees in him the only hope of rescue. Will Karl do the right thing and help the girl escape, or will his dark side prevail?
Simone Trojahn knows how to write an extreme hardcore horror story.
I just finished " Basement Games " and I felt dirty . I think I will watch a cartoon to wash all that filth from my memory.
But I don’t regret having read this book. I wanted an extreme story and I had it .
The story is very well written. The characters are so realistic , I felt like I was reading a true story. They live in filth and they do horrible, and very disgusting things. Toni is the vilest , meanest character I read about , ever ! I will not say more about this book.
I highly recommend " Basement Games " to fan of hardcore extreme horror stories. I’m used to read extreme stories, but this one is something else. I think it’s the worst or the best, depends of the point of view. If you have triggers, or you are depressed, don’t read this book. You will need therapy , and I’m not exaggerating.
Holy fuck...... This was probably one of the most gritty brutal violent and sadistic books I've read. This was like Jack Ketchum's "The Girl Next Door" and Jonathan Butcher's "What Good Girls Do "amped up to 11. This was a fucking tough read and it was hard for to push through a lot of it. I don't think I've ever felt so bad for characters in a book before ..... Just fucking brutal. What made me give this 5 stars is the writing. You feel every character, every room, every scene, and the fact that it was such a difficult read. Simone Trojahn deserves way more recognition she is definitely an "exteme" horror writer and a damn good one. I will read her other 2 novels for sure. I recommend this to any extreme horror fan BUT this book will grind you down and make you question whether you should finish. This one will get a spot on my paperback shelf next to Butcher's "What Good Girls Do and Ketchum's " The Girl Next Door"
Brutal. Like the “girl next door” but a newer faster pace. There were parts in this story where I had to stop reading and take a break but the curiosity in me wanted to know how it ended. It was sick, horrifying, enraging, and depressing. Definitely not an easy read.
Talk about gross, vile, disturbing, insert any horrible adjective here. A brother kidnaps a chic, and the other brother has to come to terms with his own humanity. I loved the story. I just felt like some parts of it dragged on and on. It's still a wonderful read and I recommend it
Simone Trojahn sure knows how to destroy your inner soul with some brutal hard reading content. I've read other "Girl In The Basement" books...but this one absolutely beats all of them 💯% Toni's basement games do not award you any prizes or medals...just pain, blood, gore ,hunger, fear, destruction, suffering and near death. OMG...there was so much here to take in and digest...my emotions were all over the place, my head was spinning and my stomach came up into my mouth on more than a few occasions! I wanted to scream, cry, vomit, crawl into a ball with Laura and hug her to me...her pain and suffering never let up for one fucking minute and nor did mine!! A really really good read...a real page turner and the ending was not what I was expecting at all!! BRAVO... Ms Trojahn...you managed to do what other authors can not do to me....YOU GAVE ME SLEEPLESS NIGHTS!!! This book was awesome....Thank You! 👍 5 Well Earned 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟's (More If I Could) Because This Book Deserves Them!!
Omg omg omg ..WTF I just read..and I did this to my self for what ? … my inner conscious kept asking me Mel stop reading this u filthy bitch …😱😱..but I read the whole book in one sitting which I normally don’t do … Listen to me ..don’t read this book unless u can digest extreme horror and darkness ⚠️⚠️…this book is very very worst ..in fact I will say this book is every girl’s worst nightmare 🙏. Plz it has extreme rape scenes ..much worse than that ..it’s not ur usual dark books where hot guy kidnaps a girl and they have rough sex and fall in love at the end ..it’s pure horror and nothing else .. I can’t rate this book .. I m sorry 😞..it’s not like that I disliked it ..but I can’t make myself to like it as well …but I know it would be unfair to leave it without rating ..it was nothing but horrific torture in the entire book .. I have zero sympathy towards Karl .. the author has done great job in writing this book ..
I wanted to like this more than I did. I went in hoping it was everything I read it to be but it completely missed the mark for me. Karl just pee'd me off he was so meek and submissive I just couldn't get on board with him. There was a dead fat lady plus cats locked in a room for 90% of the book that no one did anything about what was the point of her I don't understand. The last 10/15% was forced into a weird reverse turn of abuse that just didn't make sense to me. The writing was good I just wanted something different.
Most brutal extreme book i have read. i had to put the book down a few times due to the extreme nature but at the same time did not want to stop reading as the story was so captivating. i think what is most scary is this could actually happen… probably has every trigger you can think of so reader beware, not for the faint hearted.
Brutal, realistic, haunting! My first book of hers and I immediately downloaded another one. This is so real it's scary, and the depictions of the characters, the feelings of being torn, trapped, betrayed- so good. Lots of s**, as a heads up
I think the translation from German to English probably has a lot to do with it but the dialogue in this was just utterly atrocious. But regardless I can't in good faith give it any sort of good review
The abuse in this book was very graphic and very brutal. I found Karl to be very frustrating, he really needed to grow a set, and when he finally did it was a bit too late. Overall the book was pretty good and kept me wanting to read more.
Oh my! This was a hard book to read! It is gory, brutal and down right wicked! If you love a good gory horror, you will definitely want to check this one out!
I haven't been so disturbed since reading Ryan C. Thomas' The Summer I Died or Nick Cutter's nihilistic anthem The Troop. Basement Games is the story of Laura Hermann, a teenage girl who gets kidnapped and sexually and mentally abused for months by psychopathic Toni Singer. The author displays Toni's levels of moral decay and depravity with ruthless precision and describes the victim's torments with sickening accuracy. No time is wasted, no punches pulled, and things are taken to the max fast. The reader will be left dizzy, shocked, and in tears, his comfort zone torn to shreds. Simon Trojan is Stephen King without the kid gloves. I look forward to more English translations from this hardcore writer.
