Take a resolute rubber duck and a rosy-cheeked ragdoll. Add a mischievous monkey and stir with a dancing stick. Season with a singing bee and fold in a magic fiddle. Then leave to rise in a world of fairy tales ... and what do you get? A delicious confection of a picture book by award-winning author Hiawyn Oram and illustrator David Lucas, creator of Halibut Jackson.
Hiawyn Oram is a very successful author of children's books in Britain. Her books include the popular Not-So-Grizzly Bear Stories, the Animal Heroes series, and Mona the Vampire. She lives in London.
Good lesson to learn about making choices, trust and friendship. The story line was a bit choppy and didn't tie together well. The illustrations made the book worth reading.
Kind of strange- the text was like a fairy tale, but the illus didn't really match the feel of the text. Love Lucas' illustrations, but wasn't sure about the text. Hmmm.
