In junior high, I was that kid. You know the one. The one that was somehow always on the outside looking in. The one that never understood why people made it their life goal to find everything that was wrong with me. I was that kid that kids picked on to fit in with other kids. Somehow that all changed when I moved to a different school and discovered my hardened personality and inability to trust anyone made me mysterious and cool to people who didn't previously know me. And then I met the group and suddenly I wasn't alone in the world. Too bad that doesn't always keep the demons at bay and I still have days when I'm that kid waiting for someone to pull some kind of prank on me that will inevitably bring all my hard work crumbling down around me. So imagine how leery I am when Miller Walt, the man I've been crushing on for months and I'm pretty sure doesn't even know my name agrees to be my fake boyfriend to fool my cousin. And when I hear him and his brother talking about me, of course I'm going to assume they are planning something to humiliate me.

I'm pretty sure Martigan Phillips is my mate. How could I not know, you ask. Well, a shifter's ability to know their mate relies on being able to smell them and Martigan Phillips has no scent. There is another way, but we'll keep it PG. I agree to be his boyfriend for three reasons. ONE: His cousin is a nasty excuse for a human being and really needs to be knocked down a peg. TWO: The idea of anyone else stepping into that role pisses my wolf and me off. And THREE: I'm desperate for a good reason to get closer to Martigan and also to discover if he is, in fact, my mate. I'll just need to get the nineteen-year-old who is leery of everyone and everything to trust me. That shouldn't be hard, right? When his cousin's attempts to embarrass him turn dangerous, I get my chance to scent my dragon mate and I've never been happier. But Martigan has built up quite a shell over the years and breaking though isn't going to be easy. It's probably a good thing his friends are on my side.
Warning: Mpreg elements! (Though the MCs in this book aren't and cannot get pregnant, this is a spin-off series from my Chosen series. Occasional Mpreg characters might have cameos. You've been warned!)
Also, my books have little to no angst, and lots and lots of fluff! They are better read in order, because I kind of write them like a continuation of a story, and I don't like to repeat explanations over and over if I can help it. No cheating, because that makes my heart hurt, and I try to avoid things that make me sad like I SHOULD be avoiding carbs. Sorry, I just don't want anyone being disappointed if they like the angst filled heart-rippers. These read more like a romantic comedy than a romantic drama.

I didn't like this one as much as the first two but it was still sweet. It wasn't as funny but Miller was the perfect mate to Martigan. I really think I love this series more than the Chosen one. This is a great group of friends.

Martigan is one special dragon even if he doesn't think so. Miller is determined to show him just how special he really is and that he is loved. What a sweet and adorable love story!

99% of the time this author makes me sigh, makes me a smile, and makes me laugh. This book... this one hit close to home. And it reminded me that just because a book is 'fluffy' doesn't mean that it can't have deeper meaning.
"If he has anxiety it's not his fault and even more important that I clear up any misunderstandings, Bernard." His canines dropped, and his eyes reflected the light around us, seeming to glow. "That's how relationships are supposed to work. You are supposed to take care of one another."

I'm glad this book was 90% fluff because I needed "fluff" today! We all have good days and we all have bad days... we all have issues in our real lives that make the bad days seem worse, so thank goodness for "fluff" to make our bad days into tolerable days... Thank you, Ms. Light... today is a tolerable day because of you!

Martigan's story is not at all what I expected. I'm glad Marti got his HEA after hearing his sad back story. This is a short, light, romance full of fluff and happy, everything one would expect from J.D. Light. The ongoing situation with the glowing drugs that are killing the people of Terra Mortis continues! This series is probably best read in order because of the drug thing.

Martigan is a very sweet man hiding behind a shell because of his past, his friends help him come out of that shell some but Miller coming into his life is what really pulled him out! They both have been crazy about each other from the beginning but unlike others Miller couldn’t smell Martigan so he wasn’t aware that he was his mate but he suspected! These books are full of so much love & laughter and sometime sadness but that’s what makes them so good! 😀😀❤️❤️

I really don't know what to say, since I love all of the books written by this author. Marti, and Miller were just so adorable together. I loved the whole premise of the story. The characters have touched my heart and I eagerly await the next book in the series.

Light fun read. It's heavy on the fluff and not much else. It's definitely enjoyable though. I will say Briec(sp?) needs to go! I can't stand this character. She ruins most of the good parts with her annoyingly pushy ways.

J.D. Light's stories tend to end up being candy and they don't seem to have the substance that I crave. This one was cute but again the plot had holes and didn't follow through with certain situations.

Not as bad
Where the second book had major errors this one only had a few. So it was more enjoyable to read. I like the first serious that this one jumps off of they do not appear to have the same errors as this series does. Maybe it is due to Josh fast it is being produced

Walt brothers
Glad to have another Walt brothers story. You hear more from Bentley and Kinsey after they left Nebraska, added bonus. Love how Miller helps with his mates anxiety and insecurities.

A small Chosen reference, yay, another crossover, or maybe a way to show the connections. Either way I like it. Poor Martigan he didn't have an easy life and he has a d!ck for a cousin.

Mating Martigan is the third book in the Terra Mortis series by J. D. Light. Humorous, sweet and steamy. Martigan and Miller have a fun and entertaining lovestory and the mystery that is spanning the books so far has me really intrigued.

I quite enjoyed Martigan and Miller's story. It was sweet, tender and hot.
